  • why cant pc's and mac's just get along

  • do i need install windows if i want to use virtualization software on mac?

  • virtualox rocks

  • I was trying too install mac os on my windows VirtualBox but I dont have Mac pro so can I install Mac os on my VirtualBox, thanks,

  • how do u get files from ur host comp to ur windows virtual???

  • can you be running windows then use virtualbox to get mac osx

  • Please give some link where we can get OSs from! cant get any legit site to download from for free....pls help!

also i burnt a dvd with xp sp3 in it...but i says fatal error no bootable medium! pls help!

  • i got virtual box downloaded how do i download OS's?

  • No bootable medium?

  • it says no bootable medium found

  • i have the iphone 3g! lol

  • so if i install this on my mac i can always uninstall it and go back to normal no?

  • sounds like he keeps saying windles instead of windows.

  • can you run Mac on Windows with virtualbox?

  • @ghostphantom563 i think so

  • How?

  • just go 2 there website and it shows u

    plz subscribe

  • @ghostphantom563 Yes virtualBox 3.2 will let you run Mac on Windows , or Linux...

  • I got a websie if you want this for free. Just go to ISOPlease[.]com ( Remove the [ ] ) well worth the time to DL it!

  • So the point is the name of your video should be "Free virtualization software for Mac OS X, Windows , Linux , and Solaris "

    That would be more correct...

  • I run virtualbox in Linux, and Windows it's not Mac software... it is cross-platform, just like CrossOver that Mac users are a fan of is just WINE that comes free with all the 1,000's of Linux distribution...

  • You say Windows 2000/Me/98 SE will work but what about 3.1 and 95?

  • Ultimately, VirtualBox will run any OS (pretty much). It is just a matter of whether or not the OS will recognize the virtualized hardware.

  • when i open up virtualbox it bounces in the dock for a long time then opens up and doesn't respond at all, all i can do is force quit it

    please help!

  • Reinstall it.

  • vbox runs on windows, mac & linux...just wanted to say that!

  • Acculy windows 98 was the best and stable OS.

  • windows 98 get a blue screen of death when bill gates broadcast!

  • Yes but that was a beta verson of windows 98. Beta versons can be unstable. 98 SE was a fix of 98. I have no troble with my 98 se becouse i use the system tools.

  • woah!

  • Hmm VirtualBox lagged a lot with me.. There was a few second lag between when I would move the mouse, and when the actual mouse on the screen would move.

I didn't experience this with VMware, or Parallels.

    Any ideas?

  • yaaa i just got snow leb :)

  • fuck i have leopard mount image but its in mac dmg format!!!

  • damn i have tiger and its in dmg as well!

  • k thanks

  • well how u get it to work on a comp?

  • Linux= Epic Fail.

  • No, Linux = The most stable operation system in the world, but lacks software support and user friendliness. Great for Servers. That isnt the definiton of fail. Getting a higher quality product for free than windows, or mac for that matter is a fail.

  • I'm buying a Macbook Pro soon. But I have a license for Vista Ultimate that was hoping to use.

Has anyone tried running Vista in this yet? If so, how well does it work?

  • virtualbox can run vista, just make sure you have atleast 1gig of ram to give vista for itself or it would be pointless to use it

  • I have, better off with Bootcamp if you plan to do anything. It "runs" though.

  • Why the hell does it, when I try and download it, bring me to a page with a dot....

  • do u need a CD?

  • will the memory that is set for the virtual machine be available for mac os x if it is not running?

  • yes

  • i have a macbook too

would i be able to run xp smoothley or should i stick with 2000 and below?

  • yeah should

  • I have a MacBook Pro 17" - Windows XP SP3 works great in VirtualBox 2.2.4 on Leopard.

  • I'd really like to try this in Windows. Has anyone tried installing this on Windows and emulating OSX. Any links, advice would be much appreciated. :-)

  • Does it need any Windows XP installation CD etc like Parellel or Boot Camp?

  • Yes, unless you have an iso image.

  • does it owrk on mac 10.4.11

  • yes,

    works great on mine

    :D

  • Yes. As long as you have an Intel processor.

  • does it work with windows 7 beta?

  • Yes

  • it says "no bootable medium found" what do i do?

  • check the boot order

if thats ok then check that it is mounted by virtualbox...

or is available, (iso file is where you said it would be etc)

email me if you need some more help

  • very cool. I'm glad this program exists, it may not be as perfect as vmware or parallels, but it could easily get there given time.

    awesome stuff!

