  • Two top comments bitching @discoverydavid? Someone screwed up! -.-

  • 2012 sure to be an interesting year. Will Mayan prophecy hold any truth? Our voices of discontent in the 60's have resurfaced in our children with the occupy movement. Still we have have wars, poverty, and our mother Earth facing severe ecological consequences if we continue on our present path. Time to "get back to the land" before it's to late.

  • @goodtees what mayan prophecy? There was none the calender started thousands of years earlier because it measures the ecliptic which reaches the edge of the universe this year thats all nothing else .No prophecy planet earth will still be here for a long time yet and so will humans!

  • It's coming BACK!....Nothing is new beside the energy of this song! SPEAK OUT! If you dare? ......................But, you know what's happennning.............PLUG IN and CARRY ON brother's and sister's...........the darkest hour is alwasys right before the DAWN!...........Occupy~

  • @mark1952able Cannot say but the same: agree for the same 100% too! People, join in!!!!

  • The rock music is the better of the american culture specialy the 60's-70's

  • honestly if i had a time machine and go back to any time in history it would forsure be woodstock

  • @de1afgun I agree 100%.

  • this is cool

  • i heard he is also a moaney old fecker,

and wanted to be the center of attn all the time

  • i'll never understand how certain people still insist that Steven Stills is one of the premier guitarist of the sixties (or any other era for that matter). Having just seen him last night (for the 5th or 6th) time I have yet to see any guitar prowse with the man. He is... just... okay and nothing more. Entertaining yes, but thats about it. Maybe if he wasnt so permeated with drugs then he might have been better.

    just my opinion. KISSES!!

  • great footage man!

  • we gotta get back to the garden!

  • This song is perfect for the opening of Woodstock...I love the hippies riding the horses

  • @merr497 That's not a "hippy" riding that's Michael Lang one of the promoter's of Woodstock...He still wears that same haircut 42 years later today and lives right outside Woodstock about 3 miles from where I live...He's part of the establishment from back then and still is...No big deal but this guy was always too full of himself and still is...

  • @jobe69 I wasn't talking about him..I like the ones in the beginning of the video riding the horses..I know who Mike is!!!!!!!!!

  • @jobe69 Hey Jobe ~ I've often wondered what became of the original Woodstock stage? Being farm country, I suspect the lumber was used for other projects after the festival. Do you know if there is any of it left? I missed my chance at having a piece of the Cross or the Ark, but I sure wouldn't mind having a piece of that stage. Thanks.

  • @FLSHBK1 You can get a piece of the chain link fence that has been made into a peace emblem pendant. Nice guy named Joe makes them up in Bethel NY. Just goolgle fence, peace emblem, Woodstock. Peace.

  • OCCUPY!!!

  • no comments just listen the music

  • good music always talk for itself

  • !!!!!!!!&&&&!!!!! Great!

  • yes its amazing the amount of younger people who love this music and so it shall carry onwards and upwards to this and the next generation

  • The Banana Splits??? (2:26)

  • i would have loved to have been at this and monterrey pop festivel,i was born in november 1968 share my birthday with jimi hendrix and absolutely love the psychedelic music and all the 1960s music.it was an exciting time.

  • @1968davidcassin Here is another fan from music of that time: I was born september 1968....gues I owe my non-conformistic character to this time, and I love it! And you will be surprised to know that many youngsters of the newest generation share a love for music of that era still!!

  • rock on

  • the guy at 2:49 could pass for David Crosby. lol

  • Mine is a 3.2 liter engine. The Porsche in the clip looks like a pre 1971 model. Very doubtuful it had a 2.7 liter engine. At best a 2.0 or maybe 2.2 liter.

  • Yes your grandparents started this and glastonbury WE WERE THERE

  • It appears the time has got here now.

  • ure video? u their u luccckkky lol

  • Just wondering if the Porsche at 2:21 was a 911 0r 912. Neat car either way.

  • @bohemianracer I think it's a 911. First, because it has smaller headlights than a 912.

The European 912 was build from 65' till 69' The USA version of the 912 (called the 912E) was introduced in 1976. Since this video is from 69' I guess it's a 911.

