It wasn't simply down to Chamberlain talking to, or being misled by Hitler. Neither Hitler nor his military including the citizens of Germany and other western powers were in any way interested in getting into another continental war. However, had Britain been more shoulder-to-shoulder with France, as the French wanted, and had they both been similarly so with Poland, the Danzig incident would have been resolved by Hitler and the Germans of Danzig without any invasion of Poland.
Speaking with iran, is about as logical as speaking with hitler. Chamberlain tried it, the rest is history.
