The poor Parrot says "BoaYu is Coming", thinking that this would make DiYu happy. It always have, but not this time.
DiYu feels lonely even thought there close to a thousand servants alone.
In large mansions where three to fours generations arebliving together, there are bound to be alliances and power struggles, as hinted in, "The Dream of the Red Chamber".
DiYu is an orphan, I think her father dies in the middle of the book, movie, so she has only her maternal grandmother who sincerely cares about her. Diyu is an outside grandchild, matriarch's daughter's daughter. In a way, DiYu is an outsider.