  • ok so I have already partitioned my harddrive with bootcamp and I run windos and OSx fine but I have to reboot it everytime! Vitualbox doesnt allow me to use this partition...help

  • BSD is not a linux distro

  • how to find the suitable resolution to fit the screen? i only have too small or too big window appeared on my mac.

  • Do you know if i can get bootcamp for free? Or do i have to pay?

  • its tottaly free, if you have 10.5, it is built in, not a beta

  • Oh alright! Thanks Mate :)

  • U need to get leopard, leopard is $130, that's the only way

  • Oh ok cool thanks

  • did you use a disk?

  • anyone knows how to download windows 2000 for free??

  • come on

  • a torrent site.

  • That is an amazing demo! Thank you! I'm about to dive into running Ubuntu on my Mac.

  • nice very nice clear

  • Thank you for being clear and concise in your video. I appreciated that you went slow enough that we could take it all in and understand what was being shown. Other videos about VirtualBox are too fast. Do not give you enough time to see what is being clicked on.

  • omg, lol! calling *BSD for GNU/Linux, omg noob!

*BSD is UNIX. because it is a derivative of a true UNIX system...

    (go to wikipedia...)

GNU/Linux is not Unix, though it follows the standards, it is not Unix... [GNU=GNU's Not Unix]... because of not being certified.

  • BSD is not certified either, sorry pal.

  • Thank u so much for dis info i mean thank u omg thank u

  • What versions of Linux can I run on this. I want to run try Linux on my Mac and I don't know what I'm doing sometimes so if I wanted to delete Linux off my hard drive how would I do that too?

  • Pretty certain Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron would be supported, but haven't really had time to look into it. I would suggest going to the website and reading the documentation - it's all there and very thorough. Because you'll be running a virtual machine all you need to do to delete Linux is to move the image file (1 file) to the trash and you're done.

  • I wasnt able to run windows 2000 due to no fat32 partition how can I accomplish this on my mac for free ?

  • Try Googling MacFuse. I tried messing with it a while ao, but at that time it was command line only and not very user friendly. If I find the and can understand it, I may make a video of it later on, but again I have to review the documentation and see if it's gotten any easier.

  • If you run windows on a mac, is it a good idea to have anti-virus for the windows portion? Could a virus in windows mess up the mac?

  • I'm not a security expert, but as far as I know the only type of virus that can infect both sides of your Mac is a boot sector virus or anything else low-level enough to survive a reformat. The last time I got infected with something was the Code Red worm that got into my Windows 2000 system back in 2001. I don't run anti-virus on any of my Windows systems and Firefox goes a long way to keep you safe. Peace.

  • u paid for that??

  • hey, I downloaded it, and I have a file, but how do I open the actual VBOX?

    thnx

  • Open the disk image and double-click the installer tha shows up. It should be pretty straight forward if you've ever installed software on a Mac.

  • I really want to buy a Macbook now. Great video.

  • So, I'm assuming it doesn't have DX9 support then? If not, I'm still definetley going to try this out anyway. Great vid, again.

  • From what I've seen DX9 support is experimental in Fusion and I'm not sure if Parallels offers anything beyond DirectX 8.1 at this time. If you plan on trying it, read the manual. Especially "The VirtualBox Guest Additions" and section 3.7.6 "USB support". Have fun with it. Peace.

  • wat if i download spysheriff will it effect my system ( my real thign wat u paid for!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Why would you want to install SpySheriff!? The first hit on Google directed me to a Wikipedia article that says, "SpySheriff is malware that disguises itself as an anti-spyware program." You shouldn't be putting Windows on your Mac if you're going to install software that's only going to hose your Windows installation. I'm glad I don't have to worry about crap like this anymore since switching to OS X.

  • i wana test btw will it infected my system?

  • As I know the only type of virus that can infect both sides of your Mac is a boot sector virus or anything else low-level enough to survive a reformat. Malware, in general, isn't gnarly enough to survive a reformat, but you never know. If you wanna push the boundaries go ahead and infect your Windows installation to see if it'll crossover to OS X. Just be sure to make a video so all of us can see =).

  • can nod32 stop a boot sector virus?

  • I don't know. As I said, the last time I got hit with something was in 2001 with Code Red and that was a worm - different from a virus. I use Windows everyday, but I'm pretty paranoid about what I do so I generally don't have worry about infecting my system with anything. As long as you know what you're doing, there should be no reason to put anti-virus software on your system; change your behavior and Windows is just as safe a OS X (in terms of viruses and malware). Peace.

  • hmm, u've gone back to leopard?

  • Actually, no. I installed VirtualBox on the stock hard drive that came with my MacBook and maintain a copy of Leopard on there mostly for testing purposes. Tiger is the OS I use day in, day out.
