@DarkTrojanHorse DarkTrojan posts his anti geek statement on a site that celebrates something he criticizes others for being into. What was that phrase "some people really do need to get a life"? How many sports shirts do you own that have some jackalopes number and name on the back? Oh right, that's "cool" because everyone else tells you that's what you should do right.
Indeed, he most likely posted that comment on his Macbook Pro and will respond on his iPad because nowadays that is "cool". Another funny thing to note is that since Youtube filers video suggestions based on a user's search history, this DarkTrojanHorse dumbass must have specifically searched for StarWars vids before, and he probably is a fan but is too embarrassed to admit it so he has to posts comments like that to try and validate his "cool" lifestyle. Fuck the haters.
@vedran156 You're probably right. Who would choose a name that includes Dark and Horse without being a comic book fan. Oopps sorry, meant Graphic Novels fan. ;)
The reason people get excited for these little things is simple. We see a change in Luke the second he activates his lightsaber. It lets the audience know that Luke isn't a whiney kid anymore, but rather a more collected and serious person/jedi. And also to let us know he means buisness and there is no fuckin around here. To top it off we actually get to make that transition with him. It's the little moments like this that makes star wars great.
Lol at Luke constructing his lightsaber using a screwdriver. Real jedi use the force to construct them, no other tools needed, just like how Bariss Offee constucted hers.
@Jessy101elmo This scene was never seen behind the scenes or extras in the past until now. Basically this is a deleted scene that George Never bother to put it in the movies. This scene wasn't that necary to average watchers because that would like ruin the surprise of what will happen later during the flim. Basicly all this scene was suppose to be is Luke Construct his lightsaber but he already made it so yeah like I said it didn't seem that necary in the movies.
@soraroxas123456789 not to mention, Lucasfilm addressed the construction of the new lightsaber in the Shadows of the Empire novel which also talks about how Leia get''s the bounty hunter outfit she uses when turning Chewie over to Jabba. Much like they did with Shak Ti for The Force Unleashed.
You know, I just love the quality of these videos in videos. It would have been a little higher if you first filmed the video from your laptop onto your iPhone, copied it over to your digital camera, enhanced the visuals in some Adobe software, played it on on iPad opposite another iPad that's rerecording the same footage, then uploaded it to Youtube. This is the golden age of technology....you gotta use it to its fullest!
@EinsteinEMP826 it's just the feeling of fulfillment after seeing this portion of the film that has been rumoured to be in existence for some time... during this period, the fans all will kinda image how this scene will look like... and when it's being played... of course they'll go wild... it's like .... HECK THIS IS EXACTLY IT!
That sucks for the people who were there and wanted to watch this. All of these attention hungry idiots yelling and screaming during the presentation.
Actually, this scene isn't accurate. According to star wars chronology, he creates the green lightsaber during Shadows of the Empire, not return of the jedi.
@TheSwaggaMan111 In the novelization of ROTJ he put together the lightsaber just prior to his journey to Jabba's palace. Shadows of the Empire tried to retcon that, and it was a terrible retcon overall.
@TheSwaggaMan111 Well, obviously the construction scene in Shadows Of The Empire wouldn't have occurred had this scene been kept in Return Of The Jedi.

@themachman19691 Absolutely..I am a big john Williams fan..and this underscore was included in the 1997 release. Also in the book..with an illustration. But the reasons it was cut maybe at that time.. would have given away too much. But as much as I love John, the triumphant "sail barge battle" ends on a soaring motif...thus killing the sandstorm scene where Han and Lando bury the hatchet..which would have given me some closure as a die-hard Solo fan. Oh well.
I love the guy who has an orgasm when he realizes it's Luke making a lightsaber. Then at the very end someone goes "Oh hoho!" like that scene is going to change the entire saga.
@Eskimo50 I was totally the one who shouted Yeah!!!. Let's face it man, when you are in a room with hundreds of Star Wars fans, waited in line since at least 4am to get up to get in line and wait 7 and a half hours, then you see one of the legendary cut scenes. I knew exactly what scene this was. We all thought this one never made it past the pages, but it was filmed and had full effects. tNot to mention I had just heard the very scene in the radio drama and wished it had been filmed.
@ValinKrai This is exactly what Lucas wants you to do. You should be smarter than that. He's been milking Star Wars to the point where it's become a parody of itself. Instead of eating out of his hands you should say "Enough, George. We're tired of being taken for fools."
@Eskimo50 At least I am not needlessly getting injured playing sports, wasting my money going to see Twilight or doing drugs. Besides, I don't give a crap what idiots like you think if I am haveing the time of my life. I didn't go there because Lucas wanted me to. Once i opened Phantom Menace I became who I am today.
@damo9811 So first-time audiences would be surprised when Artoo launces the new saber to Luke on the skiff over the Sarlaac. It also heightened the tension for them to think Luke has entered Jabba's court completely unarmed.
And once those scenes have been completed and insterted into a new, new release, the majority of you will race to the theatre and pay money to watch the movies over again while George laughs at you while he is taking your money to the bank.

