And right now thse cars wont have Horse power and torque worth shit, like the big blocks and muscle, but they will save you thousands of dollars in gas and they will near perfection near the future.
Truthfully, yeah, it does bug us...but many of us are coming around to admit what you are explaining. This Denali XT is indeed hybrid and flex-fuel (E85 capable) and yet powerful and muscular so that is part of the attraction to me - combining both worlds (the fun world and the one full of concern and worry). Still, with the weight and power, it's not like the mileage is going to be wonderful even with hybrid mechanics. And the costs will be high. A non-hyrid Corolla is maybe most sensible.

As long as it's a nice looking 2 seater convertible, that's all girls care about anyway. And for the price you can't beat it. Or, a Dodge Demon, but I would stay away from anything that Chrysler touches, my last PT Cruiser rear quarter glass fell out on it's own (2006 MY), dealer would not fix recall, lol.

What an ugly concept this is. It has Cadillac rims/wheels with cues pushing toward an HHR around the windows, and kind of reminds me of an old El Camino. Should have been badged a Chevy. Would have looked nice if they had finished building the back. Add a hood scoop and you have a cool looking Subaru. Being built in Aussie Territory it should have been called a Holden Joey or something to that effect, mate. I see a waste of time and money in R&D, nothing spectacular about this one.

The Tahoe/Yukon city mileage goes from 14 to 21 (6L V8), so I suspect similar improvement here. No, the hybrid engine should not be bigger. It needs to be sized to supply the power level needed 95% of the time. Otherwise you have an oversized electric motor and batteries (heavy/expensive). Switching an SUV owner from a non-hybrid to the hybrid of the same SUV saves more gas than putting your average small car driver into a Prius. Just run the numbers yourself.
Americans have the most fuel efficient Full size pickups/ SUVs
I will Admit Ford is terrible but Gm is turning out some of the most reliable and affordable cars to date. Ask any real mechanic. Most German cars are good for about 5 years and fall apart, and Japanese cars are full of defects these days. Hyundai has improved quite a bit and is very respectable.

Why not... many buy trucks that are sexy enough for a night out on the town. This'll sell very well. Especially for the demographics that GMC caters too.... which happen to make more money annually then Caddilac's Escalade drivers.

Until a vehicle can get be all electric with a long battery life before recharge- I am not impressed!! 99% of the cars out there are not jumpimg ahead with anything good. Just boring and incovinient. All european , japanese, american cars suck as of right now!!! Old century technologies and nothing more....

I think the only "American" car I would dare to spend my money on is the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Soltice, but more the Sky than the Solstice, mostly based on looks, not really performance. As long as it's a nice looking 2 seater convertible, that's all girls care about anyway. And for the price you can't beat it. Or, a Dodge Demon, but I would stay away from anything that Chrysler touches, my last PT Cruiser rear quarter glass fell out on it's own (2006 MY), dealer would not fix recall, lol.

Hybrids of any type are actually a waste of resources, costly to make in every sense. Buy a small european diesel for proper fuel economy and longevity, I've got an Opel Astra 1.9 litre diesel, averages 50 mpg (44 US) over last 190,000 km, 150 bhp too!

What an ugly concept this is. It has Cadillac rims/wheels with cues pushing toward an HHR around the windows, and kind of reminds me of an old El Camino. Should have been badged a Chevy. Would have looked nice if they had finished building the back. Add a hood scoop and you have a cool looking Subaru. Being built in Aussie Territory it should have been called a Holden Joey or something to that effect, mate. I see a waste of time and money in R&D, nothing spectacular about this one.

The car, as well as you trying to make my comment more logical than what I meant it to be, are both ridiculous. :) If you know what a Subaru is, many of their models have hood scoops, but they are also station wagons... if you like that style then good for you. My comment about the Subaru was meant to be rhetorical as well as a bit sarcastic. We all know everyone that buys a WRX Sti is for the speed and agility, not the looks. :)

Ah. American "hybridism." A 4.9 "small block" V8 326-HP mated to a motor that probably puts out about 40-HP. Where did we go bad in math?? So instead of 12mpg you get 13mpg. lol Shouldn't the electric motor DO MORE and BE BIGGER than the gas engine in order to realize any savings or at least any real reason to buy a "hybridized" SUV? The oil sheiks know GM and Ford have had better tech for the past 35 years than this concept XT crap, this stuff is yesterday's drawing board dust.

The Tahoe/Yukon city mileage goes from 14 to 21 (6L V8), so I suspect similar improvement here. No, the hybrid engine should not be bigger. It needs to be sized to supply the power level needed 95% of the time. Otherwise you have an oversized electric motor and batteries (heavy/expensive). Switching an SUV owner from a non-hybrid to the hybrid of the same SUV saves more gas than putting your average small car driver into a Prius. Just run the numbers yourself.

I will Admit Ford is terrible but Gm is turning out some of the most reliable and affordable cars to date. Ask any real mechanic. Most German cars are good for about 5 years and fall apart, and Japanese cars are full of defects these days. Hyundai has improved quite a bit and is very respectable.
Dont make a blind statement like that.
