There is a short story by Jeff Noon in the collection 'Pixel Juice' (IIRC) where he describes a kind of art made possible by a technology involving direct manipulation of the artist's mind. He openly wonders how many artists existed prior to the advent of the technology that lived their lives in silence, their only crime was being born at the wrong time.

Just start experimenting. You'll find your voice.

Yeah, After Effects. My first thought was to use Particular to draw the tubes, but that was way too expensive (rendering time) and heavy-handed for what I wanted to do, so I simply animated the stroke effect and added a colored glow.

I found the movement of the neon tubes to be guesturally quite beautify......a bit like an echesketch...which is a good thing. Excellent animation!
