Best VGM 301 - Shenmue - Main Theme

This is the game that turned me into a sega fanboy for life. I eventually grew tired of military FPS, JRPG and sport games but I never gave up on Sonic, Shining Force, Phantasy Star, Jet Grind Radio or any other IP from Sega. It's a damn shame nobody wants to push modern gamers out of their comfort zone. In 2011, it has come down to "Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3".

I've only played the second game, but it really capture you'r soul. Its long, epic and surprisingly good. Is like playing a movie.

they stopped making Parasite Eve games, ok... but then they announced it for PSP!! well at least the game isn't dead...

However, of all the games that needed a sequel, this one was the most obvious... why Sega? What happened?

@jubailblast shenmue 2 cost 80 million to make.. and game didnt sell good... so they lost a lot money... cruel world of video games... when author got huge ambitions developers give him freedom and money and make a game exclusively on 1 platform this happens... :( wouldve be great if yu suzuki developed Shenmue 3 on both xbox360 and ps3 so everyone can buy this game and make SEGA happy to sponsor Shenmue 4...who doesnt know Yu wanted to create 7 parts

That's doesn't mean Shenmue has a bad soundtrack. It's not a classment or something like that. Supradarky just upload some great music he discovered by time.

Oh, and yes, this the for Shenmue is very beautiful...

I didnt mean that the graphics need to change I just meant that games now have upgraded in graphics and that most games automatically have the upgraded graphics

@CursingSasuke re: graphics... i think people get too wrapped up in the whole graphics debate - for me, sometimes graphics actually really do make the game for me - perfect examples off the top of my head include Legend of Mana and Out of this World, both of which were decent gameplay wise, but stupendous when you consider the graphical style (and music in LoM, and story in OotW... i guess i'm hurting my point there though). Either way, when I think of those games, I remember the graphics most.

I know you wrote this a while ago, but I'd have to disagree with your point. Personally I'd say what you described is differences in style. Both those games have differing styles of artwork which have always had an impact on how a game is viewed. For example, Windwaker and Twilight Princess are generally on the same graphics level while, of course, the styles couldn't be more different. Just some thoughts. =)

I went to "Play! A Videogame Symphony" in Toront back in 2006, and that's when I discovered this song. Wow, I was shocked!!

Shenmue! A series that never really got to be as great as it should have been. GTA can eat it's hart out. This is the best sandbox game ever!

Now...if only Sega wouldn't have pulled the plug on the series. What is with Sega taking great series and killing them all the while destroying their mascot?

No as I said in the last video, my favorite game ever is Chrono Trigger. :P The Shenmue series is definitely in my top 10 though.

Chrono Trigger? Sure, the gameplay is awesome and there's 90 endings, but all of it is over in 10 hours. That's 12-15% the length it should be!

One of my favorite series of all time, and probably the most absorbing I've ever played.

BTW, I'm currently building up the 2nd part of the playlist that starts at VGM #201.
