  • Good Work Team!

  • I'm going to Lundy in a couple of weeks time, hopefully. I tried last year but a storm put a stop to the journey. I haven't been in nine years. The National Trust is an odd organisation. You can take photos in some of their properties but not in others. I tried to take a photo of a fireplace once, the woman who said 'no' didn't seem to know why I couldn't. I'm looking forward to Lundy Island, I'll be sure to point my camera away from the wardens. What was on the fire... previous students?

  • 16:9 version above.

  • what a negative film! l had six happy months living on Lundy

  • Just got back from the Island - great place, friendly staff and will return.

  • You had 'Lundy Tummy' - did you boil your water? It IS an island, after all ; - ) We've been there in gale force storms when the Oldenburg could not ferry us out. Ship is the usual transport for those without unlimited funds (helicopter?! Blimey!) We've been there in drought when the sheep were airlifted off. The locals are always the best people - tourists sometimes not . The island calls: "If once you have slept on an island you'll never be quite the same" - from a poem by Rachel Field

  • I've seen Lundy on a clear day from across the water, and thought I wouldn't going one day, thanks for making me see sence and change my mind lol.

I had similar illness a few months ago, dont know how but I thought I was gonna puke my insides out as I had nothing left in my stomach, it weakened me greatly and i suffered pulled stomach muscles for 2 days from the heavy, I feel for you all... Good ducu for film you did take..

  • S*** and puked at the same time. That's why doctors call it D&V - diarrhea and vomiting. Always seems to effect each end of the gastrointestinal tract ¦-s

  • This is a most peaceful place and it's probably better if some people stay away.

  • check out 16:9 version on Vimeo

  • @darkestdevon What you see in the Film is what happened. So when you say that we are misinformed then you seem to be the person who is misinformed. You have taken a pop at this film without even asking about the background of the film. To be fair we did not do the staff a disservice we gave them no comment due to lack of cooperation.

We have made a film about our experience, if you don't like it then it makes no ends to what I think is the best representation of our 5 days there.

  • @lundypete chill out, go to lundy....

The fact is that a group of students went to Lundy to see how things worked there and to talk to the locals and have a good time, but to the dismissive behaviour from the people on Lundy they now look like twats on this video.

This could have been a really nice documentary on how a small island has a great atmosphere, but due to the Island folk this didn't happen, you can't blame a group of students for this.

Gutted in your face Lundy Pete

  • @missjackygurr i think i must have watched a different video!

  • You really are an obnoxious prick: as I told you at the time that you spoke to me about filmimg on the island, no one likes cameras pointed at them as they go about their business. you ignored my advicxe, thought you had every right to do as you saw fit, without regard for anyone.

  • @lundypete liking the island is a personal decision but there is no reason to be rude to us.

We went to the island to make a film about the culture and wildlife. However due to circumstances we made a different film. We had 2 people fall ill whilst filming. The national trust told staff not to speak to us. The video turned out the way it did due to sickness and incorporation. Maybe you should think before you say something that offends everyone. People, who like the island, like this video.

  • @michaelmckirgan123 I've just come back from Lundy. The tone of your film is way off from the start. This can work if it's witty but your narration and on camera comments are just not funny! I agree with lundypete about you being obnoxious. If someone like you had pointed a camera at me i'd have livid. Stick to the S.U bar. Glad you're not going back.

  • @darkestdevon As I said to Lundypete we did not intend the film to turn out this way which has been backed by others. Also the camera was not shoved in peoples faces like you are insinuating, we asked everyone before we approached them. The reaction of the locals however made the film this way. I do not like the tone you are taking on this. stereotypes work 2 ways. we are not some SU drunk students and the they are not bumbling islanders, but you in your comment insult both of us.

  • Damn guys who was you speaking to / upset ? I went to Lundy myself a couple of years ago, spent 2 weeks there and had a right old laugh with the locals, had a laugh with charlie, damon hills and mary jane if you know what i mean ;)

  • Congratulations! Really good video. 5 stars.

  • Mm I was rather transfixed by your Vid. I wonder whay was the cause of your mates sickness? Have been to Lundy three times..you are so right..they are rather odd when it comes to filming. Great retreat though. Thanks again for posting.

  • Oddly entertaining.

  • whey!!!
