The Picante Hand Crash was the inspiration for the Omni. He wanted a cymbal like it without such a thin edge and that he could also ride and crash. Thus, came the Omni.

He is endorsed by Sonor but I am pretty sure he is not playing a designer (SQ2) in this video. That finish, Midnight Fade, is only available on the Force 3007 line, which is a 9-ply Maple but made in china. I have the same set in the Jungle Kit configuration, with a 16" bass drum, which is what this looks like.

I love the Jungle Kit but also have a proper Sonor Delite kit. I use Sabian cymbals - the Jojo 13" Fierce hats, the AAX Memphis ride (which is unbelievable) and a hand hammered crash. Now, I want on of those choppers and a proper China. ;)

@ninpomaniac i'll tell ya one thing. if ur going for a REAL authentic sounding china, go for WUHAN. probably the best hand made real chinese cymbals. i got one made by wuhan but it just duznt say wuhan on it due to wuhan only being able to be sold on the internet n not in store, so u live in australia coz my local drum shop has a couple wuhans bought from the net so ask where u get ur cymbals.

JoJo Mayer is a killer drummer. I listen to his playing all the time. However his signature ride has alot of overtones.I was playing one the other day and it wasn't for me. Fantasic player though. I strive to play at his level.

His sig ferce ride cost about £400 in english money. I am quite sure it's the best ride money can buy, but I would never pay £400 for any cymbal no matter how good it looks or sounds. But Jojo is an anmazing player and this was very handy to see.

I mean, when I was growing up I used to spend a fare bit of my time trying to find out about my favourite drummers set ups. Unless you went to their clinic's, you would find adverts in the mags with the cymbal set ups, but, having you're favourite drummer discribing their own set up in their own words is priceless!

And I'm sure everyone are learning these grooves while they watch this.
