when i saw this on tv i got so freaked out! Thank GOD they werent killed or really seriously injured. WELL DONE TO THE FIRE MARSHALS AND MEDICS!!!!!!!!!!
@Niceboy3377 I didn't think that commenting on both drivers being okay and are very lucky would draw a response like that. Grow a brain you clown ! >:-(
He got on the brakes just after he ran into the back, whilst the other guy who got hit from behind probably knew what was coming, because he didn't have his brakes on at all. Very smart thinking, and very lucky not to get really badly burnt too.
Two men's lives were at stake...I don't think race control would fault anyone for helping by hosing down the fire. I'm sure race control didn't order the pit crews out to the grid, but they went anyway.
The crash was horrific, good that the drivers are fine, kind that all the other teams came along to help out.If you press the key 5 over and over again it sounds like the commentator is saying "Undie hat",weird, I know!!!
wow, that was a massive hit. from later reports they showed images of the cars in the garage and the force was so massive that the barrier that's supposed to stop fuel entering the car gave way and that's why the guy recieved second degree burns
Wow. Slow response from those marshalls! First truck was on the grid and took forever to open the fire bottle! Freakin pit crews were out there helping faster! Glad those marshalls aren't at my track.
@Sj1bby yea, with regular gas it has to be vaporized. Liquid gas doesn't explode, but when it is injected into the engine, evaporates into the air, or in this case the fuel tank was crushed so fast it effectively sprayed and vaporized the gas into the air and I am sure there were ample sparks to ignite it.
Almost as sickening as the Tesuya Ota crash in the Japanese GT Championship. He unluckily had to spend close to 90 seonds inside a fire ball like that. I ruined his career. These boys are VERY lucky.
The marshals and medics and all involved did a fantastic job. Luckily no one died here.
@Lacccikapitany i think, judging by the panicked way he was holding it, it was an attempt to warn the drivers of the stalled car, unsuprisingly inaffective
@Lacccikapitany i'm just taking a guess but I think the second sign is actually a sign to tell other drivers that a car has stalled out on the starting grid... Or at least that's what It seems like to me
When are people to get a clue and abolish the standing start? Imagine this in an F1 car with that acceleration...not that we don't have horrific examples of what happens there.
@BOGnz the fact that you can almost guarantee everyone watching this knows what a rolling start is. You don't have to attempt to act like you know allot about racing, atleast thats the impression i got.
Sorry for de lenguage...DEBERÍAN LARGAR CON LOS AUTOS EN MARCHA, TAL COMO LO HACE EL NASCAR, O NUESTRO TURISMO CARRETERA EN ARGENTINA, GRACIAS A DIOS QUE NO HUBO QUE LAMENTAR VICTIMAS...
I think this V8 needs to review its safety. The fuel tank should never be this fragile nor explode on impact. It looks just like an episode of TopGear except this one is not suppose to be entertaining.
if a car is not moving its basic knowledge that it has stalled. even for someone who doesn't know anything about motorsports. its the laws of physics. accelerating, moving at a solid speed (cruise control), decelerating, and stopping.
Thanks to the engineers, marshals, volunteers and everyone else involved... everyone here went home to their kids :)

I got to say it looked different from the croud when I was there.
I was directly inline with it with and the pit lane and 4 rows back and the smoke or what ever it bloody was but it smelt/tasted bad.
I'm glad they got out so quickly and no one was seriously hurt.
