i been to ramsey county. they took money from me. ive seen them throw other inmates around in booking area. they ignore people in ned of meds or inhalers. it was never this way before they made the "new" jail.
btw you can't get away as a guard with what this guy is claiming because of cameras and also even when you do have alot of rules, they are not enforced very hard to keep the grievences down, you can still get locked down for 12 hrs but in general things are soft , just mainly complience issues, like keeping your cell clean and being disorderly ( cursing and fighting staff or other inmates or contraband) get you in trouble while in jail.. this guys is a piece of garbage , you can just tell.
he can hardly recount what he says happened, BTW the feeding schedule of most jails has one period of time that is 12 hrs between feedings , usually between supper and breakfast, also most inmates in jail are trash, btw just in case you don't know what trash is, he is the one speaking in the video, break the law then cry and groan when someone makes him act like a civilized human being
I saw this guy get arrested. I'm not on the other side, but 99% of everything he said was made up. He just didn't listen when the officer just wanted to see if he was okay and overreacted like he was being arrested, which led to him being arrested. Pussy. Not even a real anarchist.

well there isn't much you can do to prove what goes on inside of the jail but I got arrested once for resisting arrest.. believe it or not and I got pepper sprayed and punched in the eye and my eye was swollen shut for a week with the spray in it. I woke up in a hospital bloodied and bruised I still can't remember the incident where I resisted because I was knocked unconscious and I also suffered permanent eye damage and bruised ribs, anyways that's not the end of it I was taken from the -
hospital shortly after I regained consciousness to the same jail Ramsey county jail where the guy who takes your fingerprints decided to grab me from the back of the neck and slam my swollen eye into cement bench then press all of his weight on it while my hands were cuffed behind my back I do remember that.. the next day they took me to "court" after I had received virtually no medical attention and was suffering from a concussion they had me sign papers in trade for an advil capsule.
I had unknowingly waived my rights and I was held for "resisting arrest" for one week until the swelling and marks on my face were gone and they released me.
this was a year before the RNC so I don't think its associated.

It's not okay to torture people, but it's highly unlikely they did. What happens is they take a guy who is being disruptive, and strap him into a restraint chair. You can even watch this on court tv. There is no danger of torture, nor any reason for it. Jailors do often get frustrated, but torture? Not in a million years, there would simply be no purpose, if they want a guy to shut up they put him in a sound proof room.

A prision is not the same thing as a jail. What the hell are you talking about? Jailors basically just hold the suspects there until trial, it's completely different than what you made have heard about prisons or TV shows you might have watched. People in jails are rarely there long enough for "gangs" to form, and there's no way that COs would risk their careers and livelihood to torture someone just for protesting about food. Do you know what they put up with on a daily basis?

btw you can't get away as a guard with what this guy is claiming because of cameras and also even when you do have alot of rules, they are not enforced very hard to keep the grievences down, you can still get locked down for 12 hrs but in general things are soft , just mainly complience issues, like keeping your cell clean and being disorderly ( cursing and fighting staff or other inmates or contraband) get you in trouble while in jail.. this guys is a piece of garbage , you can just tell.

It's a hard decision to make for those in control, I feel.
He has most likely been practicing this story with the aid of that woman sitting next to him (the one who had a worried look on her face when he opened his mouth). Chances are that we aren't hearing the full story of what went down, and I'm sure he hasn't been an angel.
But I could be completely wrong and he could' have gotten arrested for nothing and beaten for everything.

CANADA was a part of the British Empire during that war, so no, they didn't fight with us. And yes, we really supported them in WWII, but they've supported us strongly ever since. If you haven't noticed, they have over 10,000 troops backing us in Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't act like we're superior.

The Police definitely can be assholes-don't think otherwise. I've had it happen to me when I was mouthy teenager and got roughed up by a cop who was in a bad mood. well there isn't much you can do to prove what goes on inside of the jail but I got arrested once for resisting arrest.. believe it or not and I got pepper sprayed and punched in the eye and my eye was swollen shut for a week with the spray in it. I woke up in a hospital bloodied and bruised I still can't remember the incident where I resisted because I was knocked unconscious and I also suffered permanent eye damage and bruised ribs, anyways that's not the end of it I was taken from the -

hospital shortly after I regained consciousness to the same jail Ramsey county jail where the guy who takes your fingerprints decided to grab me from the back of the neck and slam my swollen eye into cement bench then press all of his weight on it while my hands were cuffed behind my back I do remember that.. the next day they took me to "court" after I had received virtually no medical attention and was suffering from a concussion they had me sign papers in trade for an advil capsule.

