  • can i use gatorade?

  • So your saying i need blah blah blah....why not just get some salt water which most of the earth is made up of...or just add some salt to some water? DUH...i

  • @dredding82 If you add NaCl the electrolysis will also cause the Cl to bubble out contaminating the H2 O2 mixture. I don't know why he says he is making hydrogen when he still has oxygen mixed in.

  • i want to talk with you micheal

  • So I can just use tap water right? lol

  • It's the guy from the colony!!

  • but we need to know hwo to conect it to the cars

  • Those aren't electrolytes... Those are salts. If you dissolve them in water, they split up into electrolytes. But they aren't electrolytes in itself.

  • @prorsoft thanks didn't know the distinction.

  • this guys kinda an asshole... who the hell does he think he is telling me to go to the store!!!

  • @jwiggity Rainwater tank is better.

  • This guy is so full of shit. Talk, talks, talks, get one second of info done.

Don't watch this Bull....! I'm not watching ANY of his clips. BOYCOTT!!!

  • is that the dude from discovery's The Colony?

  • @ralph66hd

    lol

  • @ralph66hd thats exactly what i thought. On the colony hes a fabricator too. Also a dbag

  • good

  • I thought salt would make twice as much hydrogen because the positive sodium ions react with water to produce even MORE hydrogen! ...will it corrode stainless steel though?

  • what is the ratio of mixing between water and the soda powder

  • what about regular salt it promotes the current flow and will not eat your hand,

  • Gatorade has electrolytes.

  • @Sausageonthegrill i was just thinking that. totally want to try putting gaterade in one of the hydrogyne tanks

  • You don't need any of that shit! you need electricity, and water, and stainless steel capacitor with a small gap, preferably using a pulse train on your positive line with a voltage intensifier circuit coil inbetween to double your input power using .5 amp.

  • this is the guy that came on the show colony

  • Please number the clips.lol

  • distilled DRINKING water no you dont drink it ill fuck u up ill strip minerals from your body dont do it

  • how to make hydrogen expertvillage playlist

    search this in google

  • is this number 1 plz number dem!!!

  • rainwater is impure, it collects impurities as it falls from the sky

  • HEHEHE NICE CLIP.... GO TO THE STORE AND BUY DISTILD WILL U? HEHEHEH FUNNY... NEWAY VERY INFORMATIVE BRO... TNX U VERY MUCH!!!!

  • or you could put the drain to your furnise into a bucuet and get it that way... what you get free water from the air to make free hydrogen then use the hydorgen you power your furnest wow i just came up with a great idea.

  • If you can make hydrogen, you can number the clips

  • drags on and on and so condesending....

  • You should have 'numbered' each of your short video clips in the order you wanted them to be viewed. Your work is clearly overwhelmed by the frustration of not having the NEXT CLIP ready to view. SOLUTION: Make longer clips ...if you can't count to 5.

  • Fuck you Expert Village Put some Fucking Numbers!!

  • Why didn't you set an order to the videos with numbers or a classification system???

  • Why didn't you order the videos numbers or a classification system???

  • Why didn't you the videos???

  • why not nacl?

  • did anybody notice that this guy has over 138,000 uploads? wtf!!!!!? how much time does it take to upload that many videos?

  • @mtdeezy it's not a guy...

  • @mtdeezy hey....he was uploading these stuff since he was a kid!

  • maybe this is a stupid question, but we wouldn`t run out of whater using H as a fuel?

I mean the H2O goes to H H and O; The H it is burned . How will be the water be "regenerate"??

  • @oxiredo hmmmmmm, this comment is very disturbing and i thinks someone might benefit from a little chemistry lesson

    electrolysis: 2(H20) + energy > 2 (H2) + O2

    hydrogen combustion (reaction with oxygen): 2(H2) + O2 > 2(H2O) + energy

the hydrogen and oxygen make water and the cycle continues...

    does this help?

  • @dontcommentitsgay yes, tx

  • @dontcommentitsgay , even more important is a little thermodynamics lesson. Making hydrogen in a home rig, and then burning it later, you lose most of the energy used. Use 1KWh of electricity to separate hydrogen from water, you'll get less than half a KWh back when you burn it. If you burn the hydrogen in a four-stroke engine of a car, you'll get 35% of the energy of the hydrogen at best. So now you have less than 17% of the energy you put into making the hydrogen. A bad deal.

  • HE'S FROM THE COLONY!!!!!!!!!!!!! MICHAEL!!!!!!

  • keep the net free no more ads jk 1- 2011

  • learn how number clips on youtube, watch my video

  • 1:45 "Do you know where to get potassium carbonate? I don't, I had to order it." classic.

  • Yea only after running with baking soda for a while, it CREATES sodium hydroxide (lye)

  • salt will work well.....

