  • @ 0:59 VIGO THE CARPATHIAN

  • Whenever i tell my friends to watch this movie they check out the trailer and claim "It's gay." I somewhat agree, this trailer does not do the movie justice. In the mouth of madness is absolutely incredible.

  • @simpsoncheat FUCK THAT GAME! THAT GAME SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!

  • @simpsoncheat I believe they are currently working on a film adaptation of At the Mountains of Mandess. Definitely looking forward to it.

  • One of the most intelligent horror movies ever. The greatest movie tribute to Lovecraft was never a direct adaptation of his stories, it is this. Thanks John C :)

  • I saw this movie a long time ago. But it still haunts me today...

  • What is that score they play during the climax of this trailer? I know it was used for the Jason Goes to Hell trailer.

  • they're gonna play this at my local Belgian cinema this month. can't wait cause i never found the DVD.

  • Top 3 horror flick in my book!

  • cheers

  • one of the biggest mind fucks ive ever seen...and i havent even seen the full movie yet 0.o

  • @maxwuzhere2248 I just watched it. What drivel! Amateur dialogue, cheap scares (not all that scary anyway), and awful, wooden acting, especially by Julie Carmen. It TRIES to be a mind fuck, but not very hard. For a good mindfuck movie to work there has to be an element of plausibility, clever twists and good writing. All absent. It is just silly.

  • Sorry if this question has already been answered, but what's that music from that starts playing at 1:11?

  • Great Movie to See! I Saw the Full version of It!

    Go M0viezFull.hot.to

  • That Movie is superior! I watched it full at GetFullMoviezz.18.to

  • John Carpenter movies belong to one of the best horror movies.

  • Interestingly, Julie Carmen went on to become a psychotherapist...

  • Stephanie Meyer is Sutter Cane, and not in the terms of an badass horror writer, but as a fucked up writer who writes demonic stuff that turns readers into zombies

  • @apologyisnothepolicy What are you talking about? Teenage girls already are demonic zombies!

  • @FabioP15 it's tribute to HP Lovecraft as well as Stephen King

  • lol

  • You'd scream too, you big sissy.

  • Sounds like the title to an HP Lovecraft.

  • @Nagneto watch the movie, you'll shit yourself because its stephen king basically paying tribute to him.

  • Ha i remember watching this when i was little.

  • whats this movie about?

  • @Ontite an insurance guy go find a crazy writer who writes about scary weird shit but even more fucked up shit happend =D

  • DUDE....THIS MOVIE WAS SICK!!!!

  • Do you read Sutter Cane?

  • @Twilightsucksalotful whoa! oh wow we were just talking I thought. Forgive me for thinking I was discoursing with a reasonable human being--I guess the name and posts should have clued me in on your mental stability. My bad. I was far from butt-hurt, just curious about you, for the record. I think butt-hurt people are the ones who stoop to name-calling, so again, forgive me for working up your issues. Peace.

  • @Twilightsucksalotful Ok, I get why you don't like it, but I just meant to the extent of making your whole youtube name to reflect that...and make random posts about your hatred...it just seems you'd be happier making your name into something you liked and focusing on what you liked. I mean lol this is about In the Mouth of Madness, not Twilight and I find it interesting that you needed to shoehorn your Twi-pain into it. :/

  • @blairwitch63 DNFTT

  • @Twilightsucksalotful wow a Twilight fan must have hurt you....a lot!

  • what's this movie suppose to be about? is it about an evil guy killing people.

  • Anyway, criminally underrated movie. When I decided to look it up on RT, I was surprised how badly it was rated. Rotten my ass.

  • Not to mention that Carpenter himself has said that it's a tribute to Lovecraft.

  • What does this film have to do with Lovecraft? Well, there's is the general idea of ancient evil Gods lying outside of our reality waiting for their chance to break back in -one of which is a dead ringer for Cthulhu itself; hidden evil things happening in a normal-seeming rural New England town; books that drive their readers insane; a reclusive author of horror stories with names like "The Hobbs End Horror" compared to Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror."

  • The final part of Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy (The Thing & Prince of Darkness r the other two parts). Homage to the writings of H.P. Lovecraft.

  • hp lovecraft has a similar title.. at the mountains of madness..

  • @tascott59 Really?

  • why can I not get this film on DVD in the UK

  • @electricEntity81 get it from pirate bay

  • @fightermma cheers

  • @electricEntity81 did you get it?

  • @fightermma no not yet

  • Whoever's seen this movie, you guys should check out the thread on this movie's IMDB page called "Anybody see this on acid?" Reading it made my day.

"A friend of my brother's dropped acid and went to this in the theater. When it was over, the people working there had to kick him out because he was too afraid to go outside, out of fear that everybody was demons or whatever. Pretty funny."

  • I'm not insane! If his not I'm not!! Lol love that part!!

  • anyone ever see jacobs latter

  • @dwenthe2 Yeah. It's not very good.

  • @dwenthe2 That movie is just another in the long list of films that rip off "Occurrence at Owl Creek"

  • @UncleMilo Influenced by perhaps. Not ripped off. It's a completely different medium anyway.

  • Do you read Sutter Cane?

  • great movie

  • "The King in Yellow" *cough cough*

  • when he said the movie comes out next month i lauuuughed soooo hard

  • Our teacher in 9th grade showed us this movie, after he had to take a quiz on it.

I was waaaay into the movie.

