I think AC was meeh ok, it's just the same shit all over. The fighting is way to easy and the missions is repetative and boring. The assassination part was the best thing imo.
Also the first time i ever saw this producer chick was today earlier on the previous episodes when that cool british guy ran around with flyers and got his autograph, so no i think the game IS awesome not just that chick (who is hot,but i wouldnt go through a game i thought was bad just because of a hot chick ,that just some distorted teenager logic man).
i would hate to push 10 buttons to climb a wall with a bunch of guards on my ass and it was nice to have the option to go rooftop and get away from the street to this cool view of the town.I pretty much finished it in an all nighter and had a blast doing it but i dont see myself going through it again what with the repetiteveness and all (cool 1st time , not so cool 2nd time around).
Here goes - i mostly agree with you objectively AS was repetetive and the combat was somewhat lacking moves and weapons, and the interaction with the environment was simplistic BUT the graphics were awesome the storyline was pretty fun, the character didn't feel overpowered - sure you could take on 2,3 guys but there was a moment when 10 guys jump you and you're dead no matter your kung fu, considering you're this master assassin thats pretty realistic.
Hey guys, i'm going through watching all the vidoes back from 23 and there's alot of stuff i don't agree with you about from genres to gameplay to storylines and stuff still love the attitude though and didn't bother commenting on anything yet, but couldn't just pass this one.
Yeah Missions were repetitive but the story and characters like Al-Tair and the people he has to assassinate were so interesting like Jubir or Sibrand or Tala the slaver trader their conversation about what they did. You could not hate but understand their view point. The Templar's goal was noble but the method they obtained was misguided. The free running was easy to pull off and fun to me because everything flowed together and combat was nice.
yea. it was repedative. but i did think the grapichs kept me playing. and i played the game to full potential like collectiong all flags and templars just to get nothing in return. its realy not that great of a game. it just looks great. i heard assassins creed 2 was gunna be great though. totally different
I'm going to agree with the repetitive thing for AC, it was definitely my main complaint. I liked the story and I thought Altair was badass (a little monotonous, mind). The combat was pretty damn easy once you could counter, but I liked the animations - I'm a sucker for kind of cinematic-esque, flashy moves. The parkour is really good, I love the open-worldness. Overall I'd probably give it like a 6, maybe 7/10. I've been following the sequel, seems like they improved it 10-fold. Looks great.
I hated combat in Assassin's Creed until I figured out how to make a deadly attack by double-pression the square button just when my blade hit my opponent's blade. It resulted into kick-ass battles where I kill every guard nearby then run away :p
I have to definitely agree on the whole casual gaming thing on AC. Once you get counterattack the game is pretty much over. But I have to say that the visuals are mindblowing. Seen some previews on AC2 though, and it looks like they've really fixed some of the major problems. Lookin' forward to it!

Assassin's Creed... is odd. I loved it, but it wasn't a good game. It looks good, feels good and sounds good, but there's enough game in there for, like, one hour. Mechanics are great, the potential is there, but it feels like it had maybe one mission in it, copied and pasted over the entire damn game.
I still look at it now, though, and I wanna play it again. Just to be there. I love the environment, I love the controls. It was fun. Shame it lacked actual content.

The game had repetitive gameplay but I love the game. The setting and graphics are immersive and I really enjoyed the story. Later chapters are harder but its never hard. I just treated it as a casual game that I dipped in and out of.

I bought this game immediately when it came out cause the concept looks so good, the graphics looked amazing, and you had a cool-looking character to play as... So, yeah, it had all that, but it just wasnt fun because there was ZERO challenge and nothing fun about it except to run around, leap from buildings and just drool at how awesome everything looked. So, like a week later, I exchanged it for something else, thinking, how could anyone say this is a good game.

I would actually compare Assassin's Creed to a sandbox WoW. Merely on the basis that many people are fine with the repetitiveness because it is to reach a greater goal, very much playing on my OCD (like grinding and fetch quests in any major MMO). It's more addictive than fun, and I find myself many times taking a step back going "Why am I playing this crap? And why am I having FUN!?!?!?" You're deff right in that it falls VERY short of the game it could be, but its still very oddly intriguing.

I was shocked at the Assassin's Creed review, but I did agree with one thing. It is repetitive, but I've beat the game twice. The storyline is great, it just takes thinking. It's like LOST, most people don't like it because it makes them think. But for the intellectual people, it's great.

