There are still some real punks bands out there like Synskin says...just look for bands that were influenced by bands that were there when the movement started..Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, NOFX, All, Descendents, etc...Punk is more than dying your hair pink or green..Its an ideal, a way to think and deal with life in your own goddamn way!

When you find a band you like read their liner notes and check out the bands they are into or friends with. You're gonna like some of 'em.

@ mc fiend if you can, get your hands on some old "punk-o-rama" albums. the earliest ones.  #1, 2, 3. or just look them up on the internet, check out the song listings and band names and search for them on youtube. i don't think you'll regret it. hopefully i helped.

the Descendents were WAY WAY ahead of their time. Definitely one of the greatest punk bands, if not the best ever. My other favorites are Bad Relgion, Rancid and PENNYWISE (pennywises Major influence and Jim Lindbergs major influnce are the Descendents!!! what a great fucking band....G'dam...I love the Descendents!!!!
