@marshknute....consider that for the extra 30k you dont only get the technology that makes a car with far worse power to weight ratio go just as fast around the track as a car with a far better ratio, you get a PORSCHE. you get the name brand, the status, the history, the recognition the build quality, technology and refinement etc. with the mustang, you get an overpriced FORD.you are better off getting a regular cheap GT , slap on some sticky tires and light mods and save yourself the money

I think we can all agree that the M3's interior isn't $40,000 better than the Mustang's, and its performance is no better. You have to keep price in mind when comparing cars.

@SPMNDK89 Let me preface this by saying that the GT3 RS is my favorite car in the whole world but give the nissan gtr credit where its due. Porsche's 911 turbos s has all wheel drive, 530 hp, and can be had with a 7 speed duel clutch so essentially the same setup as a gtr yet at the ring it cant touch the gtr. It is a seriously impressive machine...but none of that matters to me because the numbers dont matter yet ironically its the numbers i fell in love with. Three of them infact...911.
@ChrisToddRed I've never hated the GT-R. I respect it for what it is. Would I buy one? Probably not. And in all honesty even though it is a legit bargain for what it can do, its current asking price of $98K is a bit lofty for most people. Those who can afford a GT-R probably can choose other more expensive autos as well. I have never seen times for a 997 turbo S model around the ring. But a GT2 RS can best a GT-R. Yes the GT2 is RWD, has 640bhp, and has a manual tranny but it is a killer.

The setup closest to the GT-R is the turbo, with a turbocharged flat six and all wheel drive. In my opinion if you take away the GT-R's awd and swapped out the tranny that is regulated more by the ecu than the driver, and removed the turbo, it wouldn't be as good as the GT3 RS.

@joyfulvulture I do look at specs, I have a motor trend subscription. The Porsche has a power to weight ratio of 1:6.7 the nissan gtr is 1:7.2, The nissan uses summer tires while the porsche runs with Michelin pilot sport cups. The nissan has 4 seats while the porsche has 2 and a roll cage. My favorite sports cars are the viper acr, porsche gt2/3 rs and the corvette zr1. I do indeed keep myself informed on the specs.

everydriver is different, with this one the GT-R would be lucky with a 1:42s lap time. I saw an independent event at LS where the same driver tested each vehicle (3laps) the GT-R ran a best of 1:40.45 the Boss ran 1:40.21 mid pack cars while the ZR1 ran a 1:35.80 being fastest and the BMW M3 (E92) had the slowest of 1:42.96. Some other inbetween dont remember. Not to bash your prize but the GT-R isn't that great in all honesty even the 2012 won't be that impressive.
Oh the boss that was ran at the event was just that not the LS package this is why Im saying he's not the best driver because the LS edition is about 2s quicker than the regular Boss and this driver actually made it 1s slower than the Boss.

@SPMNDK89 Let me preface this by saying that the GT3 RS is my favorite car in the whole world but give the nissan gtr credit where its due. Porsche's 911 turbos s has all wheel drive, 530 hp, and can be had with a 7 speed duel clutch so essentially the same setup as a gtr yet at the ring it cant touch the gtr. It is a seriously impressive machine...but none of that matters to me because the numbers dont matter yet ironically its the numbers i fell in love with. Three of them infact...911.

And in all honesty even though it is a legit bargain for what it can do, its current asking price of $98K is a bit lofty for most people. Those who can afford a GT-R probably can choose other more expensive autos as well. I have never seen times for a 997 turbo S model around the ring. But a GT2 RS can best a GT-R. Yes the GT2 is RWD, has 640bhp, and has a manual tranny but it is a killer.

@GoonOnFire Dude I honestly don't get why you guys get all butt-hurt every time someone says something somewhat unfavorable of the GT-R. The 911 has a million different variations. The setup closest to the GT-R is the turbo, with a turbocharged flat six and all wheel drive. In my opinion if you take away the GT-R's awd and swapped out the tranny that is regulated more by the ecu than the driver, and removed the turbo, it wouldn't be as good as the GT3 RS.

The Porsche has a power to weight ratio of 1:6.7 the nissan gtr is 1:7.2, The nissan uses summer tires while the porsche runs with Michelin pilot sport cups. The nissan has 4 seats while the porsche has 2 and a roll cage. My favorite sports cars are the viper acr, porsche gt2/3 rs and the corvette zr1. I do indeed keep myself informed on the specs.

everydriver is different, with this one the GT-R would be lucky with a 1:42s lap time. I saw an independent event at LS where the same driver tested each vehicle (3laps) the GT-R ran a best of 1:40.45 the Boss ran 1:40.21 mid pack cars while the ZR1 ran a 1:35.80 being fastest and the BMW M3 (E92) had the slowest of 1:42.96. Some other inbetween dont remember. Not to bash your prize but the GT-R isn't that great in all honesty even the 2012 won't be that impressive.
