  • I'm not atheist or agnostic by any means, but I never was into gospel before. It just didn't appeal to me. I started listening to Elvis's gospel recordings and it has since changed everything. :)

  • Elvis and the lovely Thurl Ravenscroft, the Grim Grinning Ghost, himself!

  • Oh if I could bring backany people Elvis would be in my top 5 (Possibly even 3)

  • Long life to the King

  • @jorelam As Elvis sad "don't call me the king there is only one king and that's king Jesus

  • Great version!

  • Lovin' these ELVIS songs!

  • Man, NOBODY sings gosple like Elvis. Nobody.

  • @wiccanlove1 Elvis is the voice of GOD

  • chanson entrainante et très rythmée j' aime beaucoup elvis aimait beaucoup le gospel et moi j'aime beaucoup elvis

  • For My Cousin Paul on His Birthday

  • elvis died way to early . live on king-live on.....

  • If you should notice on the far right during the movie (during the song of course), one of the singers is the legendary Thurl Ravenscroft who had also recorded songs for Disney films like Alice in Wonderland, Lady And The Tramp, and others.

  • @JoeB0y16 OMG! You're right about Thurl Ravenscroft (whom I recognize from the Dapper Dan singing bust in The Haunted Mansion). He's also the bass voice in The Haunted Mansion, the singer of You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, the voice of Tony the Tiger ("They're grrreat!") and did a bunch of the old Disneyland announcements.

Ah, it's so cool to have both Thurl and Vincent in this Elvis movie!

And Nicole Jaffe, also in the film, was Velma from Scooby Doo. And of course, little Cindy Brady. LOL.

  • by far the best version of this song ever.

  • You know as good of a singer as he was and the fact that he loved singing Gosple music more than any other type of music because he couldn't harmenize he couldn't join a quartet. You know that's a real quartet doing the back up.

  • Wow I love this song so much...

We're doing this song in choir, too.

    It's a bit different though.

  • ..for the Longest Time I've believed that The Five Blind Boys of Alabama Created a Song coverCOVER after the Fact as ELVIS!...saying "I Got Home on The Other Side!"

  • Of course " ratings disabled "... because there are only five stars... not all the stars from this Universe.....

  • I love you Elvis <3 the best !

  • G*R*E*A*T!

  • Absolutely perfect job as always Jackie. No one will ever be able to sing gospel songs as well or better than Elvis did. Elvis had a voice like no other. Also, the best gospel music will definitely always be Elvis' gospel music. Elvis forever.

  • Elvis sang Gospel songs at his best.

    5 stars

  • Elvis recorded Swing Down, Sweet Chariot originally on October 31, 1960 at RCAs Nashville Studios. He recorded this version in October 1968 for the film The Trouble With Girls. Take #10 was used in the movie. This version is available on the Live a Little, Love a Litte-The Trouble With Girls-Change of Habit soundtrack compilation.
