Analog tv could pick up some channels not great but could see and here some, but digital tv only one channel crappy and intermitently with same rabbit ears was a complete failure.

Where I live they don't even let you put up an outside antenna and Digital doesn't pickup with rabbit ears why is that? Cable here sucks and some channels frequently don't work correctly and sometimes none of the channels work at all. Is it worth it to switch to dish or just try to watch tv on computer with slow loading speed, maybe I should get faster internet but that cost also.Where I use to live cable was $13 a month with more channels here it's $20 for fewer and they don't work as good.

whats weird I dont get channel 2 in chicago digital, I get all the locals but not channel 2 in digital, but in analog I get channel 2,

Most people are using rabbit ears, which don't work as well for DT VHF, or using an outdoor antenna that isn't optimized for neither low VHF or high VHF (Chicago market doesn't need low VHF, except for Asians that want to watch WOCH-DC on 4). I have an older outdoor antenna optimized for 2-69 (though the dial is now 2-51), and had no problems getting WBBM-TV on DT3, or their new channel of DT12. Same with WLS-TV on 7. WLS comes in better for me on 7 than when they were on 52.

This is such a lie. Digital signals only travel half as far as analog signals, and there is documented proof of that. Local channels that I used to receive on analog I can no longer receive digitally. The changover to HDTV is going to leave a lot of people very disaponted unless they live in the exact same city as the transmitting tower.

Second of all, you only displayed one digital network, which was WNBC, which is in New York. It would be interesting to see what kind of reception other networks in your area look on DTV. If you actually live in New York city, it is feasable that other networks would probably come in clearly.

For example, with a very crappy indoor antenna, I used to be able to watch NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, and FOX most any time I wanted to, Not all stations were crystal clear, but I could at least see and hear them. With DTV, the indoor antenna wouldn't cut it. Now, after much trial and error, I have an antenna on top of the house. Now, with that antenna, Yes NBC usually comes in clearer, and PBS. However, FOX which is the closest tower to me has intermittant blocky reception, and I don't get CBS at ALL now. I have posted a before and after video of how I now receive ABC.

I never denied that DTV boxes operate prior to the transition date. My point is, after much frustration, myself and many others, have found this new system (that we didn't ask for) to not be all it's cracked up to be. Good evening.

I have a great idea, I have only 7 channels with the combentional antenna, I USE THE SATELLITE DIREC TV ANTENA and I get 16 CHANNELS.

BEST QUALITY AND SIGNAL.

REMEMBER IS SATTELITE SIGNAL.

I have a Zenith DTT990, and so far where I live, I only have 8 channels, including the FUNimation Channel. some days I can pick up more stations, like WNEP, WVIA and the CW affiliates from NEPA, but they fade away during the morning. And I can't even get WYOU or any of the Binghamton stations on it just yet.

Oh, well, I guess they'll all be fully Digital before February 2009. And I'll be ready!

yea, most digital stations are broadcasting at half power right now because they're using power for the analog simulcast. I know Syracuse stations are... not sure about Binghamton

Yes, you do get more channels than with a regular antenna. right now i have about 20 channels. When the full conversion in 2009 happens that will add more channels.
