@experienceyeah not everyone is thinking lifting steroid to maximum possible, if you aim to get definition, those are perfect even like ex. gsp dont even use more then 90 lbs on his dumbell exercise. And mine i just bought are expendable to 130lbs per hand !
@ishoa1 I have had powerblocks for over two years and have yet to have a pin fall out. The tension usually keeps it in place and the pin has a magnetic part that holds it in otherwise.
@ishoa1 No they have magnets on them that are really thick. all metal. will not fall even if you tried, you would have to actually tak it out to come off.
i would never buy this i need 100lbs dumbbells for each arm on dumbbell press or 65lbs for dumbbell shoulder press so this would only work for biceps workout or shoulder lat raise or side front raise
@Newbpwng You can buy these power blocks now that go up to a max of 130lbs and to tell you the truth not many gyms I have found in my area really go up to 130 or even past it. My gym has them up to I think 120 as a max
@spawn039 I bought the set that goes up to 85lbs per hand on craiglist with the stand for 415. The guy even deliver to my door, and im in chicago, and he was in south east michigan. Check craislist often !
Even a skinny guy if embarking on this whole world of lifting weights, should get the 90 or the 130 even, because he is supposed to be trying to progress to being able to lift it. No use getting the 50 then in 2 or 3 years you have gone to your maximum, at that point you're going to have to sell that PowerBlock and buy a bigger one, when you could just buy the bigger one to start with. If you never expect to get big enough to be lifting the 90 then why are you even doing it in the first place?!
@eXPerienceyeah I agree, when I got these the sales person didn't have a clue about the heavy weights. Neither did I, the only saving grace is I got them on Floor sample sale and saved a $100 bucks. I just read a article on lifting heavier vs. moderate weight. Which basically states you can get similar gains without lifting heavier. Check it out on my blog title " Lifting heavy my first attempt at Benching 275lbs" Thanks for the comment.
Yes they discontinued the kits because their moving to the 50 which are ajustable to 50 pounds and you can buy new kits to add as much as you'd like. I find it funny everybody doing these video's on the dumbells look like they'd have trouble doing 20 pound curls let alone 90 pounds and up which everybody wants. But yes I have the U50's and a kit to 80 pounds.
@60DayswithNatJones@60DayswithNatJones yes you can add on the 5.0 for 80 pounds but the greddy ass company discountinued the add on kits because they wanna sell more of the 9.0 to make profit. Check this video out this guy has the kit type ultraconsumer and he has video.

Where the hell do you get $544 for a hex dumbbell set? Try around $900.

do you know if the 5.0 are upgradable to 90 pounds?
vincnet11 1 year ago
@vincnet11 Sadly there not, you can only upgrade them to 65lbs. Got this from the powerblock site.
"The Sport 5.0 Set can be expanded from 50 lbs to 65 lbs with the Sport 5.0 20 lb Cores."

@vincnet11 Actually there was a stage II add-on kit that could expand it to 85 lbs., but it was discontinued for some reason.
