HEY MAN CAN U PLS TELL ME WHETHER ITS WORTH BUYING THE LED CINEMA DISPLAY FOR MY WINDOWS PC>>>>>PLS REPLY......also jst tell all of us how do u afford such stufff.......u r the biggest mac man i have ever seen.....PEACE!!!
@GabeZTV the imac has a bigger chin on it that holds the computer stuff inside it also this contains about half the parts of the imac so it will be around the same size for that reason also its bigger so it looks the same.
i have a hp 1080 p 22 inch prefer it over any other moniter samsung or dell have both hp blows both of them away dont know about the apple moniter though
Honestly, unless Apple is willing to give away a free computer with this monitor (wait, didn't they already do that with the 27" iMac?) there is no good reason to pay this kind of money for a monitor. Period.
Doesn't that suck that they just came out with the new gorgeous iMacs. They look amazing and they do have a better resolution than 1080p! Letting some movies run in full quality on these things. Sadly no Bluray still. love your show man keep up the work.
I have a Samsung 2494SW 24" Widescreen 1080p Full HD Display, Color wise I prefer the Samsung as currently there is not HD format past 1080p. Full HD right now is 1080p and soon it'll be 1200p which I can see within the next 10 years, just cause monitors have 1920X1200 doesn't mean that it's past 1080p format. Design wise I like the Apple LED Display but Samsung is known for there designs and mine is closer to there HDTVs. I'm using the VGA cable right now but the DVI is going to be awesome.
def bring back some more compare vids. what would really be cool is to see your network and stuff also maybe get a mc mini even though it would not be needed seeing what you have but just a suggestion MORE VIDEOS MAN

wow typical apple screen. Its glossy, and has heaps of glare. I still think the best 24" out there is probably Dell's UltraSharp 2407WFP. (from all the connectivity to the colours)
Yeah I have the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP. The only cool thing that Apple's 24 inch LED Cinema Display has over the 2407WFP is the built in isight camera and that it is a little slimmer than the 2407. The 2407 can rotate in every which direction which the LED Cin. Display can't. If you're doing graphic arts or photo editing than a matte (antiglare screen) is the way to go. I just wish Apple would update their 30 inch cinema display line and make those slimmer with isights along with antiglare.
Yeah, i can say or you can as well that the viewing angles on the Dell 2407WFP is just superb. I've tried looking at all possible angles and you can still see the screen. I'm not sure if the Apple 24" can do that but it would be pretty hard to beat it or get on par. Although the apple 24" has all these all round features such as isight and speakers, Dell has heaps connectivity which is best for what i think, a good monitor needs. Sure, speakers are included but are you really going to use them?
Yeah OLED also costs like $2500 for only an 11 inch monitor. Sony is like one of the few people that sell this. Maybe wait a couple years down the road and we'll start seeing more larger OLED screens at a more affordable price.
Sup. My monitor is BEAutiful but my old monitor was the old ones.. that have the massive block thing on the back.. So without further adew.. The BenQ E2200HD LCD Monitor. Thanks. : )
Hey if you could, in another video can you show the cinema display hooked up to the imac? cause ive actually never seen any one have a dual monitor setup with an imac and an led cinema display.
Sometimes though a huge screen can get really annoying. You have to sit way back from it, hope to god you have long cables, and maybe wifi, oh and a room to put it in. Most 45 inch tv's wont sit on a desk without breaking it.
On the other hand, built in HDTV is nice. Maybe go with a 30 or 32 inch. Something easier to manage.
when i want to watch my pc in 1920x1080 on my samsung led lit tv, everything is really small. i am using a 6200gt or the onboard graphics, would a better graphics card make the 1080p look better (mainly as in not so tiny0 or is it just like that. this wouldnt happen on a 1080p monitor right, it would look big enough?
i use my 40" Toshiba 1080p LCD HDTV with my macbook pro. after calibrating it, it looks amazing, and only cost me $599.99 before adding in tax (5% sales tax since i live in Virginia).