I bet George Lucas will eventually clean up the deleted scenes of the original, put them in a extended Blu-Ray and force all once again to go out and buy it. It's robbery.
@hxcdsal89 And yet you came on to this link to watch it too? Your reaction is the same as the reaction of those who were watching the scene at comic con or where ever this was being shown. You like SW enough to check out the deleted scenes too, stop expecting everyone to act like you do and let 'em have their fun.
George Lucas can polish a turd like no other! I'm amazed that people freak out so much about a scene that was 1) cut 2) is really short 3) looks shitty 4) and has no substance 5) and is 30 years old. The force is definitely smelling like bullshit
Typical Lucas bullshit. The Blue-ray costed 80 motherfucking dollars. 80 motherfucking dollars for a few changes. FUCK YOU GEORGE LUCAS. If you didn't create the greatest trilogy of all-time I'd fucking shoot you in the face you greedy cocksucker.
@Jonny6665 Visit redlettermedia, look for "Star Wars" review section and you'll understand why the prequels are so bad (Plinkett's reviews are hilarious AND incredibly educational). ;)
Someone please clear this up for me, I thought that in the new Star Wars Blu Ray box set this and many other new scenes were meant to be included? But this scene defintly wasnt there. why is this was i just wishful thinking?!?!?!
@Metallica4Life93 yeah I know. The other deleted scenes I understand cause some arent finished, but this one and the scene where luke is talking to biggs are completely finished and should have been re done and inserted back in.
@Metallica4Life93 They didn't add (to my knowledge) any of the old deleted scenes back in. They changed Ben Kenobi's Krayt dragon call to scare the tuscan raiders off in A New Hope, the change of puppet yoda to CGI yoda in Phantom Menace, Ewoks now blink in ROTJ, and the worse of all: the addition of Vader shouting "No!" (in a very horrible and cheesy way, it almost kills the scene altogether) as he saves Luke's life at the end of ROTJ.
I remember reading this part in the novelization and wondering why it supposedly wasn't filmed and how cool it would have been. Remember, Luke was not trained from infancy in the Force like the self-deluded Jedi from the prequels. Even though he was good at heart, he still has a potential mean streak. And a reason to be a little angry. Put it in the context of..he's getting a Force Taunt from Vader and sending back a vision of " this is what you're gonna get". No words. Just a lightsaber blade.
I hate going to a movie and hearing people yell and cheer at the movie- "Yeah" - so annoying. Control yourself just a little for fuck sake. I get it, you're a fan - Can you imagine a theatre full of retards like that?
If they left it in the Sarlacc Pit scene would be less awesome. Luke starts to jump into pit then spin jumps in air to catch saber then rip them up with new green color lightsaber. Many people in theater cheered when they saw the new color.
Though I still wish the construction scene could've fit in there somewhere. It looks pretty damn cool when he puts the last touches on it and turns it on for the first time.
@Gunnarr123abc That It was a deleted scene no one had seen before made it a YEAAAAHHHHHable to so many people. If it had been a scene of Luke on Dagobah scraping mud off his boots the reaction would have probably been similar.
Americans are great people, but put a bunch of fans in a dark theatre and show them ANYTHING remotely funny/interesting about the movie/series they already love and they'll become the most annoying beings in the universe. I can't help it, I just hate them when they go "whooo", cheer and appluad every two seconds for the stupidest reasons: it's because of their poor, poor standards that garbage like Michael Bay's Transformers makes money (Optimus Prime appears and does nothing - WHOOO!!!).
@TheRichardHinckley I get your point: to be fair, I don't know for sure. However, I can tell you here in Italy I've never seen people cheer or applaud that much in a theater (maybe just once, with Jurassic Park, but there were lots of kids in the audience). Of course watching movies with an american audience can be great when the movie is a masterpiece (I wish I was there when the crowd shouted "MURPHY!!!" at the end of Robocop in 1987), but there has to be a reason for all the excitement.
Remember that was a room full of uber Star Wars nerds, not even the just the normal kind.
LOL They are going to flip out over that stuff.
The woooh guy make me cringe too. Just enjoy it and don't ruin it for everyone else.
I have no explainaiton for Transformers! LOL It seems to be a very age specfiic thing, as it is all the kids that are grown now that played with the toys as children. I never got the appeal myself. Premise is silly.
@CessnaDriver2 Maybe it's just Comic-con... I remember a premiere of a new Futurama episode, the fans laughed at every. single. word. The dialogue was - sadly - light years behind the quality of the first seasons and still they went insane. I agree about Transformers, but I think americans turned that giant toy commercial into a cult series 'cause it was one of the few watchable things for boys that needed a somewhat "adult" story. In Europe, anime was much more popular and fulfilled that need.
Really? People cheering at a Star Wars event bothers you? They're all at an event for what is essentially a kid's movie. They're having fun with it - you may need to lighten up just a little.
It's a great never-before-scene from a 27 yr. old classic - and Americans made this 27 yr. old classic.
Americans SHOULD cheer and be excited about it.
If that's all it takes to bother you, you're watching the wrong clips.
@King31395 I'm sorry you can't see what bothers me... it's quite the opposite. I wouldn't cheer 'cause when I'm really invested in a movie I SHUT UP and WATCH IT, so I (and everybody in the room) can ENJOY it; if I'm really that excited I can cheer when the clip ends. Those tools aren't even trying to understand what's goin' on, they just want to turn off their brain and make some noise for the sake of it, 'cause (insert baby voice) "there's Luke and he's making a lightsaber and it's awesome".
@catoblepag: Really, a bunch of people cheering for a scene they wanted to see for DECADES at A STAR WARS convention bothers you and makes you insult Americans??? I'm sorry but if thats really how you feel your just a bigot and a clown.
@catoblepag REALLY? Who gives a shit? You get upset because Star Wars fans get excited and cheer for something they love?? You must live a sad existence if you hate people that show passion and excitement for something they love. And one more thing...it's not just us AMERICANS ...it's people of all nationalities that cheer when they love something. Way to make yourself look like a negative, ignorant bigot...CHEERS FELLA

