Does the 250 have enough power to keep up at highway speeds with a passenger? Or does it kinda bog down due to the extra weight? Do/would you have trouble cruising at say 70 with a passenger? Total weight of rider+passenger= about 300 lbs
i love watching these videos because a few months ago i got my trust fund, and my stupid selfish moron of a father took it all off me because of his stupid debts. i wanted so bad to get this bike
I just got a quote today from my insurance. keep in mind I have 2 other cars w/ full coverage and im over 30 and married, but i was quoted at 386 a year for full coverage, 250 deductible. Same as my vehicles except for medical and your health insurance will cover that part
that's because in general, bikes don't fuck shit up when they crash. if you were to have good personal injury coverage, your rate would be absurdly high.
It depends a lot on where you live and which company you get your insurance with. I've heard on the grapevine that State Farm is cheapest, but may require you to have insurance on your car with them as well. I was quoted between $159 and $230 a year (for basic liability and then for collion w/ $200 deductible, respectively) by my insurance company, but it may vary a bit by age, state, and company.
you all assumed he was a beginner or did he actually tell you?
because everyone assums im a beginner but then again ive been riding for a little over 6 years and im only 16 :)i can probs ride better than some of you!!
yes, you can ride better than I do,fo sho. When I was 16 I kicked ass in computer games, then I rode freestyle bikes like mad and kicked ass too, when I applied for a job, I became the best employee of the company so fast like nobody else before. Now Im 24 and Im gonna buy this bike, 'cos Im a beginner and never rode one before. I don't even know how to start it. U can laugh now ;), but I don't need to go around and tell people how I own them in this and that. I do what I do, 'cos I love it. ;P
dude, seriously never carry passengers as a beginer, and what that one dude said about not riding in the center is so true....defintly as a beginner.i'm not hateing on anyone at all, i just know from experiance.PEACE,and keep riding forever cuz gas is to damn high.THANK YOU MR. BUSH....LOL
how is the performance of the bike while you have a passenger? I'm 6'2" and about 230, I don't wanna bike that's gonna bog down if I have a chick on the back but I really love this bike.
The seat is taller than the '07 at 30.7". He's not too tall or heavy. A 250cc engine just isn't going to have the huge acceleration a bigger engine does unless you're like 110 lbs (which I'm not either). It will cruise okay at higher revs on the highway, it's got a great price ($3499 for the '08, $3999 for the '09), and great fuel economy (45 to 70 mpg, depending). As a beginner, I don't want or need a 600cc engine that can go 150 mph on the highway and 0-60 mph in 3 seconds. Great bike, hon. :)
I found this out today, try to avoid riding directly in the middle of the lane. Notice that the middle of the lane is usually darker than other places, my instructor told me that was oil! Cars leaking engine oils or something, a bit of moisture and it could cause you to slide.
i'm getting mine in like 2 weeks, any advice first time a passenger rides on back? my girlfriend really wants to ride and she's really lite so i think it won't be an issue, but i want to make sure i'm perfectly aware of what 2 people on a smaller bike really means.
Are you a new rider? you shouldnt ride with a passenger. not for the moment. safety first, no need to "look cool" or "show off". get comforable with the bike, learn after riding your local streets for some time. then when you've got a couple hundred miles, try a little bit with your girlfriend. BE SAFE. by riding with a passenger starting out. the fact is, you'll feel uneasy and nervous. slowly but surely, soon you can have her ride.. then again you may not heed this advice, but just be safe.
no.i won't mind my own business. he asked for advice and i gave it to him. perhaps YOU should mind your own business. perhaps one day if you ever even sit on a motorcycle, let alone ride it, you mind understand that a riders actions sometimes speak for others. safety first you poser squid fruit basket.

494 and fridley, looks great 2 practice on, i live in mpls and looking for a good and less traffic rode to start my break in process, im trying out the dukes method. i just ordered it from the hitching post, best service out of the 5 places i looked so they got my business, im 17 got my license, parents finally approve, 60 hour a week summer job to pay it off and cant wait to get my bike
have you dropped the bike at all ebing a new rider? I'm getting into riding too within the next month or so...people have been telling me buy used because I WILL drop it...im set tho on a new 08 250r
I'm also going to get a 2008 250r, and I have no experience with any motorcycles (well, scooters, do those count? HAHA). I'm going to get it this month, and I know I am going to drop it, it's not a matter of if, but of when. Shoot, if I was sure I would not drop it, I would get the zx-6r, but I am not trying to kill myself while learning to ride.
I met this guy Mike aka gettinginutube at the gay90's bar in minnesota! He had his bike parked up front and all the guys were all over him! I got to chatting with him and he told me that he had a bunch of you tube videos and what do ya know! He said if we ran into eachother again he would give me a ride. So mike if your reading this msg me and we will exchange numbers and you can ride me when ever you want!!
I have a question for you gettinginutube. Do you think that me standing at 6'2" would be too tall for this bike. I weigh about 160 so I don't think the weight would be an issue, but would I be too tall?
I wet to the dealer a few days ago, and the had 500s and 650s but no 250s. The size difference between the 650 and 500 was very small, i would imagine the difference between the 500 and 250 is also very small. Its just more narrow.

How ya doing mate, you said in your other video's that your a beginner.
Ive been riding for just over a year now, but i see you stick to the left side of the road, id say its better to stick on the white line in the middle of your lane - that way twats cant nearly hit you off your bike, but i also like riding on the far right so they cant do dangerouse overtaking like that.
But thats upto you and your driving style, im sure you've encountered that allready
im a dutch guy,so i dont understand anything about feet or foot or something like that,do you know your weight in kilo and your lenght in meters or centimeters?
So what you thinking of the bike bro?! you like it? Pros, and cons if any? let me know man. I'm dying to know. I got into the licensing class and I take it APril 27th and my bike comes sometime in April man. Should be here any day now.

A beginner should never carry a passenger for the first 6 months, if not longer. How the bike controls changes drastically once someone else is on.