best thing to due is to get an ips monitor with hdmi and use it with your laptop. since it has hdmi, it is universal, so you use it with most HD devices. but for macs..no hdmi XD
try getting the highest contrast ratio and a High resolution.. Plain and simple
a complete waste of money apple rip people off, its absolutely crap get the HP LP245w, it so much more practicle and you can hook it up to almost anything unlike the crappy apple cine thingy
I'm using a dell 17inc. very good monitor and a LG 19inch 1080i Monitor/TV. Both weren't very expensive and are very good quality especially the LG as i have my ps3 connected to it.
It's mainly really good for the mac mini or mac pro I think, because when you buy them, you don't get the isight, mic, and built in speakers. I do think that spending 900 dollars on a monitor is extreme, especially when I could get a monitor that does the same thing for 200-300.
I have this monitor as a secondary display to my 24" iMac and it is no match. Good for static Apps and music browsing and such, but when it comes to photo editing and such, the iMac blows it out of the water, let alone the LED Cinema Display.
I've had the 24" LED Apple display since Feb. I LOVE this screen! It died on me after three months, but Apple replaced it for me. I would get the Apple Care for this, since it died on me. The few things I don't like about this display: 1) it doesn't have a on/off button. 2) All settings on it have to be done from the computer 3) It can only be used with the newest of Apple desktops and laptops. I use it with my late 2008 unibody 15" Macbook Pro. GREAT display though. Only 3 bad things.
I use the Samsung T240HD TV for my monitor for my custom PC and I love it, it's also used as my TV and used with my PS3 and 360. I personally love it, it has 2 HDMI ports and really brings out all the colors, plus it's one of the only 24in TV/Displays I found that can go full 1080P
I would and always spend my money on Apple product even though they are a little bit over priced, but I would never buy a Cinema display from apple because of the lack of inputs, but other wise everything is so well built.
If anyone wants an invite to the BETA Lockerz site, send me a private message and include your email address. I'll send your invite to the email ASAP.
also have the 24" apple. It's my third... there was a hue shift problem with the first one, sent it back. Replacement monitor had the same problem when hot. Sent it back, had screen replaced. Turns out it was a firmware problem of some sort, fixed with OS 10.5.6 I believe.
No complaints, works beautifully, wonderful colors. Expensive but worth it as a webdesigner.
i use the samsung SyncMaster XL2370 23 inch for about 330 bucks, the display is so fuckin gorgeouse dude i use it with my mac mini and it just looks so nice and its super thin, and i think the only advantage this mac display has over my samsung is that the mac has a built in video camera and mine doesnt but who care dude, its thin, cheap, and gorgeous
not saying this is better than the cinema display, it is quite a few years old, but im using the samsung 24" syncmaster 2232bw as an external display and it has served me well in the time i have had it. no microphone, camera, or speakers however.
I use a Dell Widescreen about 300 Dollars 22" I think. Not sure excactly! it looks great. Not as good as the cinema. But I dont beleive I should be paying 800 dollars for a monitor!
Apple LED Display uses DVI which is the same thing as HDMI. The only difference is that DVI doesn't have sound and HDMI does. That's because HDMI is mostly used in TV's and this is not a TV.
I use a Samsung SyncMaster T260HD It's full 1080p 25.5". But I would love to have one of the LED Apple displays. As a Mac user for about 2 years. It is well worth it to get one.
he gets paid when people watch his youtube videos, thats how he gets the money to buy more cool stuff, and therefore get more viewers, its an interesting cycle actually.
HP LP2475w is full of deliciousness. It's only $569. The only thing that it's lacking compared to the Apple 24" LED Cinema Display is that it doesn't have LED backlighting.
I have an HP 2009m 22'' monitor, and its great except for the built in speakers. they are really quiet, and now, the left on vibrates and makes a sounds when playing something even a little loud. other than that, its really grear
im really interested for this display for my 15 inch macbook pro 1st generation unibody. i know its expensive, but the combination of the webcam, microphone, and 2.1 sound system is killer
I still use my Compaq MV970 19" flat screen monitor circa 1999 and it is absolutely brilliant, wouldn't trade it for anything. Ive had it for 10 years now and its still in like-new condition, even though its 10 years old I have not seen any monitor that even comes close to it. I paid $500 for it back in 99' which was a ton back then for a monitor.
I dont have a seperate moniter, but based on the LED screen on my MBP (compared to other LCD monitors including iMac), Apple has used this technology well. The blacks are deep, colors are vibrant, and energy consumption is less than LCDs for the most part. Its super expensive but im sure that display is sweet.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster T220HD 22in LCD TV/Monitor and its awesome, before I bought it for my macbook I tried both Apple and Samsung and It was just right.
Nice Contrast, Nice resolution, awesome defnition and brightnes and a BIG PLUS... TV Included. 2HDMI 1 DVI, 1vga
Pirce : U$300
-------------
and the 23" Samsung cost U$300 With no TV.. but DVI, HDMI and VGA
I got a different Moniter (24") by acer at wal-mart for $250.
It's of course it's not as good and the colors aren't as "vibrant" as on the Apple display, but it's still not worth $900.But usually everything apple has is always a little overpriced.
If anyone wants an invite to the BETA Lockerz site, send me a private message and include your email address. I'll send your invite to the email ASAP.
This monitor has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 14ms response time. compared to current non apple monitor this monitor ranks with 4 to 5 year old monitors.
that's advertising speak. Don't listen to them. See the monitors in real life and know if they are TN/VA or IPS based. Stats don't mean a thing if they don't quote the panel type.
i have a 22'' lcd asus monitor the newst model 1920x1080 res it cost me 170bucks worth every penny and i have a vid on my channel of it if u want to cheek it out as well
23" LG Flatron W2343t running at 1920x1080 off my late 2008 2.4 Ghz aluminum macbook. $300 greaaaaaaaat quailty, surely not as good as the apple cinema displays but i'm only 13, i can't afford it :'(
I have a 20" HP 2009m Display connected to my Macbook and Xbox 360. Also can you maybe do a video of comparing the isight cameras in Picture and audio quality between your iMac and Cinima Display? Thanks great videos!
haha this is really funny because right about this time, i was really considering getting one, and i think i will now for sure after watching this vid.

