Honestly, as a soldier myself, I can't imagine a single soldier who doesn't pray or hold a bible when they are off to war. It is very rare you see a man or woman off to war who doesn't pray that it ends soon and they can go see thier family. You wanna see a Christian warrior look at your military. Okay so here is my take on this. It is a beautiful expression on what our country was founded on..The believe in God, be it any God that you choose to believe in. While yes 82% of people in the United States are Christian in some denomination, a belief in God does not exclude any other religion from that belief. Being American is having the passion for the country that you are a part of and standing strong and proud for the concept that you are free to choose any religion. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Non believers always beg for god when they are in trouble. He is not fooled. He has helped me through alot. I saw these guys in San Diego in 05 and the song got a THUNDEROUS ovation. Okay so here is my take on this. It is a beautiful expression on what our country was founded on..The believe in God, be it any God that you choose to believe in. While yes 82% of people in the United States are Christian in some denomination, a belief in God does not exclude any other religion from that belief. Being American is having the passion for the country that you are a part of and standing strong and proud for the concept that you are free to choose any religion. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Beautifully written. For my children, family, friends who don't believe, I pray for you. For those who like to read the comments and condemn those of us who believe, I try to forgive those people every day. I'm curious, when and where was this song banned? I never heard about it.
To all believers: the bible teaches us to love everybody,and to pray for our enemies. To Fall under our government. However, in this country, we get to vote. so if you don't like what happens, then VOTE. But trying to argue with the people that leave rude, nasty, or opposing comments, is like trying to tell satan he is wrong. Aint gonna happen. We should all do a little soul searching about our famous motto. In the Bible, it states that “In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth”. That would mean that God created the North American continent, and all of its living creatres of life. Surely, God
did not approve of the oppression of his Native Americans. We cannot be held responsible for the mis-deeds of our Founding Fathers, but we could set the record straight with our motto, by changinging it to read: “IN Truth We Trust”.

Just guessing... BUT it seems the ever lovely jordin36 is a liberal. My experience is that those who spout off "facts" and don't want to hear both sides of a discussion (especially politics) are most likely liberals. Closed minds not open to hearing and listening to the opposing side and discussing, perhaps even learning something, is just not interesting to them.
I, of course, am stereotyping and there must be liberals "out there" who are open to discussing controversial topics with class.

My goodness!! I was just reading some of the comments. We all are entitled to what we believe in. So everbody quit attacking everybody else and their beliefs. I just want to ask just one question.
