  • You know, I'm not a typical country fan..I'm actually a metal head, but I was raised by my grandparents in the middle of 400 acres in the great state of Texas, best people I've ever met in my life and nothing reminds me more of where of I came from than a Hank Sr. Gives me chills, thanks for sharing this.

  • great music. the way Hank sing this song make you wanna cry

  • Pure poetry. This is still the greatest country song ever written.

  • Hank reminds me of Grandpa:)

  • good music thanks for posting

  • If only our scumbag politicians had the same perception of life as Hank...

  • I so love this song. gets me deep in my soul.

  • My step-dad brought me up on this good ole music....Eddie Arnold, Hank Williams, Marty Atkins, Patsy Cline....I am so thankful he did...I have such an appreciation for music...He gave me a gift, long before I realized it!!!!!

  • I aint the kind of fella to use the word beautiful unless im talking bout a women, but this song is beautiful.

  • @JiminyStudio It's on the Zombieland soundtrack, perhaps you've heard it there? :)

  • So incredible.

Hank williams live in ours hearts!!!

  • A good old classic. Never hurts to delve back in history to listen to a little music of days past. Brings back fond memories of my late grandpa...I miss him.

  • I needed to do a project on a song for school, and i'm glad I chose this one!

  • How can 5 people click on this gem and decide not to like it??????

  • Cheers. Needed that.

  • The top song of all time.

  • The Beverly Hillbillies! xD

  • People didn't need this song when Zyzz was alive :( R.I.P Brah

  • @ModernManJohnny

Shut the fuck up Zyzz was a faggot motherfucker who took steroids and got what he had coming to him. This song has been around long before he was even thought about.

  • @ModernManJohnny forever mirin' RIP

  • I played this when my grandmother died, she liked that song.

  • from witch movie(s) is this?

  • @Indyla96 The only movie I remember it in was The Beverly Hillbillies lol

  • @ladwig23 and zombieland

  • Just bought this exact record at the antique store....I'm so excited I could cry :')

  • This is just a FANTASTIK video showing the old 78 rpm record along with....yes, like akitadad said 'the crackle of the old record with Hank singing'

I'm from Montgomery, just like Hank, and hearing this song and watching that record spin just made me feel like a child again. What a great capture of a moment in time long ago.....God Bless You Hank Williams!

  • Would you sell this record to me?:)

  • thank you for posting this it reminds me of my grandpa thank you so very much

  • lol they played this in zombie land.

  • @MrGameking1984 whcih part? I cant remember?

  • @1223339 i dont remember either but i think its when the girls steal the guys car the guy that likes twinkes.

  • @1223339 target practice scene w Woody Harrelson in the mansion

  • @allpeeps4me OH Now i remember

  • How I love this old song. Just as it's played here. :)

  • Oh the memories..I listened to this as it sounds here, with my Mom and Dad, and brothers and sisters as a young girl. My heart aches just listening to this for today is the anniversary of my Mom"s death. Now she can listen to him sing in Heaven, I hope. I love all those old songs from that time and I always will think they're better than the new songs.

  • I love this song- and the crackle of the old recording

  • @wendywilliams49 Me too !! It's just the way we heard it years ago.. :)

  • this is one of the best written songs ever.

  • @shelayne4

    I agree!

  • i'm in awe. i don't like country music, but this transcends what you'd refer to as country.

  • beautiful old song.

  • This is the song for me right now :\ oh well shit'll get better

  • This is real country music, I'm tired of all the pop commin out of Nashville having a country label thrown on it. They need to cut the crap in Nashville and bring real country back. Cause Hank couldn't make it in Nashville today, they would tell him he's too country.

  • Anyone who doesn't like this doesn't deserve to live.

  • I'M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY.

  • Awesome

  • I'm a Taylor Swift fan but I still love this song! Look, an anomaly!

    Big deal.

  • Love the vinyl burn, LOVE THIS SONG! Thnx For The Post!!

  • I love this song. A horse, a sunset, open fields, ... good times!! Where music was content!

  • My grandaddy would be proud of me for listening to this one. I love old time country. Not the pop music that passes for country nowadays.

  • @cowboylee1226 when i was in high school I would say this music sucks, now that I'm older its the only music that speaks to the heart, I love old country

  • @cowboylee1226 amen!

