  • lol at people who either think they're cool for finding a song from some other show/movie/commercial/etc. or think they're cooler for knowing it on their own.

I'm obviously cooler for pointing out this fact..

Or we could just listen to what we like, from whatever source we found it.

This song is perfect, lets just love it.

  • I thought the world was ending. But people are just people and perhaps she's right, and the world is everlasting.

This made my day so much brighter... :')

  • I've had the worse day and this just cheered me up ;)

  • People are just people, they shouldn't make you nervous.

People are just people like you.

  • @52kilgoretrout Except Regina. She's from outer space and has come to Earth to improve our mundane existence by teaching us earthlings a thing about life through her enchanting music.

  • This song is rad brah!!! \m/

  • It was the same episode where she sings little boxes for the title! Not gonna lie. I almost shat upon discovering this.

  • I love weeds, but I didn't even know this song was in it, I just like her.....

  • once again some raw ass true shit!

  • thumbs is weeds sent u here

  • the world is everlasting

    put dirtballs in your pocket

put dirtballs in your pocket and take off both your shoes

    cause people are just people

    people are just people

people are just people like you

    <3

  • Hair actually doesnt grow after you're dead. It;s a myth. The skin on your head actually shrinks to your skull making more hair visible but it doesnt actually grow

  • @UncleRed1234567 Way to be a major BuzzKill there pal >.<

  • @MortTheCat haha, i know eh

  • @UncleRed1234567 Except... Regina Spektor rarely ever writes music in a literal way, so why should it matter if she uses a wive's tale to illustrate a point? Your argument is invalid.

  • @UncleRed1234567 I left one thing out, She's not even illustrating a literal point. Almost all of this song is figurative, except for maybe the business man, though I doubt it's a business man in all cases.

  • this song made me so happy :D

  • Seriously... you spelled it wrong. I can't share this video now because I'll look like a dumbass.

  • @arielgirl529 You sort of look like one right now...

  • este tema lo conoci mientras tomaba el 29 gracias a una mina muy linda que me ofrecio compartir su mp3 durante el viaje

no se porque no le pedi el celular!

    jaj, en fin, linda letra!!

  • *corporate

  • she has an amizing voice, you gotta love her <3

  • 7 people have never kissed someone nice

  • It's Corporate.

    "Cooperate" is completely different.

  • what the regina spektor

  • only can listen this when im drunk

  • One of the best Weeds endings ever.

  • interesting & oh so true .. excellent job on your song .. thanx!

  • ... The lyrics... I believe every word.

  • kasey has good taste.

  • i love it when she starts speaking towards the end thats the best part.

  • @xJacho11x then buy me a new charger, mikey.

  • Kinda sad how many people need a visit from the ghost of corporate future, huh? And no, that was not a jab at the dislike bar -_-

  • Saddest song from the saddest episode of Weeds.

  • Is it weird that I can relate to this song?

  • @mynameiszacci nah that's not weird :) I think a lot of people can too.

  • Beautiful :)

  • omg this sound actually made me feel better about... everything. Regina how do you manage?

  • ocean brought me here

  • "maybe you should kiss someone nice

or lick a rock, or both" hahaha :D

  • This song encouraged me to talk to people during freshers at uni last year, so glad it did because a year on and we feel like we've all known each other a lifetime.

  • :) when i die i hope they play regina spektor

  • I like how she sings at 2:26

  • i just saw the word weeds and clicked like

  • this is adorable :3

  • IN WEEDS <3 !

  • The hair doesn't really grow when you're dead. It's just that the skin recedes, hence the impression. Just sayin'.

I love the song, does anyone know the source of this version? I've got Soviet Kitsch, but this sounds kind of different. More 'unplugged' maybe?

  • I love this.

  • Licking rocks is my FAVORITE thing to do. Regina is suck a cynical little bitch! I love her!!!! :D

  • lol I think she must have cut her own hair in that picture cus it's funny.

    Regina <3

  • Just discovered this song, It's gonna be a long night.

  • track is amazing!

  • Just like the Ghost of Christmas Future from "A Christmas Carol", who talked to Scrooge! Helping him change his harmful ways and teaching him to enjoy life. I guess a few people in our day really do need a talk from the "Ghost of Corporate Future".

And guys, hair does grow a bit after your dead, or at least it looks like it. So do fingernails, it's why people thought that dead bodies were "undead" (vampires). :)

I think her point is that there's always another chance if you mess up.

  • YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Weeds

  • I am in love with this song.