I was there, and I don't like the idea of violent protesters or hating on cops, but I was disgusted by the way the protesters were treated. It was honestly horrible. The news was really skewed. You believe so strongly in the "Fourth Reich Gestapo" that you're not even willing to consider the possibility the kid is lying, even though many elements of his story are implausible. The blogs of other protesters who witnessed the event even contradict what he is saying. The cops had tons of protesters coming in and out, why would they "torture" this one person? Clearly he was being disruptive, so maybe the cops finally got fed up.

Wrong on the first two counts: I don't KNOW he's telling the truth, and I AM willing to, and HAVE, considered he may be lying. However, I believe his tale is consistant with the overall situation of Police State thuggery and heavy handed oppression of dissent of late. He's a self-described anarchist for Christ's sake; it doesn't lend much to his credibility as he already views police as the enemy before this even happened. If this was simply cops getting fed up (assuming it even happened) then the grand mosaic you're trying to fit it in "Fourth Reich Gestapo" makes no sense whatsoever. In any case, the cops in the '60s were much more abusive then today.

The police are the enemy and they made it that way. When I started out they were my hereos. In a 20 year career I've been beaten and jailed 4 times, including a broken rib.
They never show up in court and I never can bring charges despite numerous thefts beatings, perjuries, etc.
I wasn't looking for a confrontation but I got one anyway. You hear me laughing because I'm conducting an audit of NYPD ops and that clown turned a routine vid into a You Tube vid.

That's not true. On my page you see them messing with me and in an unposted vid, they chase me.
Ilegally and not the first time in recent days for taking the same pics I've taken for 25 years and even had press credentials to cross police lines to do so for 20 years.
If the police are chasing you to break the law and illegally imprison or harm you, you have every right to run.
I don't know who you or these rookies think they are but I'm not taking that from them or you anymore.

Even better, just like SPPD had reporters assigned to the riot squads, the Ramsey County Sheriffs Department used video camcorders during the RNC in the jail. I have seen first hand that Eliot Hughes is full of shit. I would love to see the face of the judge once the evidence against Hughes is shown in court!

Maybe the cops roughed him up a little bit, maybe he pounded his own head into a wall in his cell and they had to restrain him from harming himself further. The only people who know what happened are the ones who were there and the facts will come out eventually whether you want to hear them or not.
If you had been here in St. Paul you'd realize there was good reason for the police presence.

Are you some kind of fucking idiot? COs in jails use a "code of conduct" rulebook which is given out on the first day they get the job. They're not taking orders from anybody other than their jail admin, and won't deviate much from what their training dictates. They don't take orders from the corporate elite "Do this, do that" etc. The people who work in a jail are just like you and me, they are not mean people.

What you don't understand RaidoReporter is that probably 20% of the people who come into a jail allege abuse at some point. They get belligerent-- this guy is a self-described anarachist, it's kind of his thing. He even says himself that he was protesting because he hadn't had food for tweleve hours. What a crime! His mindset was already to complain, in order for him to be put in a restraint chair, he would already be causing massive problems, and no, they can't just let someone protest.

It's not okay to torture people, but it's highly unlikely they did. What happens is they take a guy who is being disruptive, and strap him into a restraint chair. You can even watch this on court tv. There is no danger of torture, nor any reason for it. Jailors do often get frustrated, but torture? Not in a million years, there would simply be no purpose, if they want a guy to shut up they put him in a sound proof room.

A prision is not the same thing as a jail. What the hell are you talking about? Jailors basically just hold the suspects there until trial, it's completely different than what you made have heard about prisons or TV shows you might have watched. People in jails are rarely there long enough for "gangs" to form, and there's no way that COs would risk their careers and livelihood to torture someone just for protesting about food. Do you know what they put up with on a daily basis?

While a human can go without food for a long time its effects can be severe for people with preexisting conditions such as diabetes or, I dunno, being arrested and tortured by cops; his description of vomiting, etc are also well consistent with trauma and high intensity stress. And while a YouTube video may not be appropriate legal evidence, as documentation and journalism it works fine. Now, you may have noticed cameras going off in the video, photographing his injuries. Photographs like that would work well "in a court of law" as would hospital reports and cellmate testimonies.
