The knew that if they didn`t fix it it could lead to a spill. They ignored those warnings cause it would cost to much to fix it. They decided to gamble, and they lost!

I live in Barton's district. Very few here agree with what he said. Hopefully in Nov. he will join other career politicians, dems and reps, and be sent home. BP needs to held accountable, but so does Obama. He could have had skimmers from other countries helping get the oil up as soon as 3 days after the explosion, but he did nothing! This mess wouldn't be as bad. He waits 50+ days later to get all "mad" and do something? He got a look at his pole numbers and decided to do something.

No one should be apologizing to Tony Hayward. The coast people will be filling claims to receive the funds to keep their livelyhood afloat. International company or not, it's call being responsible for poor safety decisions which in fact when Tony was being interviewed all he can say was "I don't recall". If you are satisfy when someone or company done something wrong to you and all you get is "I don't recall" then good for you, not for the people or environment. Go dip your baby in the gulf!

So what it's not a US company? It still affected the U.S. in a bad way. Why should BP not pay for what they were responsible for?