  • Don't be mean to the lye it's in your soap.

  • Go to tall the trouble of collecting rain water? LOL is he serious, that is literally the easiest step of this whole experiment.

  • would salt work better or worse than the baking soda?

  • Electricity passes from -ve to +ve terminal !!

  • Comment removed

  • arent you the guy from the Discovery Channel show called "The Colony" ??

  • @filteredbongwater yes he is :D

  • Quit hating on NaOH. It works wonders together with aluminium. D=

  • Hey when did General O'neill leave Stargate SG-1 to make Hydrogen videos?

  • how the F do you know what the "next clip" is? This is impossible. I give up. Strike a match to whatever hydrogen you generated, my expert. See what happens. Which clip is that? Maybe it was never submitted to YT because the scientist blew his face off in a terrible explosion! "Don't do this at home", boys & girls...

  • Toughest guy on the colony

  • we did that at chemystry class. ve used acid for a n electrolyte. i personaly prefer salt. the water gets green but i got a lot of hydrogen

  • i know how to make potassium carbonate.

but you have to wait until the next clip!

  • You are unable to view the playlist because it is marked private.

  • is it me, or is selling distilled water in supermarkets in canada is illegal? I cant find it anywhere!

  • That dude is from the colony aka best show of 2009

  • @bandmember0604 that would be awesome. Does anyone know the correct order to watch this videos?

  • Is there any way that I can get all of your videos on dvd to watch them?

  • hey this is one of the guys from the colony

  • Wrong/- the problem is that storing hydrogen is hard--storing it as gas takes up too much space in tanks, and liquid hydrogen is highly pressurised and explosive and hard to transport(from tank to car etc) ppl no that hydrogen is a good fuel--but oil is easier to store and transport--u don't c any natural gas powered cars do ya? (or not many)

  • what about urine?

  • are there any free electrolites?

  • hm we have have tecnobleg to make water by fusing hydrgoen and oxygen you get water :P 90% of the univeres is hydrogen if we can get hydrogen from outer space no worrys about earth lossing all of its water...well iunless earth is destroyed :P

  • For the world to take hydrogen REALLY SERIOUSLY, there are problems to solve. 1. You still need large quantities of DISTILLED WATER - this takes a lot of energy itself. 2. For the levels of energy that the world consumes, if the "recovery" rate of water was say 90%, how long until the world would encounter water shortages? A long time perhaps, but still a long term consideration. But hydrogen is still impressive - but there's no free lunch!

  • What else would combusting hydrogen yield besides water? I guess the question is what would happen to the "unrecovered" 10%?

  • This guy is on the discovery channel show "The Colony"

  • baking soda sucks for making hho

  • whats better?

  • Well I have heard that Pottassium Carbonate is the best and it is non toxic(I think). But I don't know where I can get it other than the Internet so I use lye it works really good but it is really toxic. you should Google "hho electrolyte" click on the first result and it will give you all the pros and cons of a lot of electrolytes

  • The 3rd one is Lye (also known as caustic soda). It's a corrosive alkaline substance, which is commonly referred to as sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

  • potassium carbonate is K2CO3

Baking Soda is NaHCO3 it's not that much of a difference

what was the third one again? I can't understand the name

  • this is very informative, but explanations are too "beefy". could shorten these clips by 40-50% where more complete instructions are in each clip, and not segmented into two parts. dispense with all the double-kill, and pls. get thru to the subject! plus, it's hard enuf to find the second part to some of the segments- clips are not i.d.'d

  • I know this is a huge channel and i don't expect anyone to reply. but as an expert in this field i need to correct something that has been said.

first. KOH (potassium hydroxide) is absolutely the best electrolyte for a hydrogen generator application. sure it caustic and can be dangerous. It provides the very best environment for electrolysis. baking soda makes a mess of things in the long run. It can be dangerous also. you run the risk of making chlorine gas. visit my H2 channel. :)

  • you might want to put number on you clips so we can find it.

  • damn number the clips !!!!!

  • NUMBER THE CLIPS, MAKES FOR EASY FIND... two things, i found is 1/rain water is dirty full of atmospheric crap, dont use, 2/ baking soda, well its short lived when used and has that as a draw back for longevity in a system, salt gives ww1 toxic gas, you should use bolt connections inside vessel, no wires, they fail ,arc, explode, have fun.

    thom in scotland.

  • This guy cracks me up! Knows his stuff though..

  • What is the "next" clip ?

  • i know.. bunch of RETARDS!

  • i think it's a conspiracy to discourage us from learning! LOL

  • these clips need to be numbered

  • muy bien very good

  • Where did he get the corrigated stainless and what grade of stainless is it? I hope to find316L S.S. corrision resistant for my Cell. Can anyone help? thanks Uncle Milty :)

  • for the 300,000 time DO NOT USE BAKING SODA. it creates harmful chemicals as well as damage your stainless steel electrodes. Use sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide

  • Where do you get those?

