This movie is amazing! I LOVE it! A shame I had not started my little animated Who spoof series, 'Doctor Stew' sooner...would have been fun to be included...still, a smashing documentary, guys...well done, and thank you!
You could do a sequel investigating Whovians around the world. Here in Australia, from the mid 70s to the mid 90s Dr Who was shown in the 6-7pm weekday,5 nights a week timeslot on the ABC(our Beeb),alongside The Goodies or Monkey. Our parents would watch The News on the Big TV and we would watch Who on the B & W tv in the bedroom.Ask an Aussie of about 40 and they'll tell you Who was a part of their teen and twenties as much as anything.
This is a great idea, much like Trekkies was.Why didn't you call it Whovians(or at a pinch Who-ers) though? That's a snappier title and anybody remotely knowledgable of Dr Who knows DW fans are called this.
I think serious collectors of any show or franchise (not just Dr Who) will be burning with jealousy over how much cool stuff some of these guys collected. A true love letter to fandom.
Um, I don't know if you noticed, but Lawrence Miles has My Little Ponies on his shelves. Mad Larry is a brony. I don't know why that amuses me so much. Explains a lot, though.
Although, this was years before the current pony madness, wasn't it? I can't imagine Larry having the time to embrace his inner pony nowadays. I mean, he has to secretly follow Steven Moffat around all day long, sticking rude post-it notes on his back and making fart sounds whenever he sits down.
What a beautiful documentary! A tale of love and obsession. Congratulations - a LOT of work obviously went into this, and it paid off in the finished production.
I love this show. Dr Who is just the best thing ever and I love hanging around with other people/fans that share my affection. Love the WHO shop in london to. Did I say how much I love Dr Who? lol

Jaysus, next time use microphones. I have a hard time hearing. Why do indie documentarians rely on echo-ey camera sound???
btw - thanks for this

Well done, Marq. A very entertaining catalogue of quirkiness! Thanks for keeping the mention of Soul Searcher in too.
