  • these wheeels can be buyed or did you make it?

  • better technology is coming soon... check it at SideDriverDotCom

  • ARE THEY VEX LEAGAL AND WHERE CAN I GET THEM!???????????????

THIS IS AWESOME I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE TO HAVE A MECANUM DRIVE BASE FOR VEX

  • Are they official vex parts? and if so, where do you find them?

  • hey good job but make it move the body over it next time

  • why no 2 steering wheels

  • Because this is called meccanum wheels idiot! You're in the wrong chat!

  • @bestamerica it doesnt need them

  • hello i have a vex robot and also the MECANUM WHEELS and i can't figure how to wire them up in the right way so i can slide from side to side

    Thanks

  • Actually these designs are already applied into industries. A company called Airtrax is manufacturing it.

  • Airtrax has gone out of business.

  • nice

  • how much would you charge for a new set of these wheels? I don't have time to make them myself, but have wanted to play with mecanum wheels before.

  • hey cool robot. Does Vex make a kit for this, or did you make all the parts yourself? thanks.

  • vex offers a sterte kit, but the omni wheels are sold separetly

  • technically speaking they are a type of omni directional wheel that is specifically call a mecanum wheel.

  • @thefro526 and this specific platform is called a mecanum drive

  • wow dude were u get those wheels did u make em..

  • omni

  • they're not omni! Read the title u people, they're called mecanum wheels!

  • what are those wheels?

  • they are omni directional wheels, if you search youtube you can find some other videos with forklifts and stuff

  • no they're not, there called mecanum wheels, they're homemade by a 3-d printer

  • but they are omni directional no?

  • they are, but they are not omnidirectinal wheels. omnidirectional wheels are similar to mecanums, but with the rollers perpendicular to the wheel movement, not a 45 degree angle.

  • Those are called Holonomic Wheels. There are three types of Omniwheels. The first are call swivel, which you find on your shopping cart. The second is the Holonomic, which have rollers perpandicular to the wheel, and are mounted on 45 degree angles from the robot. The Third is the mecanum wheels we see above. Hope this halts any more stupid and uninformed arguments

  • Swivel wheels aren't considered omni wheels, since they're just normal wheels mounted to a caster.

  • If they allow holonomic movement, then they're holonomic. No two ways about it.
