  • what a combination, Houy Meas and Virak Dara. Thanks for sharing.

  • Why couldn't Khmer movies stay good like this, now all Khmer movies have is sex and lesbians making out!! *sigh*

  • Dear LionheartPnshmnt,

can you please upload the part where she sings with the bird (her husband) by the window? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Regard,

    Serey

  • I would love to upload that but I only have a clip of this movie. I do believe this movie survived along with Puthisen Neang Kang Rey and Srey On. This move was slated to be released in the early 90s again but the producer decided against it after mass pirating of Srey On. Quite a shame really.

  • yes old movies were completly better than new movies . Great actors and actress . It s also good director . It takes so long to make movie , but nowaday they can make a few months .. lol ..

  • Im gonna be honest, when I was 11 years old, I watched " On Euy Srey On " starring Kong SomEun and Virak Dara with my parents. I kinda fell in love with her. I likef her eversince. I heard she is the few,if not the only one that escape the Khmer Rouge Regime and now resides in France. Please upload more Khmer oldies movie.

  • I'm not much of a fan of the New Age movie they be coming out now, because they have bad acting, computer graphic, story line, plot, costume are tacky, will basically everything is bad.

The reason why I'm so passionate in finding these rare old films is because. Its apart of something great and in graved in Cambodian history. I love these rare footage because they are so detailed and the story line is so whimsical and endearing to watch, not to mention the acting is far superior then now.

  • You're right. Everything now is so cliche. Everything back then was ALOT better. More talents etc. I cant stand the movies and whatnot they have now. It's just sad that there's not alot of these great movies and actors left. My mom tells me how she use to watch them film and how it was so exciting.

  • Her name is Virak Dara and she played "Srey Orn" in On Euy Srey On and in other movie like Puthisen Neang Kong Rey. I heard she was half Khmer and half French and her French name was Nathalie. Most talented khemr movie star died during the war, along with some of the movie. Its nice to see that some are recovered, I hope one day they make a documentary of Khmer cinemas. Well thanks for uploading this. Oh yea what movie is this by the way?

  • I agree - regarding the "documentary of Cambodian cinemas". It'd be very interesting to learn something of the past that is silently becoming invisible. Pray that these "deceased" actros and actresses are remembered and honored for their acting ability and how they make the Cambodian film industry a reason to watch.

  • yea not the new films but the OLD CLASSIC FILMS the ones that are so rare and so hard to find because they where mostly destroyed from the war.

  • what year was this?

  • She palys, in On Euy Srey On. Kmher movie.

  • Sounds so beautiful!

  • She is so beautiful.

  • They used to show old movies at Wilson High School back when I was a kid. My parents own both movies. The movies did survive. I used to watch it when I was a kid.

  • I have never seen this movie. But i listen to the story. Roeung Jao Sappasidh and Sovann Kesor. Jao Sappasidh when he was in the prev life he was a bird. He went to find food for his familly and got stuck in the Lutus flower, at home their was a wild fire threaning to kill his familly. The female bird trying to save the family , but she was not able to save them.

  • continue...

they have kids and then one day Sapreset went out to look for food but end up stuck in a lotus flower. Then there a wild fire and Sovann Keysaw thought that her husband was with another girl (the smell of the flower on him) she fly into the deadly fire with her kids and swear that next life she should never ever have contact with men.

Sapreset fly in after her and hope to be with her in their next life. SCORE!!!

    6th grade khmer literature!

  • ooh i know the whole story of this!!

Sovann Keysaw & Sapreset was a pair of bird in their last life.

  • I have heard that it was her very first movie that she ever did. I got the source from APSARA magazine.

  • Neang Kongrey movie is survied. It can be shown in the movie theater. What is the song Jeung mek por Khmao is from the movie but i don't know the name of that movie, Phakor laun duem chnnam not survied. Because we cannot find them. There are so many but we cannot find them.

  • thats so cool she has her name on the wall of her room LOL. sovann kaysaw...

  • yes, you can read. I never seen that movie in my life.

  • which movie? Sapreset or Neang 12 (neang kongrey)

  • Yes, both of the movies. I only saw the picture posters. But i saw other Khmer movies a long time ago before the pol pot destroyed Khmer country. Now the majority of the good Khmer movies did not survived.

  • It is unfortunate these two movies did not survive. I think I have some clips from Neang Kongrey. These clips are off a tape released by Runteas Pich as a trailer or something. My parents bought it thinking it was a movie but we were disappointed it wasn't.

  • OMG! I would love to own this movie..I wish we knew who would have a copy

  • VirakDara played Neang Kong Rey Movie. She was running after Rithysaen. I have never seen both of these movies, Phnom Neang Kong Rey is in Kompong Chnnag Provine, Cambodia and the statue of Neang Kong

Rey and Rithysaen there. Neang Kong Rey Mountain is in Kompong Chnnang Province.

  • That's great. I actually have a Khmer Krom lakorn on this movie. I didnt realise that there was a Khmer movie. Thanks for sharing
