I feel that Philip is using unnecessary strength for the shoulder especially... He's hands are relaxed but not the shoulders.. That's why he gets tired easily..
@SuperDarylyeo actually, looking tired is more likely due to the fact that what you see here is only about a minute of a full day of training (and the fact that training at our school is done with fully resisting partners)...
@straightblast5 I don't really see the partners are fully resisting? If one's wing chun is really at a high level, i feel that even if its a full day of training, it should not be a problem if proper moving of the structure is applied rather than the extension of the arms (causing to use more shoulder strength)
@SuperDarylyeo then you've obviously never expirenced training hard for a full day or you have olympic level endurance. both parnters in this exercise were fully working to strike and break down the structure of the other, how you can't discern that being resisting is beyond me. perhaps you can enlighten us with a video of yourself performing effortless chi-sau.
@SuperDarylyeo please post a video of your ving tsun so that we can see how it's done. you ever hear of the american adage, "put up, or shut up"? my point being, very easy to critique anothers actions when you're not there yourself....better to show by example.
separately, philip's shoulders do not look tense to me, looks to me to be that's just where his natural body structure places his shoulders. perhaps you have a different body composition that he.
I dont why somepeople are putting this video down but this is impressive stuff coming from Phillp performing Chi Sao with his partner, although im still learning Wing Chun myself from this day learning the basics, stances, and even footwork.
@Friedrichws ....than make better video and show us how to punch KarateKiD , youre just another idiot with fat eyeglasses (thats the reason why you even dont see the techniques) who has no life and friends... xD xD *ROfl
hands are ok, footwork is very bad. You're walking instead of keeping one foot forward, which makes your balance and structure really bad. You should know that your balance and structure is one of the most import things of ving tsun.
@brandinho8 I know that they are in their stance for chi sau. Feet on one line and pointing inwards. However, when the guy starts to move forward he is literally walking. In ving tsun the power of your arms and punches are supported by your stance and, eventually, by the ground where you're standing on. When you stand with your two feet on the ground your arms are supported by your stance, your balance will be very good. That's why you should nog change feet while stepping in, but 2 feet down