  • i cant help but notice that only THREE people that disliked this video :) thats becuase Regina iis EPICALLY AWESOME!!!!

  • Hair doesn't grow when you're dead...

  • @smoogirl Yes it does!

  • @SingsLikeACree1 Incorrect, it does not. It only appears to as your skin dries up and receeds, causing the hair underneath your scalp emerge.

  • @smoogirl Hair are dead cells. So it grows regardless if you are dead or not. :)

  • @kenyangyal They stop growing beause there aren't any live cells in the body to push the dead ones out -_-;

  • @smoogirl acutally for a short time your body still produces the substances to make your hair grow

  • @08Adele Aye, but not for long enough to make a huge difference :)

  • She sounds like a little girl at the beginning. She's so cute and talented! If I ever have a daughter I'm naming her Regina :)

  • wow these lyrics...

  • This song doesn't sound good at first, but eventually get better and more beautiful... :')

  • i dedicate this to "the rapture"

  • people are just people like you!

  • Sooo, three people watch the ten o'clock news.

  • @VivianTheMitchell 8 now.

  • Love it.

  • It is so fun to sing this reeal loud

  • poor Peter, i know he was DEA, but still cmon bitch u cant jus play a nigga like that

  • this made me tired for realz

  • 2 ppl stepped in a loogie

  • 327 people kissed someone nice

    2 people licked a rock

  • I LOVE HER! T^T

  • 2 people licked a rock.

  • this song is so fkin artistic it can have so many meanings and have an impact on ppl n different ways from all walks of life its GENIUS and i fck wit it heavy

  • Thanks to the unreal credit songs on weeds, I found out about this song:)

  • haha " you never made your wife moan " . lol (:

  • Thumbs up if you heard this song on the show Weeds!

  • I love her... Regina I mean. To find an artistic and beutifull woman is hard in this world. I hope for good luck to all people looking for their loves in this world of conformity.

  • Is this a live recording or the studio version found in her album?

I want to make sure the best version is the one I buy...i'm cheap when it comes to my music, i'll jump at a chance to get the version i like best if i can get it for free :)

  • @blisstwilightmist This is from Soviet Kitsch, her album ;) But... Although the quality is the same, I have to say I found her singing in a slightly different way from this version.

  • @RobertaIBetti

This definitely isn't the version from Soviet Kitsch, 'cause I have that one--I wonder where it's really from.

  • She's so cute. I wish everyone was a playful as her.

  • This is such a ridiculously masterful creation - to get all that emotion and stuff across with just a piano....how do you do it - teach me! haha

  • I love this song with all of my heart <33

  • Love.

  • Every time i hear this song, my life gains collor again. Makes me act lika a true humanist. She inspires me to make good on!

  • She is just so adorable <3

  • Comment removed

  • People are just people like you. <3

  • This song is so inspiring!

  • what's a ''loogie'' ?

  • @yolo1998 someone who gathers a lot of saliva in their mouth then spits it out on the ground. a lot of men do this >.<

  • @SophistryCat ewwwwww gross. Thanks for that though haha

  • @yolo1998 Actually, the truth is much grosser. It's a lot of saliva mixed with snot that you snort into your mouth.

  • 500 characters aren't enough to summarize everything that's going on in this song : ) I really like the light-heartedness of the music and lyrics. It makes me feel better to listen to this song. It makes me want to lick a rock and walk around barefoot in public : )

  • this is truly epic...

  • I'm going to kiss a person, AND a rock today.

  • weeds season 2 thumbs up if you got here from that

  • question. Wtf does this all mean? had to listen to it for english.. idk if its because ismoke too much weed, but i dont get this

  • @El1841 i really don't think it makes sense at all, but it's somehow a good song. That's Regina for 'ya.

I mean, some guy stepped on a loogie and it talks about licking a rock, but I somehow still enjoy the song.

  • @El1841 I think it's about life. People are always trying to be safe, most of them never take risks: 'trying to save their suits'. She tells you to take risks, even when you think your life doens't allow it. Take the chances: 'Take off both your shoes, whatever chances you get, especially when they're wet'. Cause if you don't watch yourself, your life may be over before you realise it: And when you come back home, your children have grown, and you never made your wife moan'. -be continued-

  • @iljakieft So maybe you have to do some unespected things, and not just the normal things you always do: 'Well maybe you should just drink a lot less coffee,

And never ever watch the ten o'clock news'. Or do somehting weird: 'lick a rock'. Cause it doens't have to cost money, and most thing will not damage you as much as you think: 'hair grows even after you're dead'. PEOPLE ARE JUST PEOPLE, JUST LIKE YOU. In short, make something beautiful of life, before it is over. THE WORLD IS EVERLASTING

  • This is amazing. purely adorable.

