You are right in some respect. To most Chinese inside China were respectful in regarding to US before the country opened up 30 years ago. The modernization of China allowed Chinese people to be able to travel to see the world by themselves. More and more Chinese, especially the young people start to realize the world out there is not as glossy as imagined before. Contrarily, they feel shocked how bias the media in the West in regarding to China and China related issues.