    Cheers Rick (Porsche freak myself)

  • Comment removed

  • @RickRR22 Hi Rick, thanks. I am to a Porsche nut myself and hace an 85 911 Carrera.

  • @bohemianracer Very nice! That's a 3.0 SC I guess? It's my dream owning a classic Porsche someday...

I want to add something to my previous comment though: I dont know for sure if this particular video clip is from 1969, or just the audio. If the footage is from beyond 1976 it could be a 912E (first series released in the USA) or a 911 with the legendary 2.7 liter flat-6. Those to are very hard to compare externally.

  • this was written after robert kennedy was assasinated, at least that's what i 've always heard. just my two cents.

  • well i 18 love this music it coool man :)

  • Just enjoy the video and the music.

  • wow, I can see some folks completely missed the message of this music. Their loss. All of you who took part in this nonsensical bs argument, should just stop. Take it somewhere else. The whole vibe of woodstock went right over your heads. Take it somewhere else. best of luck to you folks.

  • End the bickering, thank you....

  • ...at least in years 60, have tried to improve the their existing time when freedoms essential were obtained in the field, but now all those who are critical comfortably, the protest current or are concerns financial or personal frustration!...we neglect of child abuse ( pedophilia ), female genital mutilation ( infibulation ) for tribal customs, genocide, bullying and all that detrimental to human dignity...let us enjoy the music that is really democracy, thanks!

  • If my english goes better someday I will argue with some bitter people I´am reading here, but meanwhile I would say, take a time to think about the meanings of something that went beyond its borders, both mental and phisical and was not only a local phenomena. Facts are facts, something (I believe much more than something) changed, explanations come after the facts, and don´t modify them.

  • hahaaha that 6x6 is awesome at 2:26 where can i get one of those?

  • This one the greatest songs i every heard

  • 64 people obviously hate life

  • pure beauty

  • fucking brown colored people been causing all kind of trouble.that is why they are getting fucked up.israel is to blame.

  • Crosby shouldn't sing solo on anything . I've heard better in church and they suck.

  • great song just to groove along to man

  • We all need to wake up to reality and stop living a life of illusion , it goes much deeper than the corruption in the governnent, it is the next step in our evolution and is just the most amazing thing , Search "truth contest" on Google , Click the 1st link , and Read the Present (universal truth) , it is mind blowing and is important everyone sees it , send me a message if you have any questions .

  • I like turtles.

  • Whats that vehicle on 2:25 ???

  • @thecannabisking The irony of someone named "TheCannabisKing" calling out hippies for being stoners is excruciating... you're either a complete fuckhead or an excellent troll. But I bet you're the same kind of dumbass who wears a sideways hat with the tags still on it and boots with no laces.

  • @Sypher49SH The Cannabisking is all that you mentioned times 10 plus anything you forgot to mention.

  • SIMPLY THE BEST

  • Be political. Stop hating. Enjoy the music. Tea Party Republican.

  • @gerby90 I suppose you feel empowered to say things about people you don't even know. The problem with the world is narrow minded people who judge others without knowing who they are. I was always told if you argue with a fool you are a fool, therefore, I will ignore your ridiculous statement. The music of this era was important.

  • Peace from Canada.

  • This just reminds me how gorgeous upstate NY is.

  • Whats that mini car in 2:25 ? I want it !

  • 62 people have been gone too long !!

  • *cool*

  • Young Cricket, I am aware that the roots of SS were started in the 30"s but it wasn't until the 60's-70's that it was applied fairly and equally to all Americans who paid into the system for approx. 10 years, be they women, a minority, people working for the government, self-employed, ect.

  • can't tell how much I love this vid! the construction of Woodstock in upstate NewYork on farm land that looks exactly like my grandparent's place just 40 miles away..I was only 4 when Woodstock happened, but man I wish I had been there to experience something that is in the annals of American history..beautiful thanks for sharing...peace

  • PEACE MAN!

  • For everyone wishing to go back in time, you dont need to, whats stopping us from making music like this today? Why must we think so much about the past? we can stop all the shit that is happening these days and make our own classic music. Theres nothing stopping you. Death to Dubstep!!!

