@jltaviation, you should check the other clips. I have 4 pc's networked together, each of them running specific components. I plan on making some kind of recap film when it's all done. However, I come up with new ideas as I go and the project expands.

@coldandfrostymorning i'm more of an FSX fan (i have both) but x-plane runs WAY better! No "fatal error" messages or freezes, bugs, glitches, etc on x-plane. But don't buy it until April/May when X-plane 10 comes out, because it will be better.

@AzuraFan49 I believe that you need to be a bit more specific that that to get people to help you. What is happening? What OS? If you're using Vista or Win 7 you have to install as administrator, etc.

gotta question i downloaded the demo version of xplane 9 and i only have scenery for LOWI for example i go to LAX airport all i see is water

@max40311, demo version for x-plane allows you to fly only around LOWI just like the FSX demo allows you limited functionality.

@max40311 You can fly where ever, but only for 10 minutes at a time, and then you have to open the simulator again. If you want, you can download scenery from x-plane (dot) org, and install the folders you get to custom scenery folder, and they will work just fine :) You can also download planes from the website. I have been using the demo for about a year, and have been satisfied, as all i do is take-off and land, because they are the funnest parts :D

So i just got a new computer with 6 gigs of ram,and a 2.33 ghz quad core, and it will run x-plane at 3 fps on everything maxed, but it will run fsx at 60 fps with everything maxed. Why is this? Btw i have an nvidia 9500gt 1 gig ddr2 graphics card. i thought that fsx took more resources then x-plane. please help!

@supersaintsfan31, neither one of the games should be ran maxed out. I have a hard time believing that you can run FSX in a denser area at 60FPS.

@supersaintsfan31, your CPU might be limiting your performance. You can't really compare the sims by maxing everything out as X-Plane has a significantly higher range of adjustments to play with.

Are you using a nVidia video card? If so you should be using nHancer to run the GPU settings.

the thing about x-plane is that you can record a movie with the graphics all the way up and still make it look good because even if while your recording in game the game is going 2fps the movie will still play at 29fps once you view it in quicktime sooo you can put everything to ultra high and record a sweet movie. it will just take a long time to make in the sim

@ovjks, it's from the game but what you hear is prerecorded loops of ATC since X-Plane doesn't have interactive ATC.

It makes it look real and more alive, I think. You think, that pilots in cockpits are something special I would like to have in PC simulation in 2010? Empty planes look strange. Even 8-bit simulators had pilots in cockpits. But I understand, that it has no effect on flying or on the final game. Nothing against this game. But I think its not a problem for such professional developer to put some easy figure in the cockpit,

I don't think pilot is a very great add in airplanes but some default aircraft in X-Plane include them (C172, Cirrus...)

Looks very nice, don't know why I can't get my xplane to look like this when I turn up all the settings, AMD Quad 2.8GHz, 8GB system RAM, Nvidia 275GTX, it should look like this but it doesn't.

You have to learn how to play with the settings to get things right.

@flyboyandre Thanks, I used to have Xplane on my old vista computer and it looked close to this with a very minimal amount of tweaking the settings, pretty much just turn it up to high and hope that Xplane accepts the settings and doesn't try to dumb them down because it feels performance is too low. Don't know what the difference is now other than perhaps a couple of beta versions of the program having changed something maybe.
