Didn't Ser Waymar Royce only appear in the very first chapter and then never again? He gets mention while Littlefinger, Lyssa, and several other semi-main characters go unheralded? Also, Tyrion's actor is not nearly ugly enough and Arya's much too pretty. Who are they going to get to play Brianne of Tarth? Sharron Stone?
HBO always has top notch directing when they do a series like this. While a lot of these characters are not what I had in mind, I bet the way the actors play the role will still be great. Even if it's not like what I had in my head I'm still willing to bet this series will be incredible!

I love the music you used! I'm so excited to watch it now I'm vibrating like a guitar string! And the cast seems great. And it's kind of good they increased some of the ages of certain characters, especially because the sexual scenes with them would be very disturbing to see on screen.

But that's my point. he's only good for playing pseudo bad guys, he's gonna fall completely flat trying to play an honourable man. I think that he would've made a great Sandor Clegane. He's even got the wolfish grin for it. But they put him in the lead role because he's the biggest star they've got, and I just think it's a big mistake.

What the hell? Tamzin Merchant is ten years older than Daenerys. I guess some of her scenes would have to be cut if they went with someone more in line with the characters age though. Still, 23 is a big difference when compared to 13....I bet a lot more actors are older than the characters they play as well.

im only halfway thru book 2 and im completely hooked. cannot wait for the show. although honestly i dont see sean bean as eddard. i think hes great but hes much better as a villain. too bad they couldnt get liam neeson to play eddard. oh well cant really complain i guess. overall its a good cast

@TheLordbyrum he's just not suited to the role. Ned Stark was an honourable man who had a single lapse in conscience. Sean Bean looks like he visits prostitutes on a daily basis. He's only in it because he played Lord of the Rings (Badly, I might add.)

@TheLordbyrum actually he did ok in lotr because he betrayed them by trying to o take the ring. But that's my point. he's only good for playing pseudo bad guys, he's gonna fall completely flat trying to play an honourable man. I think that he would've made a great Sandor Clegane. He's even got the wolfish grin for it. But they put him in the lead role because he's the biggest star they've got, and I just think it's a big mistake.

@fowad27 i understand where you come from but i personally picture sean bean as ned stark, he does play a great bad guy but no one really gives him a chance as a man of honor so and i think he can play it well, i think once the show starts you will change your mind, we will just have to wait and find out, i cant wait for this series to start!

@bigwilliestylee85 I was hoping for someone more dour, gaunt, and, above all, black haired. Sean bean's a little too... robust for my liking. He looks like he likes to have a good time. Still, we can only hope for the best. I don't think his acting will make or break the show. If he does well, then we'll both be happy. If he doesn't, oh well, he get's axed by the end of season one either way.

Sansa is being played by Sophie who is 14 (she goes to my school) and she has had her hair dyed BRIGHT ORANGE for the shooting :)

@Hedu007 it would be enormous waste to make a movie, even if it would be two, three or even four hours long, while in a show the runtime could easily be 12-16 hrs. there simply is so much stuff.

@raggapunk22 From what I remember, weren't his features described as being angular? And the actor they got to play him is much too tall; the guy is 6'5". They should have picked him to play his brother, Gregor; I can totally see him in that role. Sandor Clegane was my favorite character though, so I guess I'm inclined to be picky on that one. But they picked one of my favorite actresses to play Cersei, so for now, I'm mollified

I would argue he's one of the more moral and good people in this story, despite his many "issues".

George R. R. Martin is one of the laziest damn authors I have ever seen. Listen, Bud, when you start a series, you FINISH it. Just go look on his blog... it's about the size of a novel. He talks about all of his cool trips to Universal Studios and gaming conventions and shit. Blah. He'll never finish the series.

What the hell? Tamzin Merchant is ten years older than Daenerys. I guess some of her scenes would have to be cut if they went with someone more in line with the characters age though. Still, 23 is a big difference when compared to 13....I bet a lot more actors are older than the characters they play as well.
