if it's a coal train heading to Gateway dump shed it will have 2 loco's and about 120 cars. if it's going to north st. louis it has 3 loco's and 135 cars. rush island coal train has 4 loco's and 135 cars. siekston coal train 2 loco's on the front and 119 cars... hope this helps

Most montrose la coal trains have 1 lead and 1 DPU, which looks quiet cool.kinda shows how powerful locomotives are...great video..
