@okto1234 nope, full grown they get about 3.5 feet, so realistic you should have no smaller then 6 feet long,3 feet wide(i would go wider personaly) and atleast 2 feet deep, so that is about 270 gal tank, so a quite large tank is needed and of course needs propor heating and Ph levels, salt water tanks are not for first timers. shortly i am going to be hatching a baby banded cat shark and getting a baby ray for my rank ima get built for it,
@sammy222ize depends on location of were you live im guessing, but quality marine sells them, and also depends if you would like to hatch your own or get it as a baby, i live in canada and a baby is about 150$ and a egg is about 60$
@x4feetunderx 180 is best you may have to upgrade i am going witha 150 gallon at xmas! cant fuckn wait i want to put my snowflake eel in it and make it like a james bond villain tank haha
@xmazz31x haha word i have my banded cat in a 55 long right now but am soon upgrading to a 150 cause the 55 is way too small even without all the lr in it
@millo1143 depends on the temperment of the one that you own, mine was very friendly mostly kept to hi mself being a bottom feeder for the most part sitting all day and being somewhat active at night swimming around minding its own
@mikaboom123 wow you do realize this is a saltwater animal right? they get around 2 1/2 feet and no they need a bigger tank atleast double that if not more.
How long could I hold a baby bamboo shark from birth in a 80 gallon aquarium before I need to get rid of it? Could I possibly have 2? for a year or 2?

hi. my banded shark hatched about a week ago. ive tried to feed it but doesnt want to eat. ive tried sardines, and mysiss shrimp, but it still doesnt want to eat it. can u tell me what it is that u feed your banded shark?
@fish8me88@fish8me88 lol im going to make fun of you cuz your retarted becuase this fish has no scales, dont care you posted a year ago its still funny seeing someone go off on someone who dosnt know what they are talking about either. and also about the fur thing they do have "fur" but it isnt what you think it is it helps push them through the water.
i got me a hundred gallon aquarium and am considering these cute little buggers. can someone please tell me what water conditions these lil' fellas prefer and where you can purchase one?
100 gallons is way too small for a cat shark. The bare minimum would be a 150, but most people say 180. consider something smaller, such as a zebra shark.
nice shark. jus got my 2nd one the other day. 60 bux at about 7 inches. hatched about a week b4 i got it. kinda nervous about that. how old was yours wen it started eating the ghost shrimp?
Your Bamboo shark is not a Catshark at all. It is a common misconception but Bamboos belong to the carpetshark family along with Nurse Sharks, Wobbegongs, and species such as the Collared and Rusty Carpetshark.
can I keep this guy in a 23x18x28cm tank ?
