Everyone, there is a bigger story here. Lucas and Toole were both involved with a satanic cult called "The hand of death". They both verified it and the guy who interviewed lucas wrote a book about it. Lucas would later recant, but toole kept talking about it in a later interview, and said that Lucas recanted because authorities threatened him with the death penalty if he kept talking about. So he stopped talking, and sure enough, got clemency. Google the interview "Cannibal Kid"

They now believe they have attained this b/c the cops confirmed Toole as the killer. The cops' misdeed could also endanger others.