  • @SStoge21 for real. But nobody wants to give the effort it takes to move an entire generation with music and protest

  • @XtraPibbDude you, the people and i will change this world and we dont have to wait long

  • This generation re-wrote World War Three and very few people Know it!

Now the place is back to gung-ho corporate puke again- and for earth destroying, quality of life lowering OIL of all things....

The cops had to burn down the last Woodstock ten years back or so cause that's what fascists are like- I'd like to get them down and grow some hair on their empty skinheads!

  • One of the great songs by one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • "You've got to speak out against the madness."

More relevant now than ever. We're living in the maddest and most insane fucking times.

  • @judgenutmeg1977 No way due, genocides used to be an excepted way of life, a country could march into yours at any moment and wipe you out for no reason. You should only be so lucky to live now . . . just sayin

  • @99burbanxxx The british and anglo-american empire is committing genocide on a daily basis under the guise of 'freedom'. Hundreds of thousands of innocent brown-coloured people have been slaughtered in the last ten years for the occupation of their land and it's country's resources. We're being lied to.

Open your eyes, take a deep breath, step back and take a good look around at the world you're living in.

    ...just sayin'.

  • Left the security oh home and hit Haight Street at 16, in 66'..was at woodstock69.. seen it all, done it al, was there till the end in 77'. Still fighting the good fight, for Peace, Love and RocknRoll in Texas

  • I LOVE CROSBY!

  • peace man........

  • Was 19 years old, living in northern NJ...should have gone....Oh Well ! Life goes on!

  • @gto66solstice08 I, too was ninetene. I went to a three day event two weeks after Woodstock outside Dallas, TX. Most of the same people were there and I was too. There is a website for the event. It was glorious. It was exceedingly hot. it was esceedingly fantastic. I was so fucked up and high on the environment there. What a time was had by all except for the guy who died on the first day and the lady who gave birth that same day. Outrageous to be nineteen. Spent the rest in San Fran

  • Great video. Thanks.

  • I dig this song!

  • I don't know about you other baby boomers but i get real nostalgic for the early 70s when i see this and listen to the classic rock here. Kind of sad too for what has been going on in the world.

This is the background music of another video of the peace march in DC April 1971 of which i was a part.

  • Weed is jamaican health product!

  • dont eat the blue acid

  • Django...i'm LMAO!

  • What a wonderful moment in living memory. Unfortunately, it was lost in the other, more horrific events of that time (Altamont, Manson killings, Kent State, e.g.). Defintely a long time gone....

BTW, cutting your hair is the least of your problems if you get elected!

  • I love david crosby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah a good life.¡

  • while all the white people was being peaceful and loving to everybody except the military troops the blacks were rioting and burning the cities down. and that was the beginning of where were at now.

  • @MrReb74 You dont have the facts .You werent even born when what you describe in your comment happened. You believe all the propaganda. A little racist too.

  • @MrReb74 What cities?Do you have a clue what the words"Human Right's" mean?Trust me they are what you want but would deny anyone outside your small racist box.You have no idea what it was like living in America in the 60's and Black.Blacks were not allowed to drink at "white" drinking fountains, eat at all white restaurants or stores, their schools were no more than run down shacks, not allowed to vote,if Black you could fight in Vietnam but no one would hire you.Read the Constitution.Grow up..

  • The darkest hour is just before the dawn.

  • @shinrite Batman!

  • i was 18 in 68, where have all the flowers gone?

  • @altocumulas

It is amazing, isn't it? What have they done to our world???

  • I am convinced that I am growing up in the wrong era

  • @kimsterjizznugget

Then you are. I really thought that people would increase their knowledge and the world would produce more righteous and knowegeable people. I was wrong. things are worse now then ever, and I mean the people.

God Bless you for being attracted to righteousness. The answer lies in the return to the garden (of Eden), The Kingdom of God which is coming.

