Not sure if it's Meteor's first appearance in the series but the first time I remember it or at least the first time that it really stuck out to me was in Episode 29. It begins playing just as Kira takes position on the Archangel.

thats becaise kiras gundam and his skills are far greater then anyone elses....plus kira is a new type + hes a coordinator so he has the hybrid skills of both. By new type i mean like blonde guy.who dies in the strike and his father. They are what coordinators genes are altered to replicated in the first place. Since kira was already a new type his genes were altered even more giving him "super ablilities" uncompared and unmatched.

He splits cruisers in half, leaves 'disabled' mobile suits to get picked off by others or for them to drift away and for their pilots, in the void of space, to inevitably die, he sends people spiralling to their deaths on Earth, still kills quite a few named characters, outright destroys mobile suits on several occassions, and has doubtless killed countless crewmen whenever he's disabled ships or assaulte the Minerva.

Er, no they can't? No mass-produced suits, or no suits at all, for that matter (no, not even the Freedom, before you bring up the situation wherein Kira should have died in SEED), have ejectable cockpits. They'd drift off into space with little hope of a rescue in the midst of a heated battle, or, on Earth, in some cases, they'd spiral to their deaths. Kira's a hypocrite.

Whether or not they say "ejected", the Mobile Suits don't actually have an eject able cockpit block. There's nowhere for the seat inside the cockpit to shoot out of the skeleton and away from the destroyed unit. The only way outside of a Mobile Suit, any kind, is through the cockpit door. When it says they ejected, they really just jumped out of their cockpits, like Athrun during his battle with Kira. Kira himself got thrown through the crag in the Strike. He didn't eject at any time.

You can see that that's true when Cagalli looks into the Strike's ruined cockpit; the seat is still there along with the entire cockpit module. Nothing forced the pilot out of the machine, like a fighter plane would have done. Ejected simply isn't the right word. I won't go into the whole thing about whether disabling would be better or worse. From a tech standpoint, you can't eject from a Mobile Suit.

That's right, it's not that simple to find survivors in the middle of a battlefield in space because there's so much remains from all the disabled/destroyed devices, even maneuvering might be impossible depending on the conflict's intensity and nature. Gundam Seed Destiny portrayed Kira as a "Saint" in it's own terms...but from a realistic and accurate point of view he is more cruel than all the people aiming directly to their foes' cockpits.

On Earth: Perhaps, but considering they spiral in their mobile suits it's not a guarantee of death. Supposing they're plunged into a body of water, or from a relatively low-altitude to a solid surface then they're still safe.

This was one of my favorite moments of Gundam Seed...when Kira gets his hand on a Nuclear powered mobile suit. I was so tired of the "out of power" retreats. Lacus Clyne is by far my favorite female character in the Gundam series, for she is gentile yet has a very strong sense of whats right and whats wrong.