Games where I have to figure out new things, puzzles, locations, etc. Any game that is genuinely repetitive is going to get a negative review from us here at Noobtoob. Although I kind of agree with you, I'd like to point out that it was something completely new and never done before, that's why people love it. I'm still playing it every day or two, trying to finish up the flags and Templars.
Climbing and Assassinating were new, what are you thinking? Have you even played the game yet? You can climb EVERY building in the game, it's more complex then Spiderman, because Spiderman has super powers, Altair doesn't. And assassinating is one of the coolest ways to kill in a game. The story is new, and actually fits into history, as it's somewhat historically accurate. Robert did die in 1191, just like in the game, and it was rumored that he was assassinate, so it fits perfectly.

That is my opinion because other people may have a different idea about it. Also the level of its repetitiveness is also an opinion; some people may not think it's so repetitive, while others like me find it to be unbearable.
Every game gets repetitive. It's most certainly not "hitting one button", running is holding down a button, but attacking (the core of the game), is based on counters and attacking with different weapons. Parkour is only a part of the game, it's not the main thing about the game. Assassin's are trained mainly to kill, not climb buildings, think about it.

Assassin's Creed... is odd. I loved it, but it wasn't a good game. It looks good, feels good and sounds good, but there's enough game in there for, like, one hour. Mechanics are great, the potential is there, but it feels like it had maybe one mission in it, copied and pasted over the entire damn game.
I still look at it now, though, and I wanna play it again. Just to be there. I love the environment, I love the controls. It was fun. Shame it lacked actual content.

The game had repetitive gameplay but I love the game. The setting and graphics are immersive and I really enjoyed the story. Later chapters are harder but its never hard. I just treated it as a casual game that I dipped in and out of.

I bought this game immediately when it came out cause the concept looks so good, the graphics looked amazing, and you had a cool-looking character to play as... So, yeah, it had all that, but it just wasnt fun because there was ZERO challenge and nothing fun about it except to run around, leap from buildings and just drool at how awesome everything looked. So, like a week later, I exchanged it for something else, thinking, how could anyone say this is a good game.

worst thing about assassins creed is that its a large, beautiful open world but theres NOTHING to do in it. You can just ride through it, fight people but thats it. One the assasiantions are done the games over, and the assanations aren't particularly interesting.
I disagree about the combat though, I loved although it was pretty easy.

I would actually compare Assassin's Creed to a sandbox WoW. Merely on the basis that many people are fine with the repetitiveness because it is to reach a greater goal, very much playing on my OCD (like grinding and fetch quests in any major MMO). It's more addictive than fun, and I find myself many times taking a step back going "Why am I playing this crap? And why am I having FUN!?!?!?" You're deff right in that it falls VERY short of the game it could be, but its still very oddly intriguing.

I was shocked at the Assassin's Creed review, but I did agree with one thing. It is repetitive, but I've beat the game twice. The storyline is great, it just takes thinking. It's like LOST, most people don't like it because it makes them think. But for the intellectual people, it's great.

I completely disagree. I like games that never get repetitive. Games where I have to figure out new things, puzzles, locations, etc. Any game that is genuinely repetitive is going to get a negative review from us here at Noobtoob. Assassin's Creed had awful, brainless gameplay that didn't stimulate the mind at all.

Good point. I know Assassin's Creed was pretty repetitive, but the reason people like it so much is because it's such a new thing. It's never really been done before in any game. It's repetitive I know, but it's one of those games where no matter how much you play it, you still want more. At least for most of us who can't get enough of it. Climbing and Assassinating were new, what are you thinking? Have you even played the game yet? You can climb EVERY building in the game, it's more complex then Spiderman, because Spiderman has super powers, Altair doesn't. And assassinating is one of the coolest ways to kill in a game. The story is new, and actually fits into history, as it's somewhat historically accurate. Robert did die in 1191, just like in the game, and it was rumored that he was assassinate, so it fits perfectly.

Yea but I wasnt arguing over it being repetitive, I was arguing that the actual game play sucked, such as hitting one button to do pretty much everything, there wasn't enough complexity to it, in my opinion. That is my opinion because other people may have a different idea about it. Also the level of its repetitiveness is also an opinion; some people may not think it's so repetitive, while others like me find it to be unbearable.

Every game gets repetitive. It's most certainly not "hitting one button", running is holding down a button, but attacking (the core of the game), is based on counters and attacking with different weapons. Parkour is only a part of the game, it's not the main thing about the game. Assassin's are trained mainly to kill, not climb buildings, think about it.
