I feel the lyrics were so easy to get immersed in, they were very powerful and well thought out. I feel very strong about The US, but my feelings are that we as Americans should support our country. It is our civic responsibility to keep our government in check, because if we allow our government to go out of control, we end up with things like WWII (Nazi Germany). I don't imply lets not follow laws, but that we should let the government be a means to peace and social prosperity, not war.

Look at sc21es1's comment below. The only people who want war are the people behind politicians. This was as true of WWII as it is now. Ask Goebbels. If you want to honor our troops, DON'T SEND THEM TO THEIR DEATHS. Don't aggravate the situation by saying "good job, I'm so proud of you" when they come home. This video is OK. No disrespect to the sentiment of the videomaker but this is a song about a World War II vet, mixing Kent State images and Viatnam protests seems distracting. Let the songs lyrics make the statement about war and sacrifice, it does so bautifully in the second to last verse. I much prefer the video for this song by garion333. As a historian and a museum professional this song touches me in ways only my work does, I'm glad others get a chance to feel how I feel and do what I do

Regardless of one's view of "war" I believe all the men and women, past and present, who serve our Country deserve a place in our Heart, especially those of "The Greatest Generation."