Fanboys really need to calm down....its a fucking scene.....wow!!! Idiots
hxcdsal89 4 months ago 22
@hxcdsal89 And yet you came on to this link to watch it too? Your reaction is the same as the reaction of those who were watching the scene at comic con or where ever this was being shown. You like SW enough to check out the deleted scenes too, stop expecting everyone to act like you do and let 'em have their fun.
kalelwannabe 3 months ago
George Lucas can polish a turd like no other! I'm amazed that people freak out so much about a scene that was 1) cut 2) is really short 3) looks shitty 4) and has no substance 5) and is 30 years old. The force is definitely smelling like bullshit
iwanttoseemrshow 4 months ago
Typical Lucas bullshit. The Blue-ray costed 80 motherfucking dollars. 80 motherfucking dollars for a few changes. FUCK YOU GEORGE LUCAS. If you didn't create the greatest trilogy of all-time I'd fucking shoot you in the face you greedy cocksucker.

wow... people need to chill out. I think it'd be awkward if there was no reaction from the crowd. This is at a convention, so what do you expect?

well theres alot of people here that should NEVER go to a rocky horror picture show screening

Metallica4Life93 4 months ago
@Metallica4Life93 It is in there bonus disc 2 return of the jedi tanatoine deleted scenes.
mazdee626 4 months ago
@mazdee626 OH!! thanks, though I wish they just added them into the films rather than keeping them as bonus material.
Metallica4Life93 4 months ago
@Metallica4Life93 yeah I know. The other deleted scenes I understand cause some arent finished, but this one and the scene where luke is talking to biggs are completely finished and should have been re done and inserted back in.
mazdee626 4 months ago
@Metallica4Life93 They didn't add (to my knowledge) any of the old deleted scenes back in. They changed Ben Kenobi's Krayt dragon call to scare the tuscan raiders off in A New Hope, the change of puppet yoda to CGI yoda in Phantom Menace, Ewoks now blink in ROTJ, and the worse of all: the addition of Vader shouting "No!" (in a very horrible and cheesy way, it almost kills the scene altogether) as he saves Luke's life at the end of ROTJ.
JosephTemp 4 months ago
@JosephTemp so no new full scenes included? well thats just tragic
Metallica4Life93 4 months ago
Return of the jedi still has the coolest lightsaber sound effects....much better than the overtly muffled sounds of the new trilogy.

