GROM: Mazda CX-7 '07 iPod Interface Adapter Installation HOWTO

I have a 2008 Mazda CX-7 and since installing the GROM my radio isn't working. I can use the CD changer, AUX, etc, just not the radio itself. Any insight?

You pushed the CD button? Does that mean the CD player will no longer work? I would have though the "AUX" button would have activated the iPOD....

@tobzzbot nevermind, I read all the pages of the comments. Can you select what to listen to before you start playing?

@tobzzbot You need to press CD button twice and then you will access the GROM unit. Built-in CD changer will remain working, external will have to be disconnected. Most Mazda have built-in CD changer.

whats the main porpouse for this mod? i have a cx7 2009 and all i do is plug my ipod using the aux cable ,so what whould be the difference?

@mazchile2304 The Mazda it's being installed on is an '07. '07's don't have aux cable standard.

Great! Last question. With my iPhone, would I still be able to listen to Pandora (an app seperate from iTunes)? That is why I usually like aux inputs because I can still listen to pandora and the phone is not locked. What is the part number? Thanks!

CD and everything keep working. Device acts as external CD changer.

Excellent video.

Mazda Australia are quite "Anal" & we get the screen but no GPS. On top of that, we get no "Ipod" adaption on this version either. A double wammy from Mazda-Oz.

Would love to hear about a solution. Will use this video for plumbing a boost gauge in the centre air vent & a turbo timer down below.

Hi, I have a CX-7 2008 and I have a question.

I bought it with the ipod cable, but when I want to play my music with this cable, I have to press de CD button. I think its not normal. I think its suppose to be the media button.

Also, I cannot choose my music, it is always a random playlist. If i choose a tune on my ipod and then I plug in, its another music that comes out.

But you will have to disable the Sirius.

My 2007 Mazda 3 has both GPS navigation and SIRIUS satellite radio, will this work for it? I don't use SIRIUS so it's OK to disable SIRUS.
