I like to be alone most of the time so I don't have to deal with other people's drama. During my high school years when I was a social butterfly, I had lots of fun but it came with a price. I had to be everyone's shoulder to cry on, everyone's listening ear, and the referee in many fights.
I have a kid in my class like that. But it annoys me sometimes when i ask him a question about something school related and he won't answer me. I asked him "hey, do you know what we have for homework?" he said nothing. I really wish he would talk though, because i do want to be his friend. But i respect the fact that he may or may not want to talk to me so i just leave hi alone most of the time. No matter how BADLY i wanna say something to him.

for me, its got to the point where the person next me gabs and gabs pauses and waits for me for some input...i just say "I don't feel like talking" or "You mind moving someplace else" and give him a blank stare until i see his face change. They usually quiet down and sometimes eventually move. Then i feel more comfortable and relax up.
I'm usually quiet but when you get to know me I open up a lot more! I just need to be around people who enjoy talking and can keep a conversation going. I'm more of a listener... But even though I'm quiet I do actually like to talk!

This is how I am. I will be reading or drawing or some other shit and someone will just randomly talk to me. In my mind, I'm saying "What." and they'll ask something and I just won't answer. So, I'm not one of the more "known" people.

I'm quiet all the time too, I talk alot.. with my friends, but when I'm around peopel that aren't my friends I don't talk to anyone, for instance, I'm on the bus, no one on the buss is my friends so I don't talk to anyone. At my High School, I was the quiet kid in all the classes. Then one day, something happen.People were talking around me but one conversation of about, I don't know, 4/5/6 people talking when I just randomly blurted out something that had something to do with what they were talking about but nothing regaurding me. At first they all laughed at me, sometimes I would just smile or other times I would just ask "why?" and still it they all talked about it plus sometimes joked with me if I was lucky :)

I, myself, can be very quiet. I don't talk in class unless called on, particularily due to the fact that most of my friends aren't in my classes and I don't really like the people who /are/ in my classes. Around certain people, my close friends, I can be a bit spontaneous, fun, and outgoing. However, I am horrible at making conversation; a bit socially awkward, if you needed a technical term. And I absolutely hate how I always have to be the one to start a conversation. They never turn out good.

i understand that you are trying to stand up for the social outcasts, but there are some standards that have good reason. like talking. to anyone! if this boy isnt talking, maybe he has some kind of problem like anxiety or phobia etc. although i think it is more of an authority figure's responsibility to see this person functions so they can be happy and have a job, it is nice of peers to encourage this behavior, but tis weird that the peer would get upset or pressure the kid to talk

for me, its got to the point where the person next me gabs and gabs pauses and waits for me for some input...i just say "I don't feel like talking" or "You mind moving someplace else" and give him a blank stare until i see his face change. They usually quiet down and sometimes eventually move. Then i feel more comfortable and relax up.

I've always been one of the quiet kids. It's not that I'm shy. Or... well... I am a little bit shy.. But that's not the problem. There are two reasons why I never talk; I don't know _how_ to talk to other people. And I just simply don't _have_ anything to say. So they kind of give up because they don't get anything out of me. I know it sounds weird, but that's how it is. I love it when people talk to me, but... I just don't know how to respond.

I'm quiet all the time too, I talk alot.. with my friends, but when I'm around peopel that aren't my friends I don't talk to anyone, for instance, I'm on the bus, no one on the buss is my friends so I don't talk to anyone. When my friends or anyone really say a characteristic about me I'm always named " The Quiet one" I liek that sometimes, but also don't.

At my High School, I was the quiet kid in all the classes. Then one day, something happen.People were talking around me but one conversation of about, I don't know, 4/5/6 people talking when I just randomly blurted out something that had something to do with what they were talking about but nothing regaurding me. At first they all laughed at me, sometimes I would just smile or other times I would just ask "why?" and still it they all talked about it plus sometimes joked with me if I was lucky :)

A lot of times I'm at loss for words, but other times I'm afraid I'll accidentally say something idiotic or personal that really shouldn't be said. Therefore, I pretty much only text or type cause then I can think out and edit everything said before I respond to who I'm talking to. Only my closest friends do I speak to vocally.

I'm pretty quiet, and I usually don't talk much during the school day. Socialising just doesn't make sense to me sometimes--especially small talk. I don't get it. People want you to talk with them, but they talk about the stupidest things. It bothers me when people are all like "Why are you so quiet?" I mean, what kind of an answer am I supposed to give? I, myself, can be very quiet. I don't talk in class unless called on, particularily due to the fact that most of my friends aren't in my classes and I don't really like the people who /are/ in my classes. Around certain people, my close friends, I can be a bit spontaneous, fun, and outgoing. However, I am horrible at making conversation; a bit socially awkward, if you needed a technical term. And I absolutely hate how I always have to be the one to start a conversation. They never turn out good.

I am one of the Quiet Kids and it's not cause I can't or anything. I'm just private. I've always been quiet cause my older sister has "talked" for me since I was a baby. I hold everything in and when I talk it's always the about the other person or nonsense. UNLESS you're just someone I feel like I can trust. One of my teachers would always embarress me infront of the class and everyone would laugh, then the same thing happened in college and again at work. i understand that you are trying to stand up for the social outcasts, but there are some standards that have good reason. like talking. to anyone! if this boy isnt talking, maybe he has some kind of problem like anxiety or phobia etc. although i think it is more of an authority figure's responsibility to see this person functions so they can be happy and have a job, it is nice of peers to encourage this behavior, but tis weird that the peer would get upset or pressure the kid to talk

that is how i used to be around ppl i didnt know. i grew up a very sheltered life and as a result i was painfully shy. after i got older and moved out thp i started meeting soooo many new ppl i HAD to open up a little. now im comfortable talking to complete strangers:)

i agree! i am quiet and one could call me antisocial or unfriendly. most of the times i just don't want to be bothered by you or i just don't want to talk. i have plenty of things to say, i just keep them to myself.

I agree. I can be quiet alot of times since either i dont want to talk, i dont want to be bothered, or i have nothing to say. Its not a bad thing. I dont think ppl should pressure quiet ppl to talk. Just respect them. I dont think its bad if you just say hi to them or ask how are you and leave them be if they dont want to talk more. (i think its nice when ppl do that but thats just me)

It's so true. Im one of those people who doesnt talk much and people get so worked up over nothing just bcuz I wont talk. So all you see if a bunch of people around you kicking stuff or screaming just bcuz I wont talk. xD it's kind of funny but really annoying. Sometimes I wish they would just go away.

I hope everyone I know sees this. Then maybe they'll leave me alone. I'm very quiet lol. It's not as though I have nothing to say; I have a LOT. I just have nothing to say to these "paper" people (yes, I just referenced Paper Towns there. But that's because that perfectly describes where I live).