  • Was my mom's and my favorite song tho we never spoke about it- but just knowing someone else felt what we felt, made everything feel ok...i was five or so but it is still in my Heart

  • 4 people dislike this?? Must be Taylor Swift fans!!

There's nothing like the great sounds of Hank on a lonely night!!

  • Wow, listening to this at 3 AM, really...touches ya.

  • Gracias por Compartir!!

    :D

    buen aporte.

  • Gracias por Compartir!!

    :D

  • Seems all the great ones died young, too bad

  • Pavarotti, Caruso, Hank Williams, mind you now, not necessarily in that order too.

  • know what you mean, Hank--you sang from your heart

  • Love THE REAL HANK--this is such a classic--this fellow had a fantastic voice

  • So hard to believe his voice was under 30! Hold on to that 78 forever!!

  • one of my favorites.

  • to me, the best song of the 40's =)

  • you hear that lonesome whiporwill he sounds too blue to cry - the midnight train is whining low, i'm so lonesome I could cry = i've never seen a night so low - i'm so lonesome i could cry - i've never seen a night so long, when time goes crawling by - the moon just went, behind a cloud, to hide it's face and cry ;'( do you ever see a robin weep, when leaves begin to die? that means he lost the will to live, i'm so lonesome I could cry.

  • That guy sang with such passion. I know his marriage wasn't always the greatest. He probably used that pain in the songs he sang. RIP Hank. I Hope to see him in Heaven someday.

  • @vanmoody The silence of a fallin' star lights up a purple sky, and AS I wonder where you are, I 'm so lonesome I could cry :')

  • @vanmoody SAME HERE!!!!

  • I don't care what kind of music you like, if you don't like this song you are an asshole

  • It's actually a beautifully-written song in spite of its sadness.

  • There's probably been numerous suicides found over the years with this song on repeat and whiskey nearby.

  • sometimes that's the was it is mudkipsie, what a great bunch of loving you came out of. Think of all the people you know that loved each other to make you. You are truly blessed.Treasure the memories forever!

  • i love all kinds music but am old school at heart be it jazz, rock&roll,r&b,country, soul,or even rap & hank williams is one of my favorites

  • This is me and my Bf's song and my Bf is actually Hank's Great Nephew! =)

  • @cityducky Thats tripped out.

  • There's no one like him. Never was never will be.....

  • johnny cash covered this but the best cover by far is volbeat

  • why don't they play hank williams on MTV in stead of all that new crap!!

  • Haha always reminds me of The Beverly Hillbillies movie, Jed Clampetts favourite song...

  • @Darzy92 Sort of ironic this being Jed's Favorite song don't you think?

  • @Videogeek95 why's that?

  • @Darzy92 Cause he's a widower and-- well i don't know exactly how other than a widower but I know it's ironic.

  • @Videogeek95 beverly hill billies?

  • Yea, this song help me get threw my bitch ex....

  • I used to hear my great grandfather frequently play this song alone in his workshop after my great grandmother died.

I was told he died a couple of years later because he couldn't bare life without her.

  • @mudkipsie Liar.

  • @mudkipsie a couple of years later? he probably just died if it was that long ago >.>

  • @iammidknight they died young with no big health problems

  • @iammidknight stop ruining the drama

  • @mudkipsie oh thats so sad

  • A very Beautiful Steel Break By Jerry Byrd. He isexcellent.

  • @mudkipsie that is so sad. he really really loved her. may they both rest in peace together forever

  • @mudkipsie its amazing how fast people can flip a 180 from being healthy to dieing after they lose the one they love. My aunty last 6 months after losing her husband and she was very healthy at the time.

  • @mudkipsie i think people die soon after their lover because love is so physical they just aren't as strong anymore. in alot of ancient cultures the groom or spouse would kill themselves in ceremony with the others death

  • @mudkipsie Definitely a rare case of love right there..

  • @mudkipsie Thats sad man, sorry to hear that. Its true, unfortunatly people really can die from a broken heart.

  • @Evanmonster1 ya'll are going to make me cry! i love this song!

  • @mudkipsie i know the feeling after it was reported that my grandfather died in combat in Vietnam my grandma would play this all the time In the living room why sowing

  • thanks couldn't find this on limewire. What a great song!

  • his songs are so good they come from the heart and not to many songs now-a-days and that will make this style of music lost

  • Perfect.
