The Rwandan people were divided by the German and the Belgian people into the two tribes. This was done to protect the interests of the Europeans in relation to the possible goods and marketing that Rwanda could offer. This genocide is another effect of capitalism, historical or not. Frankly, these little effects seem to definitely be piling up.

@ sktpsy on religion agree. Money is not the root of all evil. Money represents the value of real assets real assets =resources +materials. Then materialism is the root of all evil. Wait doesn't the earth provide us with those? earth=evil? barter systems?are you stupid? The reason we have money is because a barter system DOES NOT work. period. there is no way we can exchange the amount of resources we need using barter, the only thing it's good for is exchanging pot at the trading circle.

J'étais à Kigali en 2003, il n'y avait plus de tueries bien sûr mais je n'ai jamais vu peuple plus pauvre, mendiant jusqu'à un peu d'eau dans les rues, beaucoup de rescapés du génocide mendiaient, j'ai vu des gens entassés presque épaule contre épaule dès qu'on quitte les riches villas du centre ville avec leurs murs d'enceinte de 4 mètres de haut. L'impression qu'il y a beaucoup de gens bien, et mêmes ouverts et éduqués, ils étaient tous dans un état incroyable de misère.

L'impression que les gens crèvent. Presque toutes les ONG étaient fermées, seules les églises étaient là à aider un peu apparement mais avec leur propagande en prime. Impossible de se faire confiance les uns aux autres. Les riches noirs avec les Africains blancs sont responsables d'un système féodal, tout est permis quand on a du fric là-bas et on vit forcément de magouilles,

ils gagnent au minimum 100 fois plus que leurs employés souvent bien plus qualifiés qu'eux et ils les traitent comme des esclaves. L'impression de revivre au 19ième siècle. L'eau potable, l'éléctricité et le téléphone problématiques même chez les riches. Se promener seul pour se rendre compte est déconseillé par la famille d'accueil. Aucun Européen élevé en Europe ne pourrait survivre là et donc témoigner

car premièrement un blanc se doit d'être riche et d'oublier les fondamentaux des droits de l'homme, sinon il est rejeté par les blancs locaux et les riches, donc il doit prendre part aux magouilles, en tous cas fermer les yeux ou alors on l'oblige à prendre le premier avion, ensuite la mentalité de ces riches qui ne savent par ailleurs même pas repasser ou balayer (mais tirer au fusil oui!) est extrêmement rétrograde, on se demande dans quel siècle ils vivent.

Cette situation est si triste pour un si beau pays: méfiance généralisée, pauvreté question de vie ou de mort qui pousse à oublier ses principes de solidarité. Passivité des Rwandais trop opprimés pour voir qu'il ne faut pas convoiter de réussir comme le riche mais plutôt les foutre dehors et établir un régime socialiste et solidaire que l'occident ne laissera jamais faire de toutes façons. Pauvre Afrique !

Yeah, not all European colonies went bad when they pulled out, but you know a lot did. Rwanda is hardly is hardly alone, (take what happened in India for example). Obviously not everything is the colonists fault, but they took control of these countries without a great deal of concern for the native occupants. So when the new government that they slapped together when they decided it was no longer worth it to try and stay in the country, collapses, they have a responsibility to do something.

Check out other documentaries and read read read. Try to find out whats going on in the world a.t.m. beside of Olympia and Irak. For example in Afrika, or Middle/South America. Thats the first thing everyone can do.
