This maybe the most kown work of any music artist. It has perhaps been in movies than anyother work.... The opera is so long and unbelieveable dry. But many of the works from this work are wonderful... Like this one...
"valkrie" within the context of Von Stauffenberg was a little known defense mechanism within the nazi legislature that allowed the mobilization of the national guard or home defense troops... it was already there... the people who conspired to kill hitler were just utilizing systems already in place to suit their means... they didnt name it valkrie. and it doesnt really have anything to do with what this composer was doing in 1850, other than hitler exploited his music as propaganda...
LOL I know...it's like, I usually hear this song being used in a comical context (like as part of a movie or commercial)...but when I listen to it fully it's quite dramatic. O.o haha
I might be wrong with the "ä" tho because I'm finnish, I don't know how you americans see the letter. But I pronounce it correctly and it sounds like that.
This piece of music is one of the best I have ever heard of Wagner, especially the atmosphere which is victorious and exhilarating.

No, it was Hitler who was into Valkyrie the most.
In the movie "Valkyrie", Hitler says "One cannot understand socialism without understaning Wagner".
