Holla! Have you considered anxiety zero technique (I think its at anxiety0.info)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend pretty much cured panicks with it.

Why are they all rubbing their face and tapping on their hands and face? does it help?

Simple answer: yes. The tapping works on the body's energy system - same as acupuncture. As the doctor states, even if the only direct benefit is stress relief, it helps the kids be more receptive to the medical treatment.