  • watched it last night. i now have a new favourite movie :) scared the crap out of me, half because of all the crazy people and half because i had no idea what was real and wasn't the whole time :P !

  • I don't remember Christine scaring anyone.

  • I don't see why people have to diss Saw. The first one was really good. It's not it's fault it went into total sequel decay. The movies of the 80s went through a lot of that too, you know. Don't tell me you guys would like Friday the 13th Part 7.

Anyway, yeah, John Carpenter movie. That automatically makes it a damn good movie.

  • @fastbreak333 I agree with you. The first Saw was great. Orignally the writer of Saw wanted to be one movie, but the company said, no, we're gonna make a sequel and the writer can't do anything about it 'cause he signed the contract and it goes by the movie company ownership.

  • I personally love this movie, while i'm into bloody and gory violent movies as much as the next guy, i love this as it was more a mindfuck kind of horror, along with being a total love letter to H.P. Lovecraft.

  • just finished watching this and personally, i think the movie is a waste of time....sucked more than ass....

  • i watched this film as a child and I still feel when Im driving like im going to see the scary one in the bycicle next to my car window uuuuhhh chillssssss

  • Never read the book (going to do that), never heard of movie (going to do that), and I was born in 92! WHT. Thank you Bennett The Sage.

  • Alan Wake, the movie

  • Wait... is this the movie that was based off of H. P. Lovecraft's "Pickman's Model"?

  • @edisjigsaw12 In a sense, yes. But the books the guy in the movie writes are more than that.

  • @Twilightsucksalotful

There actually was a book like this that shares the same title written by H.P. Lovecraft. While the film and the book have very little (if anything) in common, the film draws influence from Lovecraft's mythos.

  • i can't believe this movie made only 8 million in the US. Pretty shameful.

  • I bet that book is The Da Vinci Code

  • I was like :-/ but after the bicycle scene I was like :-o

  • what a fucking film! def one of Carpenter's best. "do you read sutter cane?"

  • Loved this movie! The old lady ridin on the bicycle was s0o creepy!

  • the scary part about this film is its reflective on whats happening now cas in point the the twilight books/films and too think when i saw this film i thought it was too farfetched.

  • still dont see how this is "Apocalypse" based alongside the thing

  • Fuk Yea a found it trailer coz ave been look fi dis fi years

  • @Jamie4Michaela My god... What did you just do to my poor language?

  • i saw this when i was 9....HOLY FUCK it was scary

  • 0:55 "see this? its a map." yeah....cause you ripped it into the shape of one...

  • @RetardedChickenVids

there were red lines on each of Cane's books. Sam Neil's character saw them and cut the book following the lines, and saw that they were like puzzle pieces that formed a map.

  • @RetardedChickenVids did you even watch this?

  • @Lexy4Edward I did actually.

  • @RetardedChickenVids Actually, while he did tear the covers off the books, there were actually odd-looking shapes in the cover art that, once cut out precisely, formed the map. So it's not like he tore up the covers and just stuck them together and said, "It's a map." That map was indeed already there, split over however many covers there were.

  • @RetardedChickenVids he was actually cutting out the puzzle shapes following the red line drawn on each cover.

  • @RetardedChickenVids dumbass. the red lines on the covers formed the map

  • This is serioulsy in my top ten films by John Carpenter. Great tribute to H.P. Lovecraft!!!

  • The paintings freaked me out!

  • love this one

  • Is this a remake of Argento's Tenebrae? The premises are similar.

  • Another Sam Neil goody is "Event Horizon"

  • @414730 Sam Neil did awesome in that movie, but Paul ruined it. Event Horizon had such an awesome premise and they did nothing with it.

  • thats why i switch to porn.its always about loving the society n embracing each other

  • One of my three favorite films, just as epic as The Wall & Fight Club

  • she is a terrible actress.

  • One of my all-time favorite movies, Carpenter and Sam Neill fuckin rock!

  • One of the best movie out there, for real.

  • Great Lovecraft style movie.

  • i actually felt a tad insane after watching this, it's like you don't really know what to believe in the end and it truly does fuck your head round, amazingly underrated movie

  • this movie and "cigarette burns" are john carpenters best besides christine!

  • @J8neSez and the Thing.

  • @BrettRathbone26

    Lets not forget Halloween, and

    Escape From New York! lol

  • @WILDBILLXTREMES Oh yeah, them too.

  • well loox like somebody doesnt like stephen king

  • what is this movie about? a book becoming real?

  • LEOG!

  • Truely a fan of JOHN CARPENTOR & STEPHEN KING . The movie is great.

  • I hate books where the good guy didn't at least save the girl in the end... totally drives me crazy!!! To the extent of picking up a pen and writing a book where the good guy makes it, the girl makes it, and the bad guy makes it.

  • "Have you read Sutter Cane?"

"I know this book could drive people crazy!" "The book's out. The movie comes out next month."

    Cue insane cries.

  • "This movie will shred your sanity, twist your soul, devour your heart and leave you in the mouth of madness!"

    "Madness?! THIS.. IS... SPARTA!"

  • man, this brings back memorys...I saw this first run back in 95. It really is one of Carpenter's best films....and me being a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, it was even better....must buy it for my horror collection.

  • They don't make horrormovies like this anymore, which is a shame.

  • It's weird how this is probably the best Lovecraft movie when it isn't even based on his books

  • "THE BEST"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this movie, and I really enjoy the entire Apocalypse trilogy, even though Prince of Darkness was kinda out there. Carpenter is a genius.
