Great presentation!! If i ever make it rich ill look you guys up!!! The only thingg different i would of done would of been incorperated lightweight polymer /flexible solar pannel arrays onto the top of the ship to help provide even less co2 emissions,
@zeppship they are hybrids - a mix of aerodynamic lift and lighter-than-air. Zeppelin NT is a true airship flying in South Germany and San Francisco today.
For cargo transport you will need a hybrid as HAV or P-971.
This project is a vision - a concept. Hover cushions can be intergrated if that is better for the structural engineering.
You are right. The airship R&D didn't stop after Hindenburg. It has just been in the shadow. And now the airship technology is finally coming out of the shadow.
The skycat - now Hybrid Air Vehicles - has within the last year recieved two orders for their airships. One for a 50 tonner cargo transporter and one for a surveillance drone.
We did the project as a master graduation project. Its meant to be a form of inspiration of where this technology could have an impact in ten years.
All of the technology is there, but the investments are so large that it is really difficult for any one company to undertake a development in heavy duty cargo. But I think the development is coming.

1st I'd rather use hover cushions because what if an inflatible leg landed on a piece of sharp glass?
2nd The airships arenet coming back, they have just been in other aircraft's shadows
3rd The two vehicles you see at the end (skycat and p-791) are'nt even airships at all