  • I`ve really been falling in complete and total love with her......she is beautiful in all ways i can see.......i wish she was my companion.......my lover , my muse...

  • Regina Spektor is the closest equivelant to Weed for your ears. <3

  • @3Days2LiveX no, shut up.

  • @ATBisthebest1

Dude, what the fuck are you even trying to say? Maybe the reason why you think the lyrics are crappy is because you can't comprehend the meaning behind them. Go back to your mainstream

  • @AWordlessRendition

    "go back to your mainstream"

I hope you don't think people who listen to mainstream music is below you because I happen to love both mainstream music and regina spektor.

  • I was in a slump one day; just feeling stressed and sad and stuck. Then I discovered this song and it put everything in perspective.

Needless to say, I cut my own hair that night and started anew.

  • Whenever I feel stressed or tired or sad, when i listen to this song and hear the words"people are just people(...)the word is everlasting" I can feel all those negative feelings leave me. I start to feel so calm . After all we are all insignificant to the Universe, and it's true- we live, we die, we should try make the best of it and enjoy ourselves , rather that worry about everything, feel sad.

Anyway love the song, she's just so amazing I can't even say it right.

  • Hehe, she's got a really cute voice. Makes me wanna go aww when I hear it. <3333333

  • I love this song.. i listen to regina when i get home from work, and it relaxes me..

  • speaking the truth with music

  • This song makes me think of Weeds (:

  • I love this song. It makes me feel sane.

  • Only Regina can make the word "loogie" sound like the cutest thing ever.

  • I cried... for some reason.

    <3

  • Love the creativity and uniqueness . . . great stuff!

  • I spend way more time on the computer now just so I can listen to Regina. Need more of her songs for my iPod :)

  • this one was on weeds

  • marvelous.

  • Every time I search on Youtube on Regina Spektor, I find new songs!

And they are all so nice!

  • Omg. I just kinda, listened in disguist, but at the same time, its the kind where you have to listen to the whole thing, the whole way through. Although after the loogie part, I just kinda paused it and thought... "Wth did I just hear her say"??? She has some prettyyyy strange songs, I have learned now. XD Wow. Lol, just wow. Beautiful voice, but bitter sweet music, I guess?

  • fantastic.

  • People are just people.

  • Haven't heard this one. I ADORE it, especially the lyrics

  • maybe you should jus kiss someone or lick a rock! is that what i heard??

  • it's not that weird i have licked a rock once.

    loved it.

  • @yaelkosh hahaha I-m gonna lick one right now

  • @conceitarturo actually that is one way scientists identify rocks and minerals. but they never tell you that in school or you might acidentally lick Galena and then you will be dead. Although Halite taste like salt and Kaolinite will stick to your tongue and make everyone laugh.

  • @yaelkosh

I too, have shared this joy,

  • Also, I'm not being sarcastic: is that what people mean when they talk about "Anti-Folk?" The meter seems totally random, half the lines don't scan, nothing rhymes, the melody sounds like it might have been generated by rolling dice... and I still like it.

  • What the hell is Anti-Folk meant to be anyway? Can't we just call it folk?!

  • @ferret12 Antifolk is music that has a generally Anti stance, anti-consumerism, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, anti-globalization ect ect. It's just yet another sub-genre

  • @PowerViolenceForever

    Isn't that just folk?

  • @DearShithead Not all folks lyrics are about anti-establisment ect... It's like Crust punk is a sub genre of punk, it's Crust but it's still punk. Same thing with folk and anti folk

  • I accidentally loaded this video in the background while watching one of those really nihilistic "Adult" Swim cartoons. I didn't realize at first it wasn't the real background music to the show. You know... I think the episode was about 1500% better when I thought this song was part of it.

  • bomb the music industry! do a really good cover of this

  • Amen!

  • i just tried to upload my video of this song and was told it broke copyright! how did you get it up?

  • "maybe you should just kiss someone nice or lick a rock or both"

    so cute!

  • people are just people

  • It makes me wonder if it's a Depeche Mode reference.....?

  • everyone who sees him says ew!

  • I love this song because it's so true. People areee just people like you and they really shouldn't make you nervous. Regina is so wise.

  • best girl

  • regina creates the best, most quirky music I've ever heard. you rock, don't ever change!

  • i love regina! can't wait for her new album...=]
