@Nikos47 Like many songs on Youtube, this is not "authorized" by the artist. However, it is a song that - in my opinion, at least - needed to be on Youtube. If Pierre wishes for me to take it down, I certainly will.
@barthez4 Many artists (myself included) really appreciate fan videos...whether they are tributes, covers, or just our songs with the cover, such as this one. It is a wonderful way for people to become familiar with our work, and then seek out ways to purchase records, or come to shows when we tour. I believe that sometimes, with artists who are more well known, it may be offensive, or it may eat into their sales...but at my level, the exact opposite has proven to be true.
@barthez4 It was through this video that I learned of the existence of both of these amazing artists. This is the exact reason why internet free-speech should never die. I've already shared this video with 2 other people. Thank you.
et moi qui habite en algerie je n'ai pas acces aux sites de vente en ligne comment vais-je faire pour écouter cette musique grandiose si ce n'est grace a youtube ????
So how come DADGAD never became the 'standard' tuning? This just goes to prove how diverse it can be mixing minor and major yet still getting those full 'open' notes and all that sustain.
Cheers Pierre, after watching a couple of your video's I'm hooked. Investing in a better guitar just to give my humble efforts that 'edge'.
@Igotknobblies I'm dadgads biggest fan. I played guitar for yrs until I stumbled on PB. out of curiosity tried it, woW . I'm hooked.!!! One mistake I see people make with dadgad is they then try to find how to make "G major, C major, etc. chords". You can do this but DON't!!! the beauty of the tuning is the mysterious chords that erupt . Find a transcription of PB and look at his G,C,D etc and it really comes alive!!! stay away from major chords.
@frmertd I totally agree. I have been playing in dadgad for a few months and its totally all about playing outside of the box. It is truly the tuning for playing creatively.
@Igotknobblies There are a lot of great tunings people think should be the standard. I've used the Robert Fripp-dubbed "New Standard Tuning", CGDAEG quite a bit (which tunes to fifths instead of fourths). EADGBE is just the tradition, and it works best with the most common progressions and chords, so people keep at it. But more and more acoustic guitarists use more creative altered tunings these days, especially for instrumental stuff. But for accompaniment the old standard is easier for most
A phenomenal tribute to a phenomenal musician.