At first, I thought Luke was the Emperor.
DippersandSmiles 4 months ago 2
I remember reading this part in the novelization and wondering why it supposedly wasn't filmed and how cool it would have been. Remember, Luke was not trained from infancy in the Force like the self-deluded Jedi from the prequels. Even though he was good at heart, he still has a potential mean streak. And a reason to be a little angry. Put it in the context of..he's getting a Force Taunt from Vader and sending back a vision of " this is what you're gonna get". No words. Just a lightsaber blade.
temporal3x 4 months ago
They should have kept this scene in ROTJ. It was cool and it gives us an approximation of when Luke got his new Saber.

I hate going to a movie and hearing people yell and cheer at the movie- "Yeah" - so annoying. Control yourself just a little for fuck sake. I get it, you're a fan - Can you imagine a theatre full of retards like that?

Why did they cut this scene? It looks awesome.
ThePieIsLie 5 months ago
@ThePieIsLie
If they left it in the Sarlacc Pit scene would be less awesome. Luke starts to jump into pit then spin jumps in air to catch saber then rip them up with new green color lightsaber. Many people in theater cheered when they saw the new color.
lordtryforce 5 months ago
@lordtryforce
Hm, I didn't consider that. You're totally right.
Though I still wish the construction scene could've fit in there somewhere. It looks pretty damn cool when he puts the last touches on it and turns it on for the first time.
ThePieIsLie 5 months ago
I'm glad this scene was cut. Vader's dialogue was practically lifted from TESB and the lightsaber reveal was lame.

Gunnarr123abc 4 months ago
@Gunnarr123abc That It was a deleted scene no one had seen before made it a YEAAAAHHHHHable to so many people. If it had been a scene of Luke on Dagobah scraping mud off his boots the reaction would have probably been similar.

Americans are great people, but put a bunch of fans in a dark theatre and show them ANYTHING remotely funny/interesting about the movie/series they already love and they'll become the most annoying beings in the universe. I can't help it, I just hate them when they go "whooo", cheer and appluad every two seconds for the stupidest reasons: it's because of their poor, poor standards that garbage like Michael Bay's Transformers makes money (Optimus Prime appears and does nothing - WHOOO!!!).
catoblepag 5 months ago 37
@catoblepag i know transformers is being called the " greatest action movie of all time"...give me a break those movies suck
bigmoney4635 5 months ago
@catoblepag I wish you were wrong. But is it really just Americans that do that?
TheRichardHinckley 4 months ago

CessnaDriver2 4 months ago
@CessnaDriver2 Maybe it's just Comic-con... I remember a premiere of a new Futurama episode, the fans laughed at every. single. word. The dialogue was - sadly - light years behind the quality of the first seasons and still they went insane. I agree about Transformers, but I think americans turned that giant toy commercial into a cult series 'cause it was one of the few watchable things for boys that needed a somewhat "adult" story. In Europe, anime was much more popular and fulfilled that need.
catoblepag 4 months ago
@catoblepag
Unbelieveable.
King31395 4 months ago
@King31395 I'm sorry you can't see what bothers me... it's quite the opposite. I wouldn't cheer 'cause when I'm really invested in a movie I SHUT UP and WATCH IT, so I (and everybody in the room) can ENJOY it; if I'm really that excited I can cheer when the clip ends. Those tools aren't even trying to understand what's goin' on, they just want to turn off their brain and make some noise for the sake of it, 'cause (insert baby voice) "there's Luke and he's making a lightsaber and it's awesome".
catoblepag 4 months ago
@catoblepag
Well like you said, it's a movie we already know and love - and there's not exactly much in the way of dialog in the scene either.
People cheering for a cool two minute clip is the whole reason why its being shown at a convention like that- to get people excited and pumped.
