Wcw had one of the best match commentary teams iv ever heard in my opinion, the only thing tht would rival unique commentary from them wuda been JR, but thts about it, they rely make the match interesting
Team Poser- You're right and wrong WCW did make stars but Two of the guys on your list left WCW in order to become stars. The Big Show became a title threat in the WWF with good Story Lines and Y2J was horribly used by WCW but The WWF made him a star by giving him the ball to run with it, Which he did and one day he may very well be a Hall of Famer. also Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit all were made better because the WWF knew how to showcase them properly.
I love how everyone talks about how WCW never created new stars. Goldberg, Sting, Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, The Giant, DDP, Booker T, Ron Simmons, Big Van Vader, Ricky Steamboat, Scott Steiner, and all of the cruiserweights. Ring any bells? And let's not even go in deep detail about all the guys that were made back in the 80's with WCW/NWA. Oh how I love revisionist history done by Mcmahon.
Uhm actually they kind of did make Steamboat. Ricky Steamboat received his biggest push in the business by Jim Crockett Promotions, which later was incorporated and was the foundation for WCW. So, yes Steamboat was somewhat made by WCW. It was in the Mid South territory that he made a name for himself wrestling guys like Flair.
And actually Rick Steiner made his start in the NWA/World Championship Wrestling. He didn't join the WWF until the 90's.
Ricky Steamboat received his biggest push with Jim Crockett Promotions, which was later associated with WCW. Both The Steiner Brothers also made a name for themselves in WCW, remember "The Varsity Club"? They didn't arrive at the WWF until the 90's (92 or 93 I believe).
But I will give you the Vader argument. I was mainly speaking about the North American wrestling companies.
this was better then anything WWF has put together. It was all the shit they put together 10 HOURS OF ORIGINAL content , when WWE only has 4 hours , overexposing the product.
yea great build up of imaginary mirror tricks that are lame and building on a match that wwf made 8 years before this...10 hrs of crap is what i call it thats why wcw went under the table
The only one that needs to stay is Bobby Heenan.. and he is very old now.. and.. has suffered from strokes.. but tony schivone is horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible.. and Minke Tenay was alright when it came to luchadors in WCW.. otherwise as he proves today.. he is just flat and boring.. but i wont hate on him
That whole sppec UW gave on nitro really pissed off Hulk and Bischoff it wasnt planned and wasnt what they wanted him to say. They didnt like that he got such a big reaction from the fans and viewers.typical wcw.
I believe this pay-per-view was the point where WCW started it's slow demise. I still enjoyed it, but this was the show where you could tell it wasn't going to go back up. Hogan/Warrior; Sting/Hart; Nash/Hall; DDP/Page. You had at least four main event caliber matches and none of them lived up to the build-up. With all that talent, how do you NOT put on a great show?
Someone said this after watching the UW/Sid Justice promo, lol. That's the great thing about youtube you never know what you find. (hint: there are other cool promos like the one he did about Goldust)
hahahaha Ultimate Warrior using big words from 0:28 to 0:38.Ultimate Warrior always has cool facepaint.

henceforth, its pretty ironic that you are blabbering on about 'revisionist history', yet you seem to like to do a lot of it yourself.

What's with the countdown timer?
Ken9284 2 years ago
The Countdown timer is use when you order a Wrestling ppv and it will countdown the time before the ppv starts
Hopes that helps, Take care
Terryfan 2 years ago
This is like the pre-game show to the PPV and it's counting down to when the PPV starts, kind of like how they do Super Bowl pre-game shows.

87 weeks in a row WCW whuped WWF's ass no its not the reason why it went under the table its because the Tech market went to the shitter.
creedgaming 2 years ago
But ater April 1998, WWF kicked WCW's ass by showcasing younger talent, while WCW showcased old stars and not making new ones.
