Philippine congress needs more Miriam Defensor-Santiago, not like most who just sit prettily in Congress win elections and do nothing. Her selection to sit in the international court of justice is proof of recognizing her integrity, intelligence, fairness, and abilities as judge and parliamentarian at worldwide scale. The SC's decision dismissing the petition for Santiago's disbarment was a very lame decision in decreeing that she was covered by parliamentary immunity, and that she should have been disciplined by the Senate Ethics Committee. Is the SC afraid of Santiago? If that's the case, then Santiago may be right in saying that our SC is a SC of idiots.

She should not really have used those words: "...I spit on the face of CJ Panganiban..." She should have just told the media about the anomalies involved as to why she was not shortlisted to the CJ post, considering the fact that she was the only one among the CJ candidates who turned out during the CJ job interview session that was organized by the JBC; even then Associate Justice Puno snubbed the interview - and yet he eventually got appointed as CJ.
