If you're patient you can housetrain a chicken. I had a mostly-indoor chicken, and she would let us know when she needed to go outside. It took a lot of training.

That is a Rhode Island Red Right? Call me crazy if you want, but im a big chicken lover! At my house we dont only have just 44 chickens of all sorts of breeds, we also have peacocks, Turkeys, Guineas, Polishes, and Pehens (well we used to). Im verry happy to see that you actually let your chickens roam around your property instead of having them cooped up their whole lives in some little yard. People who DO do that just make me sick, all i can say is im greatfull you give her Freedome, Thanks!

lol, i used to have a mini chicken that lived indoors. YES, you have to clean up a lot. But the shits were small ;) She lay in the dogs blankett and did her makeup on the stairs; Funny to see chickens walking around in a house.

I'm thinking of getting a chicken as a pet. I read that even hens make a lot of noise and I live in a flat with quite poor sound insulation. Do you think a hen would be too noisy and annoy the neighbours??

@paulfreefall Most of the time the hens are not too noisy, but that can suddenly change when they see something or hear something. My chicken is not inside all the time. This little film was actualy an exception.

They make diapers for them, just like they do for Parrots and other household birds. Flight suits or chicken diapers...sm, med, lg and ex-lg. lol

I make my own. go to google and type in bird diapers. They are called flight suits. I didn't care for them because she uses spandex. I use cotton. They work great. I line my males with panty liners and the female with a folded paper towel.