  • is that depp at 2:oo

  • YOUNG PEOPLE WERE SO BACK THEN, NOW ITS WORLD OF PUNKS

  • @PsychedelicMonkeys17- Go overdose in a tub you introspective hippie

  • @PsychedelicMonkeys17 - Why the is your generation lost, And whats really wrong with society, is the stigma that the younger people are suppose to be the activist when the reality is that the younger generation doesn't have nearly as much say as older generations. Now these baby boomer hippies, that could of been spending their time actually doing some proactive activism, they are unemployed losers depending on their gov't checks. They are almost more pathetic than the people they protested...

  • @TheCannabisKing Go troll somewhere else .You are nothing but a little kid who couldnt grow a dandelion let alone reefer. Time for bed little boy.

  • @TheCannabisKing

I happen to be one of those baby boomer hippies and along with 50k more we shut down the I5 freeway in 1969 protesting the war in Viet Nam. Our music changed what you listen to,our demands saved thousands of lives on both sides, our values started SS, Medicare, Medicaid, to care for our elderly. We demanded better education, healthcare, conditions for workers, less censorship, better music, the computer, men on the moon, educational TV, you have no idea what your talking about.NONE!

  • @TheRobberoo I couldnt say it better myself.

  • @TheRobberoo heyas! I'm a fellow 'boomer' who was at Woodstock. Well put my brother! ...here ....ssswwwfffffffftttttt ....(cough) ....have another hit bro! ;))

  • @JubaL609 Love your humor, brother. Was there at Woodstock also. Give me a hit of that. Dont Bogart it .

  • @TheRobberoo Talkin'bout nothingness I guess ...

  • @TheRobberoo I'm a bit younger, and I agree with almost everything. But started SS? That was way before the sixties. You have to get all your facts straight, or those a-holes in the suits will discredit it all, based on one bad note. Peace.

  • @TheRobberoo right on

  • @TheRobberoo I totally agree with you but now They want to take it all back.

  • @TheRobberoo Thanks, I would probably be dead right now without my Medicaid. I have no idea how those great ideas can come back to life. There's still a good bit of fight left in us though. All generations have their weak points. Maybe it will take the generation that came before you guys to die off, leaving you guys at the top. Many of us are waiting and ready. No more fleeing countries. I am a US born citizen and will die trying to save what it was supposed to be.

  • @wmc1982 I hope you will consider supporting the Occupy movement. These folks just want jobs, a fair shake,an even playing field and access to the American Dream.Fewer and fewer Americans have access to the American Dream these days. The more money the Wall Streeters make the more of our lives they will control, that control ships jobs overseas, breaks unions, lays off teachers, firefighters, police, and small businesses, who's next ?you and me.They want to privitize SS, Medicare, etc OCUPPY !

  • @TheRobberoo I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the information. From what I've read so far, it does address many of the problems I have seen. We better stand up while we still can. Free speech is going out the window along with the Constitution. They already are calling the Occupy "mob's". Either way things will collapse. I just hope it's done in a manner we can rebuild. Taking over the structure before it fully collapses sounds ideal. Occupy sounds good to me :)

  • @wmc1982 We act like we are a stand alone economy when in reality the world is a big game of economical dominio's.We"trust"that other countries won't invest in the US then panic and run the banks. In our rush to make a very small % wealthy,we have allowed imports without demanding that the importers open markets to our exports. We can't compete in the world markets unless we put equalizing tarrifs on imports but the repugs want"free markets"which break the back of US workers.Occupy for HOPE!

  • @discoverydavid Say what?Cool? If not wanting to come home in a box was "cool," count me in.

If resisting a president who cared less about the lives of younger Americans and thus instituted a draft was cool,I'm all in.If those killed at Kent State were"being cool," and the strengthening of solidarity across this nation as a result was"cool," color us cool. You lack a clue,as life and death were in the balance perhaps more so than today. You can't marginalize what we did."We'll Stay Cool"Occupy!

  • @discoverydavid

It wasn't the baby Boomers who did this to you. It was Ronald Reagan and his neo-cons. Believe it, because it's the truth. Corporate America, Wall Street and the banks are strangling us all.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid

No, kid. The president of the USA is my age.

    We are... and you aren't.

Your generation is overall the weakest to have existed in several centuries. Raised on mediocrity, poorly educated, poorly socialized (thanks to the internet), spoon-fed corporate crappola since birth and groomed to gleefully enlist to be cannon fodder in Mideast oil wars.

