HCA is planning an IPO in 2011. The motivations of the investor/shareholder and that of the medical staff of HCA’s hospitals are obviously different. Will there be a balance for aligned incentives for all affiliated stakeholders? Will there be more healthcare buyouts and subsequent IPOs?
