@60NO60 Complicated weapons require maintenace in order to function. How well would you expect a handgun worn by an undead to work after it's been holstered for years and years? Of course there'd be millions upon millions of weapons around. Thing is, everyone will grab machineguns, assault rifles, pistols, revolvers and such. Thereby wearing out the weapons and firing off all the ammunition, Even though people will make their own, it will still be nowhere near the ammounts needed.

You won't find functional handguns, assault rifles, submachine guns, or anything of the sort around for long, if the world is struck by a zombie apocalypse.... It'll be simple things, like hunting rifles, shotguns, swords, staves, axes. Hell... rakes and shovels will be prized posessions.

zombie apocalypse is actually the most likely apocalypse, there are already fungus that control small animals and even things as large as rats, making them extremely aggressive and suicidal.

A crowbar is actually a great weapon. Its a close combat, wont break when bashing in a zombies skull, and can open any doors you are having trouble with. Plus you can pretend your playing Half Life Episode 3... Which is never coming.

what ... training in guns is a bad idea ro ...

first of all the chance of you having a gun / aquiring one in the very possible situation of an apocalypse is very minor... you will most propably be gun-less for quite a few zombie attacks

and second of all ammunition is rare in zombie times! if you'd train yourself in long-range melee weapons like spears & staffs your chances of long time-survival d drastically improve