The robber barons are feeding upon your generation like vampires and yet... you're being smug..? Try being angry instead.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid

I didn't "appoint" myself as anything.

I simply said that you're generation are a bunch of infantilized losers.

And you are. So deal with it. And have a nice day. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid You couldnt know what it was like to grow up in the sixties. And dont say that we created you. At least we tried to right some wrongs . And succeeded at some.

  • @discoverydavid So you want to personalize this. I wasnt middle class. I grew up poor. I had to work for everything I have. Been in a war zone and got shot at. I didnt get a medal and didnt want one.I just wanted to make it home. And after all these years, it seems that you are the one who is doing the spitting.

  • @goodthing52 I love ya man ,,,Well put for all who ramain

  • @discoverydavid The counter-cultural revolution that was the youth movement of the 1960's helped cripple the commonly accepted plagues of racism, sexism, and religious extremism that were all pillars of mainstream American culture at the time. If you don't know, don't talk.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid Here you go again. Go somewhere else with your bullshit.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid You are the stalker. You go to these type of videos because you know who the kind of people are that listen to them. Then you TRY to ruin their day with your idiotic comments.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid There you go spitting again but all you are doing is sloberring on youself. You are an intellectual coward. You cannot hide behind your shallowness of what you think is wisdom and you cant pretend you know what a soup kitchen is. It is time I flushed the toilet. BYE.

  • @discoverydavid For somebody who seems to constantly ask what other people have done, I'd be very interested to know exactly what you've done with your life besides being a pretentious, self-important cunt. The pseudo-intellectual act is all well and good, just try to stop talking like a retard with a thesaurus and saying "discourse" 10 times in every comment you leave, good lad.

  • Comment removed

  • @discoverydavid

You've an opinion, and that's a precious thing xxx

  • @Aardvarked88 I'll be damned if I'm going to allow you to cast aspersions toward us "retards". We have our OWN message, preconceived status, and historical precedence..

  • @JohnGee1977 What.

  • @TheGreatStonedOne in 2012 you will see a counter-counter cultural revolution against Pervertion, immorality, drugs, abortion, homosexuality that are pillars of mainstream American culture

  • @TheGreatStonedOne

Unfortunately while you are correct, these pillars were replaced by far worse plagues like acceptance of any kind of immoral behaviour and the movement did nothing to deal with the hypocrisy that existed then within society, hence America is not really any better off. Same as here in the UK.

Nice music though, this song is class!

  • @TheRobberoo Oh.. so you're one of the hippies that turned over cars and lynched innocent people because you were too high or too stupid to care. Social Security was started by FDR in 1935 so I doubt you had your hands on that project. You started Medicare and Medicaid, two of the most abused programs in the U.S.. But you probably don't care about that since you're 50 and still living on welfare, so people like me can WHO PAY TAXES can carry your burden. Thanks for fucking up america, ass hole.

  • @ellohell700I Unlike you, I cared about troops who were coming home in boxes in masse?Working on a Masters prohibited getting high Oh I cared only unlike yourself I cared about something and somebody other than myself. If petitioning to get out of Nam was fucking up America I'm guilty. So what have you done for America?I've never been on welfare, and my guess is I have paid a lot more taxes then you ever will,& I didn't bitch like a little girl about it Oh and that's America with a capital A.

  • @TheRobberoo

Bzzzt: wrong answer thanks for playing.

SS, Medicare, Medicaid were all started long before the late 60's, look it up.

Baby boomer hippies are part of the problem and not the solution. Y'all are in fact blocking any attempts at rectifying the situation with your socialistic entitlement mentality.

  • @InPogForm:Medicare was passed into law on July 30,1965, Medicaid was created on July 30,1965, also. Had you taken more time to read the posts instead of a knee jerk reaction, you would have realized another person called me on Social Security and I replied //"the roots of SS were started in the 30"s but it wasn't until the 60's-70's that it was applied fairly and equally to all Americans//Your blind anger isn't becoming.Bush was given to blind anger & look at the crap he got us into.