i use the samsung SyncMaster XL2370 23 inch for about 330 bucks, the display is so fuckin gorgeouse dude i use it with my mac mini and it just looks so nice and its super thin, and i think the only advantage this mac display has over my samsung is that the mac has a built in video camera and mine doesnt but who care dude, its thin, cheap, and gorgeous
rockzilla99 2 years ago
LED monitors are nice, much better than LCDs, but just wait til OLEDs/AMOLEDs get here.
I've seen some of the 12 inch ones that sony has and they're incredible, They're much better than LEDS and blow LCDs, Plasmas, CRTs out of the water.
sexyloser 2 years ago
lol brace yourself for a insanely priced display if they come out anytime soon.
JStylezTS 2 years ago
For the price of one those you could have bought a 37" 1080p HDTV...
CrAzYKiLLa29 2 years ago
Yeah but they aint LED.......Still, thats bigger screen, and its a TV....So you got the idea. But, then again, LEDs have better quality.
StarMario1000 2 years ago
not saying this is better than the cinema display, it is quite a few years old, but im using the samsung 24" syncmaster 2232bw as an external display and it has served me well in the time i have had it. no microphone, camera, or speakers however.

I use a Dell Widescreen about 300 Dollars 22" I think. Not sure excactly! it looks great. Not as good as the cinema. But I dont beleive I should be paying 800 dollars for a monitor!
ReeshTV 2 years ago
Also, no HDMI. Nice job with the standards apple. That automatically makes me never want a cinema display. HDMI is so much betttttttter!!
ReeshTV 2 years ago
Apple LED Display uses DVI which is the same thing as HDMI. The only difference is that DVI doesn't have sound and HDMI does. That's because HDMI is mostly used in TV's and this is not a TV.
nocommayoucantread 2 years ago
Doesnt DVI have more pixels?

I use a 23" HANNSPREE which is Best Buy's brand and I think it is a great monitor for $200. (I paid $180 on sale)
Specs...
5 ms response time; 15,000:1 contrast ratio; 300 cd/m² brightness; 1920 x 1080 maximum resolution; 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles; HDMI and 15-pin D-sub inputs
If you want a lot of area for a decent price, definitely worth a look up at Best Buy.
NIce video as always,

I use a Samsung SyncMaster T260HD It's full 1080p 25.5". But I would love to have one of the LED Apple displays. As a Mac user for about 2 years. It is well worth it to get one.

I want to know how it compares to a TV.
I have mine hooked up to my TV in my living room.
And can not really tell difference between the TV and the cinema display. Looks same and stunning to me.

I have this monitor and I absolutely love it. I also have an iMac and the iMac's screen looks like crap when going from this one to the iMac.
gmanist1000 2 years ago 2
hey man just a quick question, do you get paid for doing these reviews? There's a lot of pretty nice expensive apple technology in that room!
crawfordsjamie 2 years ago
he gets paid when people watch his youtube videos, thats how he gets the money to buy more cool stuff, and therefore get more viewers, its an interesting cycle actually.

HP LP2475w is full of deliciousness. It's only $569. The only thing that it's lacking compared to the Apple 24" LED Cinema Display is that it doesn't have LED backlighting.
doctorqwerty 2 years ago
The thing is though that LED is whats so great about, LED has way richer colours and deeper blacks than any LCD its like an uber nice CRT but thin

I have an HP 2009m 22'' monitor, and its great except for the built in speakers. they are really quiet, and now, the left on vibrates and makes a sounds when playing something even a little loud. other than that, its really grear

Samsung T200 $229. Great Quality.
iBellix 2 years ago
I dont have a seperate moniter, but based on the LED screen on my MBP (compared to other LCD monitors including iMac), Apple has used this technology well. The blacks are deep, colors are vibrant, and energy consumption is less than LCDs for the most part. Its super expensive but im sure that display is sweet.

I think the Display is quite overpriced.
I got a different Moniter (24") by acer at wal-mart for $250.
It's of course it's not as good and the colors aren't as "vibrant" as on the Apple display, but it's still not worth $900.But usually everything apple has is always a little overpriced.
Jarrettmonty99 2 years ago
good display: Apple Cinema Display LCD and LED ACD
LCD by far beats picture quality of LED display.

It would not be worth the money at ALL to me, but if someone has to edit lots of video and pictures or whatever it probably would be worth it.

This monitor has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 14ms response time. compared to current non apple monitor this monitor ranks with 4 to 5 year old monitors.
mariodnyc 2 years ago
that's advertising speak. Don't listen to them. See the monitors in real life and know if they are TN/VA or IPS based. Stats don't mean a thing if they don't quote the panel type.