  • lowes or homeepot. get roebic drain cleaner

  • thx... I'm going to go for baking soda. :d

  • you can get potasium carbonate at your local brew shop its used to lower acidity levels in wine. It's also used in the production of soap and glass.

  • No problem.

Actually when it comes to hho, its helps the engine burn fuel more efficiently so there are LESS harmful emissions produced. The byproduct of hho is water.

Even the major automakers, who are making hydrogen vehicles, are praising them because they are so 'environmentally clean' when it comes to emissions. They are the cleanest vehicle on the planet unless your talking about electric vehicles (but they require recharging & that electricity is made from fossil fuels).

    :)

  • btw after thinking about this topic of salt water, I DID do a video on this... check out a vid called "Testing Salt, BS and NaOH"

Its SHOWS what each of these does (salt, BS (baking soda) & NaOH). Interesting stuff to say the least.

    I hope this helps.

    :)

  • pt 1

No and here is the reason why.

Salt is composed primarily of sodium chloride. Salt also has other things in it that are really just impurities (iow it doesnt help with hho production). Its also the raw material to produce chlorine gas, which is dangerous (and its bad for your engine).

    see pt 2

  • pt2

Also know salt/chlorine has a bad reaction with aluminum & since most engines have a lot of aluminum, its safer to skip the salt.

So I would rather stick with NaOH, KOH or as a last resort, baking soda. I have also read that those who use salt have to clean there cells more often than those who use NaOH & KOH.

Maybe one day I will do a vid and tests = salt vs NaOH and see if there is any difference in production & efficiency.

  • uh, soap?

  • No, not soap.

Sodium hydroxide (lye) which can be used for making soap (and many other things).

  • Baking soda breaks down with heat, but NOaH does not - IOW it lasts longer. NOaH isnt that dangerous either. In my cell I use 2 liters of distilled water and only 2 teaspoons of NOaH.

So you can use NOaH or baking soda, the cool thing is that HHO cells are pretty flexible.

    AH

  • I am a retard what is NOaH?

  • NaOH (sorry its not noah - even tho noah was around a lot of water).

Sodium Hydroxide or more commonly called lye. I use NaOH in my cell and its easy to get - just find some Roebic Drain Cleaner - its 100% sodium hydroxide.

  • Soda..As in Coke..The Pop.

Soda water..I use it to clean off my terminals on my car battery.

    Baking soda is the best.

  • Potassium Hydroxide is what most companies use as their electrolyte solution. Does your anode rust? A company called Ceranode makes an Anode that doesn't rust and is guaranteed to work for a million miles. I have a couple and there is no rust at all, an am producing 20 gallons of HHO per hour. Am thinking about posting a video really soon for all the unbelievers...lol... GO HYDROGEN!

  • how much baking soda would you put in a litter of water?

  • More notes on what happens when salt is used.

The crust on the stainless steel is iron chloride, formed from some of the chlorine ions and the steel. The remainder of the chloride ions combine to form poisonous chlorine gas.

The oxygen is bound into hydroxyl (OH-)ions, which do not escape as a gas. They form sodium hydroxide (lye) in solution. The energy needed to separate hydroxyl ions is much higher than that needed to form chlorine gas, so the chlorine gas forms instead.

  • Electrolytes are different:

    - Halogen salts (e.g. table salt) break down, producing chlorine gas instead of oxygen gas. This is a deadly poison.

    - The carbonate ions in sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, and sodium hydrogen carbonate (baking soda) break down to produce carbon dioxide gas instead of oxygen gas.

    - Sodium carbonate behaves the same as potassium carbonate, and is common washing soda.

    - Sodium hydroxide does work. So does sulfuric acid. Both produce hydrogen and oxygen gases.

  • From what I've found is that in Sodium Bicarbonate, it makes carbon monoxide, which is bonded later in the combustion cycle to make carbon dioxide. I would not reccomend this for large applications running in the house, but well reccomended for use in car systems. Please, correct me if I am wrong. If anyone knows the equation for an aqueous acetic acid electrolysis breakdown, could you please respond with it? xD Thanks guys.

  • Why distilled water? I understand it has less contaminates/impurities, but why not salt water?

  • Simply because the salt in salt-water counts as an impurity :)

Just a theory here...but the sodium chloride in the salt water - the cloride ions would go to the anode and oxidise to form chlorine gas and you definitely don't want that accumulating round local areas, do you?

Ergo, the water must be distilled to be effective and safe.

    Insightful question though. :)

    And interesting vid.

  • you can use salt water however it will corrode stuff much faster and form a crust over the stainless steel.
